Faith-filled classical dance training in Ballet, Tap, jazz, Modern and Hip-hop. Ages 3 – 18. We strive to teach kids to use their talents to glorify the Lord, and help them develop their unique artistic voice. Our ballet program is structured to fit novice to pre-professional dancers, aiming to help each dancer achieve his or her goals. Our staff is well trained and has professional dance experience. Our annual Spring Concert is designed to create a unique performing opportunity for every student, melding their faith with their artistry in a full-scale original production.
History
Established in 2008.
Grace Dance Academy was founded by Jen Daugavietis in 2008 with a dedicated group of students whose families supported the vision of sound technical dance training in a wholesome environment. Beginning with 14 students in September 2008, GDA tripled in size for the fall 2009 school year and continues to grow. Classes are now held at 2 locations to accommodate the interest in classes. The spring concert in 2009 was a collage of faculty and student works held at the Hoover Theater. The 2010 concert was an original production titled «Creation» that used video projection, narration and dancing to tell the story of Genesis chapter 1. Creation was held at Foothill College’s Smithwick Theatre. The 2011 spring concert will be held in May and titled «The Missions Project,» an all year project studying missions efforts around the world, culminating in a production including video and dancing.
