Description

Specialties

Great Wine, Amazing Food and Legendary Hospitality.

History

Established in 1981.

Crystal Basin Cellars started under the house in Pollock Pines in 1981. Since 1988, Mike Owen and his merry band of pranksters have been creating wines and having fun. Starting with 3 barrels, they outgrew the cellar under the house and moved on to commercial winemaking in 2000 by sharing space at Gold Hill Vineyard. Perfecting the craft over a 6 year stretch at Gold Hill, an opportunity to move to Camino appeared in 2006. We’ve never looked back! Starting with 1,500 cases, we are now crafting more than 8,000 cases of wine each year for hordes of happy customers. In 2012, we opened our Bistro right next to the winery and it instantly became a favorite hangout for locals and wine friends alike!

Business Owner

Mike went to High School in El Dorado County and escaped for a while but got tired of crunching numbers in Silicon Valley and France.

He’s decided wine is more fun. You should sample a bit with him!
