Campbell Tae Kwon Do Academy

It’s been 6 months since our son started his first Tae Kwon Do trial at Campbell. His improvement on verbal, listening, social, and last but not least, physical skill has improved by a number of factor compared to the 6 months before he started his TKD at Campbell. We believe, some was because his age progression, some was because of him started pre-​school in December. But both my wife and I, really see his improvements associate with TKD. You know he loves TKD here when he tells you that he wants to go to TKD every afternoon even after he started his DCS Kindergarten 2 weeks ago (switching from Pre-​school). Switching from pre-​school to new School’s Kindergarten is very tiring and shocking for many kids.

My 2 kids had a week of trial lessons and we are so impressed by Master Lee’s unique style of teaching, that we signed them up for a year of classes immediately. Kids nowadays can benefit from learning the importance of respect, discipline, obedience and focus in their lives. We’re so glad we found Master Lee & even though it’s only been 2 weeks, we already see our kids attitude changing for the better. My husband is so impressed. Even though our kids had been through other martial arts training for years, we’ve never seen anything like this before. Words are just not enough to describe how great a teacher Master Lee is and the other instructors at the center are. I’m very confident that our kids are not only learning self defense here but also to become better people and benefit society. We’re so happy and grateful that our kids are in this academy, not only are they learning self defense, but also important life skills that will help them at School and in their personal lives.

My kids love going to class at Campbell Tae Kwon Do. As parents, we love the discipline and respect that Master Lee has the class focus on every day. The higher level belts have shown support to our white belts by fostering the same respect by helping them learn forms and basic moves before class. This help from the higher belts comes naturally as Master Lee never has to ask his older students to do this. He must be doing a lot of things right if most of his class shows courtesy and respect to everyone without being prompted. They just don’t learn martial arts, they learn life and social skills here.

We highly recommend this studio. They really implement respecting parents, family and others. Your child can’t advance belt color if there grades are low. I love master Lee, he is molding children to be responsible children and leaders. You will not regret signing your child up at this studio. My son has become more respectful, helpful, and focused in a short time!

I was looking for a martial arts school specifically for my high-​energy four-​year-​old son. Unfortunately there’s not a lot of reviews on Unilocal for martial arts for kids. I want a traditional martial arts school that taught as much old-​school respect and values as martial arts forms. The school fit what I was looking forward to a T. Instructors spend as much time working on focus and etiquette as much as other martial arts skills, granted we never made it out of the «intro to tae kwon do» class. i really did appreciate Master Lee’s candidness that he’s not there to baby sit. the only downside/​thing keeping this from being 5 stars is, cost and commitment. They asked for a 18 month commitment at a pretty high cost with no out besides relocation or dr’s note. comparing it to other three martial arts gym, i’ve checked out, it way higher ($ 50/​month more than competitors). on one hand i totally get it, they make a significant investment of time and personalized attention to the students, but 18 month commitment at a high gym fee for a four year old kept me from pulling the trigger. we’re now at another traditional korean based martial art school, and definitely see the decrease in quality. i definitely would recommend this school for a traditional martial arts school that’s good for kids.

My son has been taking Tae Kwondo at CTA for about 5 weeks. He is a very intelligent boy, but he is pretty timid and a little uncoordinated. From the first lesson, I could tell he was going to like it.
The facility is clean and tidy. The class offerings are at convenient times. Class size varies, but is generally very reasonable with students getting a reasonable amount of individual attention. The intro/​beginners’ class is very basic, focusing on good foundations of personal character and discipline. Master Lee makes a formidable role model and leader and Mr Pyo has a fantastic report with the students.
The free first month is a good opportunity to see if the program is right for you. There was no doubt that we would continue. I have been very impressed with my son’s increased confidence. Coordination… well…it’s only been 5 weeks. We look forward years of instruction ahead!

My kids are having a fantastic time at Campbell Tae Kwon Do! They don’t even realize the important life gifts they are getting from Master Lee and his wonderful staff.
While you will hear over and over from parents how impressed they are with the discipline and respect their kids are learning, I feel it’s so much more.,
I’ve been able to get their support to help me work with my kids on completing homework assignments for school as well as a better attitude at home and with their teachers. Not to say my kids were out of control but all I have to say to them is, «Should I tell Master Lee or maybe we should not go to TKD today to spend more time on homework,» and the work gets done. Fast.
There is a great balance of encouragement for the younger students. Older kids and more advanced belts are encouraged to participate with the younger belts to improve their communication and leadership skills.
I’ve witnessed my daughter blossom in confidence and strength enough to stand up to perform a solid front kick on a boy 2x her size. It was amazing! I’ve my son looking up to older kids with the strong desire to achieve the goal of being a black belt. And I would be proud to see him become the leader that these young men and women have displayed to my family.

Our 5 year boy old started TKD about two months ago. He very much looks forward to going 3x a week and has learned better self-​control in a short period of time. Master Lee, Mr. Pyo, and the other teachers have done an excellent job of teaching more than just martial arts — emphasizing good behavior, respect for elders, academics and focus.
It is great fun for parents and grandparents to watch the new students (especially the young ones) learn the rules. In addition, the facility includes a second room with tables and free wi-​fi is available.

Master Lee puts Education first. My Nephew has been going there for over a year and his attitude and behavior have improved. From what I have seen, Master Lee has been Teaching Respect, Honor and Hard Work, and it is working. I highly recommend this institute to anyone. Thank You Master Lee

i have been practicing taekwondo since i was a kid, and since i moved and traveled a lot in my life i have been to and tried many schools. cta is by far the best one.
the admirable notion that you will notice on the first class, is that master lee will make sure that before a student is a great martial artist/​fighter, he is a great person.
respect, loyalty, responsibility, are just a few of the qualities that are implemented every day in students minds. you can see 4 – 5 years old students that are learning day in and day out the basic elements of teakwood, that are implemented in their every day lives, in school and at home.
parents, you can be sure that in cta your kids will learn the real values of life and will shape out to be respectful, responsible and mature.
i do not have children of myself yet, but i know that when i will, i will definitely bring them to cta.

Master Lee is AWESOME! My 5 year old son has been in his class for 2 months and he loves it! I love it! I’ve read all 9 reviews and every single one has nailed it! Master Lee does a fantastic job – I highly recommend his school!

We enrolled our 5 year old son and 3 year old daughter here about two months ago, and WOW what a great program that teaches respect and self control. I think this is an excellent program especially for active boys who are about to enter school for the first time or may be having self control or concentration issues at school — this program teaches not only self defense moves it also focuses on teaching respect for others, improving concentration, and building self esteem and awareness. Master Lee is excellent with the kids as he sets expectations for the children and then motivates through peer praise. We are very happy with the results and the kids have so much fun when they are there.

We started our son and daughter in Master Lee’s Tae Kwon Do Academy 1 month ago. My husband and I could not be happier. Master Lee puts a huge emphasis on education, by teaching his students self control and confidence. He also puts a strong emphasis on family and respect. We saw positive effects of his class in less than 2 weeks of attending.
You truly see that Master Lee cares for each of the students! We are looking forward to our kids growing in his class!

Both my girls (ages 10 and 7) joined taekwondo about a year ago. Campbell taekwondo Center is a place where they not only teach dojang but also teach life value lessons. They also teach how to focus and how to be a better stronger person in taekwondo and outside taekwondo.
I am impressed with the testing process where master Lee & judges checks each individual student’s latest school report cards and talk about their performance in school & at home. The process involved encourages students to stay disciplined and give their best.
This center is not just an ordinary taekwondo center but also a friendly place without attitudes.
I also want to add up to that by saying that the schedule is very attractive for working professional like myself.

My son was recently diagnosed with ADHD and our pediatrician suggested that we try a martial art as a way to establish some discipline, so we visited Master Lee during one of his classes. He was extremely welcoming and when I informed him about my son’s recent diagnosis, he assured us that within a month he would be able to improve his behavior and help him be more focused at home and at school. It has been six months since my son started Tae Kwon Do classes at Campbell TKD Academy and he is loving it. My son is now more focused in both home and school and is proud to share his achievements with everyone in class. He has successfully completed his first promotion and continues to be as excited as he was on his first day. Master Lee is able to offer both discipline and fun environment for kids and knows what each of them is capable of. I have also seen kids succeed and become more confident as time goes by. I highly recommend it!!!

Master LG Lee’s dojan is not your typical martial arts studio with kids running around, paying their money and progressing up the color belts just for showing up.
He has a passion for taekwando and teaching, and is very ‘old school’ in reinforcing the values and goals of taekwando, and not just how to kick and punch. He is very focused on promoting good values so the kids can have a better life.
He is also very good at balancing correction, sternness and encouragement and adjusting for the different age groups.
We were looking for somewhere for our 5 ½ year old who, although many wonderful things, is not very focused. Disciple, attention and focus have improved significantly since starting that I had no hesitation in subscribing for a long term set of lessons. Amazingly, if acting up or talking back all my wife has to say is «What would Master Lee say?» and good behavior is almost instantaneous.

About 6 months ago, we were recommended by our friend to join the Campbell Taekwondo Academy. At first we were reluctant since we have to commute far, but since our son was already in blue belt and had to move from other school we decided to give a try.
We couldn’t even be more happier than what we saw and after giving our son first tryout. Grand Master Lee showed our son the class and how he teaches the class. We are impressed on how Master Lee teaches the kids and emphasizes not only the meaning of taekwondo but teaches the values of life as we grow. Our son has already gone two promotional belts and working on his black belt. He also work even harder on his school studies and tries to maintain all A’s on his schools. This is simply our standard but Master Lee push him and his students to work hard to always get good grades.
Master Lee always emphasizes leadership, that when his kids grew up they all have to be leaders on any of their positions. This gives a boost to all the kids in his class. He is very patient but at the same time very determined to get his students to be disciplined and self-​motivated.
I highly recommended his classes and I also agreed to every one who have written excellent reviews about Master Lee.

My son just joined Master Lee’s class. He is very patient and firm with the kids. As mentioned in the other reviews, Discipline is priority at school and at home, focusing on good grades. Strengthening the kids’ character. I love the classes. Love the discipline of the kids. I would recommend this over any of the other centers, especially the one from across the street. I told Master Lee what I am struggling with my son and sure enough that’s what he is working on. Highly recomment this class. Try it. I have referred 2 friends and more to come.

My kids, ages 5 and 7, take classes from Master Lee. He is very firm but simultaneously very patient, and my kids actually seem to like the discipline once they got used to it! Much emphasis is placed on doing well in school, being focused, the importance of always trying your best, and discussion of the Tenants of Tae Kwon Do: Respect, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-​Control, and Indomitable Spirit.
We came here looking for a physical outlet for the kids and to give them some skills they would maybe need someday to protect themselves, but it has turned out to be so much more. Campbell TKD Academy is a great place for kids to start, and while I do not take Adult classes here I can see he has many adult students and has mentored many up to Black Belt. Big fans here of Campbell TKD and Master Lee.
