Courtyard San Jose Campbell

This hotel has the worst customer oriented ignorant front desk I have ever encountered. Never again will I try to stay here. In fact, my Gold Elite membership is not worth keeping if Marriott has people like this working for them.

My boyfriend and I stayed the night here for New Years and we loved it! We have stayed at overpriced hotels in San Jose before and we were so mad that we did that, since we’ve found this place!
On NYE it only cost 120 $/​night!!! If we tried to book at a motel 6 in San Jose it would have been about 160 $/​night or more and we would have been rooming next to hookers and crackheads!
Why will we go back? It was new, clean, spacious, near downtown Campbell, walking distance to the prune yard, they had an onsite restaurant and bar with happy hour options.
It was a perfect little place to enjoy a night away close to home at a great price! We will be back!

Had a fantastic stay here this weekend. Hats off to staff and entire hotel. A++ from check in to my have to haves. Great firm bed and over the top water pressure in the shower. Will stay here for sure again. Thx to u all.

Stayed for a night this week since it is closed by my office. The hotel and room are updated and very clean. The staff are friendly and courteous. Free parking and wifi are great. A missing star is for lack of room service. There is a restaurant downstairs so I was surprised that they don’t deliver food up to the room.

This was one of the nicer Courtyard Marriots I’ve been to, but it was a short drive from the airport, unlike the other one that’s walking distance to the airport.
Take your usual Courtyard, and just make it a little nicer, and this is what you get. I’ve heard that Campbell is the better part of town, so that could also play into it.

I’ve never stayed here but when I was doing travel arrangement for work to book lodging for our executives, this is were we usually book them because: 1. my work is LITERALLY right across from this hotel, 2. never got any complain from our VP’s about their stay at the hotel and 3. Starbucks is inside. My team and I had decided to go here to hold our Friday meetings as a change of scenery. The inside is very modern, staff is friendly and convenient for our VP’s.

This place is dishonest and not loyal to their own members. I booked my checkin with two queen sized beds and I arrive and receive a king sized bed with a pull out sofa bed with stains all over it! I called front desk to let them know and if they had the original room that I officially booked and confirmed as a Hilton honors member and American Express Hilton honors card holder. The front desk which turned out to be the manager” Andre” did not want to accommodate me at all this is located at 655 creek side way Campbell California San Jose. She was rude, unfriendly, very heartless human being, she talked like a robot that was stuck on one sentence. No customer service at all and she is the manager at this hotel. Very unprofessional from my point of view. I am a member and she treats me in this imagine if you are a regular consumer. I asked for extra pillows and blankets since she was not willing to accommodate my reservation unless I pay the higher rate which was a 40.00 dollar difference on Labor Day weekend which they already have a higher rate overall in general. Her reply was there should have been a bag already placed in the room due to fully booked busy holiday we don’t have extra to send up to you but we can send you towels if you need them. Andrea is a robot that does not care about her job nor the hotel guests that are paying her paycheck. I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone it is very beautiful from the outside and could be a beautiful delightful place if they had the right customer service and the right person working there as far as management is concerned, Etc. I will never recommend this place to anyone, nor reserve this hotel ever again, and I will make sure to tell everyone I know how awful this person made this hotel! The Double tree by Hilton just down the street is excellent service, friendly jolly people, and very clean, there are no stains on the coach and they also welcome you with warm freshly baked cookies they have excellent customer service skills and don’t turn you away whatsoever! Double tree by Hilton I highly recommend! Courtyard Marriot by Hilton 655 creek side way Campbell San Jose is worth zero stars if you want my honest opinion! I really was disappointed with this Hotel!!! Stay away from this hotel ! No loyalty! Disgraceful! Very unpleasant!

Great place and would love to come back and stay here with my family. Front desk staff-​Angelia– hopefully that was her name, was very helpful. I had to print out a document to check in but she gave me an alternative and was able to check in with no problem!
We got a two room queen that’s really spacious, clean and comfortable! The swimming pool was nice, warm, and clean.
I’ve ordered a couple of things like pillows blankets and a toothbrush and the gentlemen who brought it up was very nice. I couldn’t catch him name I apologize but I saw him at the pool, looked like he was an engineer or housekeeping. Both employees were very helpful and welcoming. Would come back!!!

Parking: Large private lot, included in the hotel fare.
Location: Surrounded by plenty of businesses like Chevron, Whole Foods, Noah’s Bagels, Starbucks, and other restaurants. The hotel is also 2 miles from the Westfield Mall and the Winchester House.
Rooms: Generous with lots of space, very clean.
Amenities: Free wifi, moderate size outdoor pool, 24-​hour fitness room – all free. 1^st floor there is a small café/​restaurant that serves breakfast/​lunch/​dinner including Starbucks coffee at a cost, of course.
This is our 2^nd visit so overall, very happy and find this place a recommendable hotel for your stay.

I appreciate the response from Cerissa. Interestingly, as you read the other reviews the same front desk buzz cut thin male appears with the complaint that he was rude. Yet it is clear not a whole lot has changed. What is also interesting is the lack of central Mariotte contact points as it is their name being destroyed at this hotel. In any case, good luck to the owner Cerissa, and beware to the susceptible travellor.

Excellent hotel. The staff were extremely nice. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable, we had a single King room with a sofa bed. We were on the 7^th floor room with a nice view of the mountains in San Jose in the backround, and the train station across from us. We couldn’t hear any traffic or train noise in our room.
The pool and hot tub were great. I only wish I had more time to spend in them! There is a 24hr workout facility which I didn’t use but looked clean and nice, and next to it is a laundry room for guests with 2 washers & 2 dryers. There is free wifi which worked well everywhere but right next to the window in my room, and it stopped working as soon as I’d step out of the building so it was not useable at the pool. As I laid in bed it worked as well as my 4G on my phone.
There is food available in the mornings & evenings in the lobby, a full bar and Starbucks coffee. And a small area by the front desk that has toiletries and snacks 24/​7, including beer & wine. There’s a smoking patio in the back of the building. Free parking, although the lot filled up by 8pm so Im not sure what guests do after that! We had a great experience and would definitely stay there again.

Super hard, lots of small sorta fluffy pillows and paper thin bedding
Not very comfortable, I really couldn’t sleep for the 3 nights I was there
Upon check out, I was never asked how the stay was so I never had the chance to say it then

I’ll say this much; this review is overdue and deserves to be out there. I DO NOT recommend this location/​do not support management until I am made whole.
I decided to stay at the Courtyard San Jose Campbell hotel for Wrestlemania weekend at the end of March 2015. The staff for all intents and purposes were quite accommodating and polite. Their rules and how management decides to enact those policies is what I have an issue with.
*******After my departure and check out from the Courtyard (after a 2 nights stay), I was charged an additional $ 100+ when I reviewed my CC statement. When I called into find out what the reason was, they informed me that room was a ‘smoke-​less room’ and we had broken the rules.
I am not a smoker nor have I ever been; if I ever was, I’d have the decency to smoke outdoors in their lovely designated smokers area. It ended up being that my guests’ cigarettes were left in the trash can and that was evidence enough to charge us $ 100. SERIOUSLY?! When I went to contact management to get a clear explanation of why they would charge us for merely finding tobacco remnants in the trashcan, the front desk attendant assured me I’d get a call… Still haven’t heard from ‘em. So I tried back… still no response. (No ash, no smoke scent, no nothing besides a few shreds of tobacco apparently).
This is my form of protest to publicly shame Courtyard for their lackluster customer support AND unfair surcharge of our stay despite our respectful nature. Thanks for calling back too.

Had to stay here last night due to plumbing problems at home. Overall, had a pleasant experience here, but I do agree with other reviewers that service here is inconsistent. There are two Asian ladies who seem to be there throughout the afternoon who provided stellar service. They greeted me everytime i walked in the door and most times as I was leaving.
The white men in dress shirts who are there in the morning… not so much. The skinnier, taller white guy with a buzzcut was especially rude. He completely ignored me, even though we made eye contact as I walked in.
The larger, older gentleman who «helped» me out this morning as I was checking out leaves much to be desired as well. He asked me, «Can I help you with something?» in a patronizing tone, as if I didn’t belong there just because I’m a 24 year old who still looks like a kid (blame my Asian genes). I should’ve responded, «Umm.of course. I mean why else would I be standing in line?» [FYI, a better way to phrase the question would’ve been, «How can I help you, sir?”] But anyways I remained polite and said, «yes, I’d like to check out.» He responded by asking for my room number, taking my key card, and saying that he’d take care of it for me… and that was it. No «thank you for staying here», no «come visit us again soon» or any hospitality basics along those lines.
Food was another major problem here. The hotel doesn’t offer room service, and even the hotel restaurant is closed from 12 – 4. I get that they’re a corporate hotel and cater to the working crowd’s business hours but what about guests who aren’t staying there for business purposes. They literally have to leave the premises to find food. Luckily there are plenty of options with the pruneyard nearby, but still. Oh and the hotel bar doesn’t even have a full bar — only beer and wine. So for my thirsty Unilocalers, that may be something to consider haha.
Honesty, I don’t know if I’d be back. There are much nicer hotels in the area with more competitive rates, friendlier staff, and more amenities. 2.5 stars

The past weekend, 4 family members stayed here and had a terrible experience. First, they were stuck in the elevator which dropped approx 2 stories. After dropping in the elevator, they were all stuck in said elevator for greater than 90 minutes. Whilst stuck during this time, the elevator rose, then dropped again for several feet. Cable cords snapped and bolts were heard dropping to the floor.
Once being freed from the terrorizing event, NO ONE from the hotel was at the elevator to a) check if everyone was okay or 2) apologizing for the event. No one from the hotel had anything to say other than it «wasn’t in their protocol to call 911» for such an event.
I do know this is an isolated event that is not likely to happen to anyone. However, as a health professional, and someone who travels often, I would like to know that hotels such as this would have proper protocols intact to handle emergencies and make sure that their customers are taken care of. Clearly, here, this is not the case.

Great service, great beds… super comfy. Food was mediocre drinks were a bit overpriced, but it is swanky and comfotable for long term stay.

Courtyard by Marriott, is a pleasant place to stay. It’s clean, has great service, free wifi, and big rooms.
The shower is a bit awkward and poorly designed. You actually have to be IN the shower to feel the temperature of the water. You can reach your hand through the square cut out to turn on the shower but not feel the temperature. Also, the water pressure is pretty low.
Like most hotels, the iron sucks. I’m not sure they replaced shampoos etc. because a couple were used, but no big deal, I usually bring my own.
TONS of free parking. Like oodles of it. It’s a great location for guests to stay (like us) when a friends wedding venue is nearby.
Restaurant/​bar closes early, be prepared with your own snacks and late night noms.
Would stay here again if I needed to!

This is a clean, well-​run hotel.
My only complaint concerns the food situation. The bar/​restaurant area closed very, very early (10 PM on Friday night, I believe), and there isn’t a single restaurant that delivers after midnight– not even a Dominos. That got me a little cranky.

Nice hotel, great customer service. Rooms are nice and there is only a shower no tub.
The reason I mention this is because they installed the door or the shower head on the opposite side you get into the shower so when you turn the shower on you get face full of cold water even standing outside of the shower… it is just the way it is made. Someone didn’t think that design over too well.
They have a small bistro with bar food that is okay. They have beer, wines and mixed drinks. Very expensive though for the alcohol.
Pillows are nice, the rooms have fridges but no microwave.
Otherwise a great hotel.

Caveat: I’ve stayed at some amazing hotels, so I’m really picky.
It was over a hundred degrees in the Valley and I was-​not-​having-​it. Seeing as it was Independence Day, I thought I’d give myself a mini-​fakation and rent an air-​conditioned room nearby. This was the cheapest respectable place within thirty-​minutes of my house, so I called and booked a room. The other nearby hotel was more than double the price and offered half the amenities, so I thought I’d give this place a try!
I was shocked to find a brand new hotel, practically empty, stocked with almost anything I could want for a quick trip. The front desk employee, Candy, was a great help in getting me set with all the things I needed.
There is a bar-​lounge downstairs, which doubles as a breakfast post in the morning. I tried the chocolate blueberry muffins and the Morning Meal Deal, which is an egg/​sausage croissant + orange juice: both were just okay; don’t get the muffins. The room was your standard Marriott Standard; it wasn’t anything luxurious (no bathtub), but it wasn’t sketchy. There is a pool & jacuzzi, gym, and snack bar (no microwave in my room) on the first floor. The elevators are a bit slow for an empty hotel with only seven stories. I stayed here on 4^th of July and could see fireworks from my room on the fifth floor! The parking lot was weird, and made the place feel like a step-​down. However, the staff was friendly as well as helpful during the times I needed them.
Overall, I would recommend the hotel. You can’t beat the price for what you’re getting. I still can’t believe it was that cheap.
Tip: Walk south on Creekside to the Pruneyard, & eat at Pacific Catch for biz dinner!
