Love us some Robertos! Its a family-run business and they make a lot of the items from scratch. We feel like part of the family when we come here. You don’t come for some kind of contemporary or amazing style, its just a small, local, family-oriented pizzeria. The Pizza is very good. Its not the best in the area, but very good. We like NY/NJ style pizza with thinner crust than most people in Central PA. They make their dough fresh and we just ask them to thin it out and do it well done, which they do every time. Very good homemade pizza sauce here, that is what makes it. Other than that, the subs are off the hook. Again, fresh homemade rolls made from their own dough, way better than 90% of pizzeria subs… Also, their chicken salad is surprisingly good here. Very popular. On the entrees, they are overall good. Don’t expect fine dining, but more than decent pasta, eggplant, chicken, etc meals. Prices are excellent and the salads that come with entrees are excellent. Very good local, home-cooked Pizzeria, we are there at least once a week! PS — Its a BYOB, so bring your bottle of wine! But, bring glasses too, unless you are cool with the plastic cups they give you :)

I’ve had subs all over NYC, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, and Philly. These are the best I’ve ever had because of the bread. I recommend ordering one of the hot subs.

This is my #2 pizza joint in my local area, if my favorite spot is closed, I head for Roberto’s. Solid food, great, flexible hours, friendly staff. A bit of a ‘towny’ hang out, if you dont mind local high school kids milling about, but still a decent, basic pizza spot.

This review will be for their pizza. This past Sunday(3⁄8) I stopped-in to try a slice of pizza as part of my quest to find my favorite pizza in my new locale. I definitely was not disappointed, but am finding that every single pizza place I go to has once component that I really, really like, where some of the other components fall a little short. Food: I order the same thing at every new pizza place that I go to. Cheese pizza. It is the easiest way to benchmark every other pizza place against each other. Unfortunately, I did not have any friends with me, so I did not order any wings(another very, very important aspect to me). Despite that, I sat down with my slice of pizza and enjoyed it. Dough: The dough was slightly above average. It had a nice consistency to it, good flavor, springy texture(yet still tender), and it held-up really well against the sauce and the cheese. I hate dough that becomes soggy or overly-floppy from sauce and cheese! Dough: 3.5 /4 Sauce: This is the one component that I was fond of. It tasted like tomatoes! Some sauces taste overly-processed, overly-seasoned, or both. THis sauce had a nice, fresh tomato flavor, with a pleasant acidic bite to it that helped contrast the dough and the cheese. Despite how much I liked this sauce though, I am a fan of fresh herbs, and missed the flavor of fresh basil. I love a fresh basil undertone in my sauces, and this one fell a little flat there; but still very good. Sauce: 4⁄5 Cheese: The cheese might have been the most disappointing part; but not disappointing that it took-away from the pizza. For me, the top of the cheese did not get bubbly enough, and it was a touch too salty with the rest of the ingredients factored in. Despite that, there was a good amount of it, and it melted really nicely over the pizza. Cheese: 3⁄5 Overall Pizza Score: 3⁄5(3.5 rounded-down to a 3) Service: The service was friendly, courteous, and prompt. There was nothing that stood-out to me; neither in a good way, or a bad way Service: 3⁄5 Atmosphere: This is a nice, big space for a pizza place. It was really clean, and it had a television that I watched while I enjoyed my slice. I really liked the setup and the atmosphere of the restaurant, and for that, I would come back here with my family and enjoy a whole pie. Lastly, it felt warm and inviting. Atmosphere: 4⁄5 Price: My slice of pizza was 1.59 after taxes. For lunch, I cannot make anything cheaper(with the exception of chicken broth). The slice was gratuitous. Some pizza slices leave a little bit to be desired on size. This one definitely did not. As such, I feel like I got a very good value, for a quality slice of pie. Price: 4⁄5 Final Thoughts: I liked Roberto’s, and I will likely come back to try some other menu items — especially the wings. For now, I will continue to search my area for the pizza place that i deem to be my favorite. Though this was good, some slight balance issues with the salt and the lack of some fresh ingredients(more specifically, basil) prevented Roberto’s from being in the upper-echelon of pizza for me. I will return, but it did not impress me enough to return any time soon.

Very good bread on my Italian sub. The right amount of veggies, and seemed like a lot of locals were sitting down for lunch, which is always a good sign. No nonsense ordering, and I will definitely go back.

The bread for the subs is nice and soft; if you request hot peppers they aren’t the sissy vinegar ones most places give. The pizza is very reasonably priced. So far this is the best pizza I’ve found in the area.

I only rate this place a 3 but I LOVE the food. Staff is a little stand-off-ish but at the same time they are fast and friendly. The décor is very minimilist but I think that helps keep the prices as low as they are. Take the kids.

i’ve had subs from Roberto’s before but this is the first time i’d ever been in. half of the building seems to be in the process of renovation. under normal circumstances this wouldn’t bother me, but there isn’t much of delineation between what’s being fixed and what isn’t. the atm machine was near-impossible to reach as i happened to visit on the day they were re-tiling the floor. there was a definite smell which i attribute entirely to the building project. the men behind the counter were all smiles. they seemed a little annoyed by the goings-on in the building, or possibly the fact that Tinkerbell and friends was playing on the television. my food was done quickly and perfectly. the only issue i had with my food was the fact that it was well-wrapped and i couldn’t tear into it fast enough.
