Bascom Surgery Center

The nurses are great, I would highly recommend them. The center is convenient (at least for South Bay residents), well-​kept, and pleasant with good parking. The follow-​up from nurses was great as well.
The office staff, however, has been lacking especially in the billing department. I paid via credit card over the phone prior to my procedure and was told that day and the day I checked in that I was paid and everything was fine. Then I got a bill saying I was past-​due about 6 weeks after my procedure. I spent a good amount of time on the phone with Bascom Surgery Center and my health care provider and HSA card issuer to determine whether the payment went through or not and apparently BSC never actually charged my card, so I paid again. Then I got another request to pay 2 weeks later. It’s been annoying to say the least.
Additionally, there is a billing phone # on the statements/​bills you get, but the lady who answers is snippy and will just give you another phone # to call and doesn’t even offer to transfer you. One time I made the mistake of asking her if she could transfer me and you would think I asked her to run a marathon it was so much effort for her.
I highly recommend this location for the medical side of things, but be prepared to keep track of the conversation dates and names and don’t let the Billing department run you around.

Surgery is pretty stressful. It was comforting to arrive at such a welcoming and professional establishment. Grant my nurse was awesome. The heated blanket on my bare legs after «gowning up» and the clear and distinct instructions about the surgical process and aftermath were much appreciated. Unlike a hospital the setting is small and intimate. Don’t let the size fool you, the facility was very clean, neat and tidy. The follow up call the next day was also appreciated. You are typically told by your doctor where you are having surgery because he or she makes the call. If the choice is Bascom Surgery Center, it is a good one. BTW, it is affiliated with Silicon Valley Surgery Center.

This was my second ACL and Meniscus repair surgery at Bascom Surgery Center and both experiences were terrific! No one looks forward to surgery; however, the warm, friendly, professional staff and exceptional nurses at this facility make the experience wonderful. You’re treated like royalty (kudos to Grant and Danielle, for your knowledge and compassion) from arrival through recovery and departure with all details explained and discussed. I hope to never need another surgery; however, if I do I hope to come here for service.

I have been to other surgery centers and this one is tops! The registration was easy, they called the day ahead to be sure it was on my calendar. The anesthesiologist called as well. All of the nursed were well educated and phenomenal. They took the nervousness right out of me and treated me like a queen.
If you need a procedure, this is the place to go!

Until a couple of weeks ago, I had never heard of a Jones fracture. All of the pain in my foot for several months suddenly made a lot of sense. In my case, a cast simply won’t get the job done. My podiatrist informed me that the only way to truly ensure that the bone heals is for a large screw to be inserted into my foot, so it’s off to the Bascom Surgery Center we go!
I was visibly nervous about going under the knife, so it was of great comfort that I was allowed to hang out with my wife through all of the pre-​surgery prep. Everybody here was courteous, friendly, compassionate and went out of their way to make me as comfortable as possible. Even the post-​op call I received a few days after surgery was amazingly friendly and caring.
Surgery is one of the least pleasant experiences that most people have to go through. The people at Bascom Surgery Center are wonderful at making a painful situation a little less scary. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Wow! Incredible, compassionate and professional care received here! I had both of my hands operated on during the same session, and Bascom Surgery Center and all of their staff from check in to wheelchair out to my waiting ride, was STELLAR, TOP NOTCH, and ELITE! Thanks for making the experience of a sccccarrryyy situation smooth and almost enjoyable!

The entire staff from the front desk to all the nurses are super nice and made my procedure more pleasant than i imagined! No surgery is fun but the presence of considerate and happy people makes a difference and eases ur fears… thanks for that

It’s never fun going under the knife especially when show up time is 6AM.
Everyone there was really great, happy and helpful.
Got phone calls before and after to answer any questions I might have.

I was quite anxious about my rotator cuff surgery, what a nice caring staff. I really appreciated their attentiveness and making sure my needs were met. Great bedside manner. I highly recommend Bascom Surgery Center.

Terrific surgery center, staffed with kind, caring & competent medical professionals. I would not hesitate to choose them for future OP procedures and highly recommend them.
