Savage Insurance

I was a customer for over 3 years… both car and home-owners…but when I decided to switch to another company that provided cheaper rates: THE BS came out.
After I informed them that I had switched and followed up with proof 3 – 4 times: THEY HAD THE NERVE TO SEND MY ‘OUTSTANDING’ BILL TO COLLECTIONS.
Really, what part I freaking have another insurance please cancel my policy dont you idiots understand???
Its like a loooong drawn out break-up…hell I have gotten rid of boyfriends faster.
This crap has been going on for 2 months… like how the hell do send a customre to collection after they have dropped you!!! Do you not speak english?
So, I gave the little guy a chance but from now I will not deal with such scammers.

I’ve been a client of Savage insurance off and on for over 25 years — and I’ve been ‘on’ for the last 10 years.
Richard Savage is the consumate insurance guy, and I mean this in the best possible way.
He goes out of his way to be helpful, convenient, to be a friend. He has bailed me out of some really stupid things I’ve done.
His staff is VERY experienced and helpful.
I find it all but impossible to believe that he was ever intentionally rude to a client — you would have to be a huge ass many times over to get on Richard’s bad side — and I still believe he would just tell you to please find another agent. As far as cost, I’m sure I could save a couple of dollars on my aggregate car and house insurance policies, but I depend on the kind of service Savage offers. Its well worth it — that and his off-​the-​wall presence and humor.

Try to find another place. I was a customer for four years. Bad experience. I never got any bonuses for excellent driving, always paid a lot for the low coverage. When accident happened I couldn’t reach my provider for days. I called Savage twice for help. He promised to call me back but never did it. Moreover he was absolutely rude. Now I am a customer of Dudley/​Borland & Ellis on Harvard Square. There are many more better companies in the area, just search.

I’ve been a customer of Savage Insurance for nearly 10 years now, since I first came to live in the Boston area. Richard Savage is really the nicest man, knowledgeable and friendly and would never steer you wrong. I’ve had a couple of accidents in the last few years, purchased new cars, etc. and everything has been a smooth transition. I’ve had car and rental insurance through them – great value and incredible service.

Savage Insurance is the epitome of Inman Square. Richard Savage is always there and his trusty side kick assistants are always more than happy to help you with your car/​house insurance. Walking in the office is like walking into your neighbor’s house in 1983. There is a Fred Astaire poster on the wall. A couple of (what I think are Marx bros.) figurines in the window. Mr. Savage himself ready with an anecdote or joke. They take care of your Ins. woes and it’s stress free. Mr. Savage gets a kick out of himself and I get a kick out of going here– in a time warp, friendly neighbor seal of approval way.
If you register /​insure your car with them they will get your plates for you re: no trip to RMV for you:)
