We did a fairly extensive renovation project – 3 bathrooms, one kitchen completely redone. Everything went smoothly, on time, and under budget! Need I say more?

I really had very good experience with Bay Area Design and Construction for our major remodel project recently. It was my second project with them and very soon we will use them for another project. The team are supportive and deliver high quality job.

We worked with Bay Area Design and Construction for a major remodel that ended a few weeks ago. We love our new home and loved working with them.
The project started out rough because of an architect we had hired who’s estimates (both time and money) were off by a large percentage and there were errors in his drawing. Wer were very frustrated.
Payman and Belen came on and not only fixed the architect drawing problems onsite and during the job but also did all the negotiations with the city and got the permit as quickly as possible. They really saved the project.
We added a second story of 1000 square feet and renewed the first floor with extended kitchen, making all the floors and ceilings the same height, refinishing all the floors, painting the entire house, changing all internal doors, and renewing the front yard.
I’ve never worked with a contractor who has been on time with deliverying as promised, even for much smaller projects. For this enormous project Payman gave us an estimate of 5 months. At the time we weren’t going to do much on the first floor other than paint and changing internal doors. The 5 months was only for adding the second floor. We added lots of work on the first floor including enlarging the kitchen and getting rid of an internal step in the middle of the living room and changing the fireplace. They still finished at 5.5 months! This was very significant for us because we were living there while the work was being done.
The employees are respectful, on time, and do good work. The home is so much more comfortable now and it is beautiful. We have had several people in the neighborhood ask us about the project because they had been impressed by how quickly it was done and how nice it looks.
Payman and Belen were a pleasure to work with. They care deeply about doing a great job and do extra work to make it easier on the customer. They have great ideas (extending the kitchen was Payman’s idea) and are very open to the customer’s ideas.
They are also very fair with price and do not nickel and dime the customer. Their final estimate was in the same range of the original estimate so there were no surprises.
We highly recommend them.

I highly recommend Payman and his amazing team! We had a full-​house remodel two years ago. Payman stayed within budget and always checked before doing anything we hadn’t already discussed.
The project manager, Belen, gave us great advice as we were planning the many details of our remodel. She was also very helpful in communicating with the rest of the team. Payman’s guys were on the job 6 days a week 8 – 5 and were always hard-​working and in good spirits. The whole project was completed in only 10 weeks!
We originally planned this renovation in order to put our house on the market but were so happy with the results that we decided to stay and enjoy our beautifully renovated home!

A job well done and a pleasure working with Payman. We redid our master bathroom, it was gutted and completed in the exact amount of time he said it would take. Cost was also the same as quoted, except for a few changes we had made. It’s been 1 year and I recently had a minor problem and he sent his men right out and the problem was taken care of, now that’s impressive. His crew were very talented and extremely polite. I would never hesitate to use Bay Area Design and Contruction in the future and would highly recommend them.

We added several things to the original plan and ended up with one week extra from the original estimate. Considering the added work we were pleasantly surprised. There were several teams each specialized on their trade. Some were good and some were great. Over all they completed their tasks in time and if there was something the core team came back and made sure everything was looking great. The nice thing is that you got to know the core team and gained trust. There were small misstakes but nothing major. The contractor is working on multiple projects and keeps a high pace. All were taken care off and some times we had to find a creative solution. Nothing that left a bitter taste.
If you are a perfectionist, do not mind the project to take a couple of months and want a dedicated contractor ²⁴⁄₇ it not might be the right choice. But be prepared that you will be paying more and the lead time would be much longer. Trust me we have interviewed a couple of people and seen other projects. But if you are not a perfectionist but still want high end finishes and no cutting corners on important parts, this should be a perfect match.
The logistics is very impressive and the crew was always in the right place on time. Only twice there was a gap day but then they made up the time by coming on a Saturday to make sure the project was on schedule. Not sure about most contractors but I have seen my fair share of projects around where there is no activity for a week. We have seen similar projects stretch out for a year. So a little slack here and there easily adds up. And honestly who has not been stood up by a handy man? This is probably the biggest positive thing when you are in the middle of the construction, the reassurance that there are workers and that they are actually working hard on your house.
We redid a 2200 sq ft home with a minor addition, about half of the house gutted and mostly 2 baths untouched, 2 bd. But since kitchen, 2 baths and laundry and the other rooms were, we are very impressed that 15 weeks were enough to transfer our home from an original 1959 home to one of the most updated and well architected in our neighborhood.
The most important advice is to look at other projects. Its always easier and less risk with a contractor that seems to be close in style and skill. That way misstakes are minimized and that saves both time and money and a lot of frustration.
