History

Established in 2008.

FastPencil began with a vision to democratize the publishing industry through powerful end-​to-​end technology. Beta was launched as a self-​publishing platform; «From Inspiration To Distribution» was its tagline.

In mid-​2010, a shift in the industry began; FastPencil strategists predicted that Enterprises and Large Publishers would need a Workflow Solution to modernize the management of core business capabilities with technology. The company pivoted in response to the market, and began building FastPencil 2.0.

On April 30, 2013, Courier Corporation — established in 1824 and America’s third largest book manufacturer — acquired FastPencil, adding to its digital solutions line of business.

As both a content management system and producer of books, FastPencil streamlines publishing workflow through proprietary technology and unique partnerships. FastPencil is the only channel-​agnostic, end-​to-​end publishing engine that is scalable and ready to serve enterprises, publishers, and authors.
