This is my favorite burger anywhere, I even rate it higher than In n’ Out(though barely!) I was a customer on the first day they opened in H. Square and have been back about once a month ever since. The Fenway location is more enjoyable compared with the H. Sq location on service, cleanliness and atmosphere. In both restaurants, I wish they would cut down on the amount of TV’s in your face. Some people actually do enjoy talking to each other over a meal and not being blasted by live sports and advertisements every direction you look. At H. Sq, this applies to the bar downstairs only. Other improvements at H. Sq specifically include the bathrooms which unexplainably stink of bananas and are often overflowing with paper towel trash and litter. In the first year, Tasty had a really incredible rotation of craft beer that I wish they would go back to(such as High and Mighty from Holyoke) whereas now they tend to have one rotating tap and a lot of Sam Adams.

Literally the slowest and worst service I have ever had at a burger joint. Nearly a 30 minute wait for a burger at 8pm with a mostly empty restaurant. Incredible. Don’t go if you’re in a hurry.

(Upstairs) The food is good but the service is terrible. The majority of the staff is highly unprofessional and soooo slow… why does it take 15 minutes for French fries… they need to rehire pronto.

Eating in the downstairs section has been a family favorite for a while now. The food is good, they have beers, and the kids enjoy the place. Unfortunately, the last few times we have been here the service has been horrible. It takes way too long for someone to take our order, what’s delivered doesn’t match all that we ordered, and we can’t get anyone to continually pay attention to our table for the 1 hour we’re there. We had 4 – 5 different people come to our table last time, none of whom knew what we had asked for before. Unfortunately, my recent experiences seem to be consistent with others posting their reviews on here. I’ll still give them two stars for good past experiences, but my recent visits have all been a solid one-star.

I always get sick the next day after tasty burger, so I tried to change it up and this order resulted in the same illness the next day. However, regarding my trip to this tasty burger, we went downstairs and waited over 10 minutes to have the server come to take our order and then another 10 to get 3 beers, when we were one of 3 tables and the bar was half full. What happened? When she brought our food we ordered more beers because who knows when she would come back or how long it took them to get the beer.

It was a solid burger. For a $ 6 burger I enjoyed it a lot. I had a spicy jalapeño and a mushroom burger. Both were good. The jalapeño burger had a good kick to it. It was just the right amount of toppings. The mushroom burger felt too mushroomy if that makes sense. The sauce on it was good though. I went there to do trivia with friends. We didn’t so hot but I liked the experience. It’s a good place to eat burgers, drink beer and hang out with friends.

Gross veggie burger. Obviously frozen and then deep fried.

I like Tasty Burger but I will never eat at this one in Harvard Square again. The woman who took my order late on Saturday night was incredibly rude and incompetent. She doesn’t pay attention at all to the money she is handling and gave me the wrong change. It wasn’t off by much at all, but when I told her the change was short, she started laughing at me and making me feel like I’m a cheap asshole for expecting the correct change. It was a big joke to her and she sarcastically pulls change from her pocket and shoved it at me. I’ve never been treated so rudely by the employee of a restaurant in my life, nor made to feel completely unwelcome and uncomfortable in a Tasty Burger before. I asked to speak to the manager and they laughed at me. As I’m writing this review, standing at the counter, the staff is yelling at each other, swearing, it’s a total shit show here, you’ve got to wonder who is doing the hiring.

The amazing thing about this place is that it’s open until 4am. This means danger for me, since I’m always tempted to come here to get my late-night inner fat-kid on. Great burgers, although I usually get their turkey burger, those are always spot on. Their fries are alright, but their burgers though. I have a hard time not ordering a second one. They come in these neat little wrappings, that make eating on the go very easy. They have these thinly shaved onion rings that you can just eat with a fork like they’re noodles! Or my preferred method, grabbing fistfuls with literally no shame at all. Although, I have to admit after scarfing down an entire container of o’rings, it does feel like a lot of grease, batter, and regret. :P So, seriously. Just forget everything else and go for the burgers.

The burgers are good here, but the atmosphere is a bit weird to me and the place seems overpriced. I scoffed at the«starving student» deal for a beer and burger for $ 10, but these Harvard kids are loaded and we’re in Cambridge so I suppose that’s considered a deal. I’ve only eaten downstairs because that’s where they serve beer and wine, FYI. Oh, and one time someone who worked there turned on Harry Potter on ABC Family and that was good.

Redeeming feature is obviously the late night availability. On first(and probably only) visit, tried the after school special and rise & shine. Ideas were simple enough — addition of Mac&cheese and egg, respectively. Taste was just meh. Nothing too outstanding nor memorable. It all just blends in together. Expect your quotient of drunks and clueless college students during the witching hour.

Tasty Burger truly lives up to its name. I usually have the bacon cheeseburger with a chocolate shake, both of which are excellent. The bacon is crispy, the cheese is delicious, and the shake is creamy. The fries are also good, albeit a little salty. They are similar to In-N-Out fries. This location at JFK St. is very practical since it is very close to Harvard Square. Minus one star for service — the ladies that take your order at this location are very rude. During my last visit, the female employees were screaming and arguing with each other. They were so loud that I could hear them from the opposite side of the room. Then the cashier literally walked out of the restaurant and said«fuck this job» as she left. The managers should really focus on hiring more positive people or making the environment more welcoming. They’re lucky the food is good. Overall I think this place is up there with Shake Shack, In-N-Out, and Five Guys.

Thought I’d give this place a shot because a previous review compared it to in-n-out burger. Well I disagree and I left disappointed. Located in Harvard Square so I understand how busy this place can be between tourists and students. There was a hefty line, but like I said its in a popular location so that didn’t turn me off. Plus it gave me time to look over the menu.(: Got up front and the lady just stared at me. No greeting… nothing. So I stared back at her until she rudely said«Can I help you?» I told her my order(jalapeño burger combo with fries), and she didn’t say another word to me. Just slid my card and handed my receipt with my order number circled. Cool lol. Thanks Doll. About 10 minutes later they called my number and I finally had my food. I’ve had a crap ton of burgers in my life. Gourmet burgers, homemade burgers, $ 20 burgers, $ 1 burgers. I’ve even had mcdonalds burgers. McDonald’s burger beats theirs by a long shot. This burger tasted raw or something. It was a little too pink for my liking, but not only that … It completely lacked any kind of seasoning. Just, ugh. Two stars because I like their fries and they serve beer. Before you go out running to by their fries though … I should warn you that I’m a potato head and hardly ever dislike fries. Also I like salt and these were loaded with salt. I know that’s not something people usually like though, so that’s your fair warning. Oh, also this review is not based on their basement restaurant. This is on their fast food portion on the street level. Next time I’ll opt for Subway next door. Or if I REALLY want a burger McDonald’s isn’t too far either.

Basically Boston’s answer to In n’ Out Burger, but better since they have alcohol. This is my favorite spot. I break off relationships here so the girl associates this place with sadness and most likely will never return. That way there’s little chance of an awkward run-in on my frequent visits. Shake Shack can suck it.

Burgers are great, onion rings are a waste of money. Service is quick but the zit faced teenagers who work here are not friendly at all. Cashier was rude and the host downstairs was snotty. Don’t go downstairs with any take out and try to sit down and order a beer because they are full service and they don’t want those tacky white bags on top of the tables. Would be nice to clarify this on all those«Sit Downstairs!» signs. The customer service definite knocks this place down a peg for me. Good for a burger late night, just don’t take any guff from their obnoxious staff. At about $ 6 a burger(I ordered the Bacon Cheddar) I think the burgers were a great value. Very good burgers, I’ll give them that. They almost remind me of the good BK burgers from back in the day. They taste flame grilled as opposed to greasy.(I’m looking at you Five Guys!) They are substantial and have a good sesame seed bun. This to me is what is classic about a burger and definitely reminds me of getting them as a kid. The Onion rings and the drink made the combo about $ 11. The onion rings were junk so I would just order two burgers and a drink next time. I would honestly give this place more than 3 stars(3.5) because I loved the burger. If you have brats they have cool kids meal boxes. Ninja Tip: BR Code=552

Love this place. Like Shake Shack’s more down-to-earth and definitely divey-in-comparison sibling across the street. Cheaper than other burger options in the area, and will definitely give you the fix you need. Nothing fancy about them, but there are an array of creative choices — just check out the menu! I also remember the fries and onion ring portions being a bit large. And of course, as all have said, a lifesaver if you need some oily grub after 11pm. The only downside is the extremely long wait, which is generally worthwhile. Definitely recommended for a quick bite.

Food: 3⁄5 Stars Service: 2⁄5 Stars The wait is pretty atrocious during peak times, and the burgers in my opinion aren’t that great. Especially compared to shake shack which is just nearby as well as Boston Burger Co. Prices are also pretty steep(at least $ 5 for a regular burger) Some other notes: if you go late at night, there will be a lot of drunk people. The ketchup was out when I came on this particular occasion. Also, they take back your receipt when you pick up your meal which is dumb, because that means no one is going to have a receipt even if you actually wanted to keep a copy of it… Goodnews is that you can get a kidsmeal(which is what I got most recently) which comes with fries, drink and a cheeseburger(or some other choices).

I had the Turkey Burger, which was okay. I appreciate that you can order any of the burgers with a turkey patty instead of beef, but the patty itself is the problem. A bit dry and definitely lacking in flavor. The beef burgers must be a lot better…

Oh man. Where should I start. I’ll keep this short and simple. I was drunk. I was hungry. It was 3 am. I wanted mexican food, but a friend recommended this place and insisted we should go… I was MORETHANSATISFIED. I went with the bacon cheeseburger and small fries, and ugh. that was the perfect choice to end the night(or actually I kind of regretted how I felt about myself after finishing the whole thing in 5 minutes) Anyways, great late night food, burger was perfect, the fries were even better, I was happy, my scale wasn’t.
