Cedar OB-GYN Midwifery and Women’s Health

I am also shocked to see bad reviews on this place. I am 29 weeks pregnant and had a recent scare when I started bleeding. I called the emergency line after hours and Dr. O’Neill called me back within minutes. She told me to go to the hospital where I plan to deliver and she actually met me there. I don’t know what kind of bedside manner some people are used to but I have never had my private physician meet me at a hospital after hours. That was truly kind of her and made me feel very comfortable. Luckily, everything was fine.
I usually do see Kavita, who I also love. She is a great listener and a true professional. Having both a midwife and an OB really is the best of both worlds. I can’t recommend this place enough. From the relaxed atmosphere with two of the sweetest dogs wandering through the office, to the concierge like service you get from professionals who really care about your well being as well as your babies, this is really the greatest OB GYN experience you could ask for. Take care out there, ladies!

I’ve called this place three times just to make a regular appointment. The first time they picked up and told me they would call me back, which they never did. The second time nobody picked up even though it was during regular office hours. And the third time an answering machine took my message but nobody ever called me back. If you’re too busy just say so.

I’ve seen Dr. O’Neill once and Midwife Kay once. I found nothing wrong with the care I received from either of them. My main problem was that neither Dr. O’Neill or Midwife Kay got back to me with my test results.
Dr. O’Neill sent me out for ultrasounds and never called me with the results. I had to call myself, which I actually had to leave a message and my results were sent to me via USPS mail. That was fine, but I would think that a doctor would have better follow-​up with their patients — especially when their patent is trying to get pregnant over 40 — knowing those particular test results would have given me piece of mind.
This is the one that REALLY IRRITATED me!
On ½/​15 Midwife Kay sent me out for blood work for the Panorama test as I was 10 weeks pregnant. The Panorama test tests to see if your baby is in the low risk or high risk for chromosome abnormalities AND you can find out the sex of your baby. I was told that I would receive the test results back in 7 – 10 days.
I waited 3 weeks then I decided to call Cedar OB-​GYN. I left 3 messages and NO ONE got back to me. So, I called Natera, the place where my blood work was sent — the customer service rep told me that my results were sent to Cedar on 1÷9÷15. After finding that out on 1÷22÷15 my fiancé immediately went in to their office to obtain the test results — results were low risk and were are having a girl — woohoo!

Being pregnant and 41 — you are at a higher risk of having a baby with chromosome abnormalities — what midwife or doctor wouldn’t think that you would want these results ASAP? Blew my mind.
So, I don’t want to say this place is awful, but I found their lack of communication with following up on test results and not calling back after leaving 3 messages very unprofessional. I will not be going back.

Dr. Oneil lack of communication skills with patients you really need to ask twice and not take any risk with her.

I love Cedar OB-​GYN! The office is a wonderful and pleasant place to visit. You feel like you are at home there:) The nurse Laura is awesome and friendly. I saw Kavita for the majority of my appointments, and she is very caring, calm, and just overall great! I saw Dr. O’Neil for a few appointments, too. She was very knowledgeable and took excellent care of me. I saw Kay for a couple appointments and loved her. She actually just delivered our baby, and I was super impressed and thrilled about how wonderful she was for out delivery. I highly recommend Cedar OB-​GYN!!! I wish I had come here sooner! The office is very prompt. They are able to get you in, see you, schedule you, call you, and all those good, important things! I love this place!!!

I am a mother of now soon to be 6 boys. I have been to Cedar OBGYN for the last 3 pregnancies. I have always seen Kay until this pregnancy, when I had the pleasure of being treated by Kavita. Everyone in the office is pleasant and friendly and treats you with respect. Dr. Oneil is not quite as social but still quite a good doctor and someone I would gladly recommend. My husband and I really want a little girl so maybe we will be back to Cedar OBGYN after this pregnancy? If we do decide to have another this is the only place we would go.

I chose Cedar Ob-​gyn as my provider during both my pregnancies. I really love Kavita, she is my center! Very professional, easy to talk to, and was with me the entire pregnancy and delivery! I love the home– based midwifery, it makes for a comfortable and inviting environment during these precious moments in an expecting mother’s life. Cedar Ob-​gyn and its staff will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you.

Kavita was kind enough to take me in 1 week before my EDD.
I did not feel comfortable at my original OBGyn office. It was impossible to get an appointment with the same doctor so I decided to find a midwife that delivered at Good Sam.
Kavita was hesitant at first but took me in the same day to look at my labs/​check up. I have never been happier to have found Kavita through my doula. She is very professional and knowledgeable… She supports natural birth and won’t question your birth plan: P I spent more time with her during our first visit than I have ever with my old OB who was a great person and very kind, just too busy.
I feel a big load has lifted off my shoulders to have a midwife option instead of an overbooked OB office who is pushy with inductions and vaccinations!
Still waiting for the delivery but was too excited not to leave an early review.

I have been a patient here for 9 years now and I can’t complain. The midwives are great and Dr. O’Neill is very knowledgeable. In 2005, they cared for me during my pregnancy. I was 10 days past my due date and had to be induced. This was my first child. Since my daughter wasn’t cooperating, I ended up having to have a c-​section. The midwives explained everything to me and were very thorough. Dr. O’Neill arrived at the hospital as I was being prepped for the c-​section. I was very nervous but I knew I was in great hands. She got my daughter out safely and from my perspective it was fast. I was relieved my daughter was delivered safely and she was healthy. Dr. O’Neill closed me up and I barely have a scar where she did the incision. I love the feel of the Campbell office and I love this practice.

Wow so sad there are bad reviews here, Dr. o’Neill, Kay and Kavita are the only people I will trust with my reproductive health and delivery of my children! its true Dr. O’Neill can come off a bit brass, but I find it intimidating in a good way, i know she means business when talking to me about keeping up good health. She stitched me up after my first delivery, which i had several bad tares including 1 3^rd degree, and i healed great under her care. She is very knowledgable and thorough, a really great doctor.
Kay delivered both of my children, and we just simply wouldn’t have it any other way now. She was so helpful, encouraging, but not in the way during the entire labor process for both deliveries. My husband and I feel very fortunate to have found such a trust worthy place for our care, especially because it IS hard to find good doctors these days!

My partner and I have been seeing Dr. O’Neil for the past few years after dealing with our previous Dr who lagged a lot we thought that it would be a change of pace with Oneal. It has never been a pleasant experience with Dr. O’Neil yes she is quite thorough but lacks a serious amount of bedside manors. Although she does not always know what she is talking about, she takes her time to answer our questions. Her personality is bland (from what we see in the office) and has a habit of responding apathetically & sarcastically even during the saddest of times; this has given us more reason to continue our journey on for a better OBGYN in San Jose. I’m starting to give up on the idea that there are good doctors out there. If so WHERE?

I’m shocked that there aren’t a million positive reviews for this office. I truly love the midwives of this office. Particularly Kavita, Kay, and Kit (she is no longer with the office). Kit delivered my son 5 years ago, and I came back to have my daughter delivered by Kay 2 years ago.
I had an extremely long delivery with my first, 30 hours from when my water broke. I was at the hospital for like 12 hours, and Kit was at the hospital for like 5 of those hours, which is unheard of for doctors! She came back to check on my multiple times after my delivery too.
My luck for baby #2 was that Kay had 3 people in labor at the same time. Even though it would have been more convenient for her if I went to Good Sam, she came all the way to O’Conner to deliver mine before rushing back to Good Sam to deliver the other two. I still feel bad that my water broke all over her. Sorry, TMI
All the midwives are very gentle and kind, and make you feel comfortable. I enjoyed coming for my appointments just to meet with them.
I’ve recommended this office to lots of my friends, especially if they want a natural delivery. There is no way I would have gone epidural free without them.
