I treat a variety of soft tissue conditions through the use of Myofascial Release and Orthopedic Massage in combination with my knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and kinesthesiology. My goal is to understand the root of my patients’ aches and pains via postural analysis, interviewing, orthopedic testing, and palpation.

Business Owner

Robert has been a licensed massage therapist since 2011, although he has been practicing informally on friends and family since childhood. This experience has given him a masterful ability to isolate the specific tension patterns and resulting systemic consequences in a person’s tissues. Combined with knowledge gained from a B.S. in Biology, certification in Orthopedic Massage, and his passion for understanding the workings of the human body, he tailors his massage sessions to each specific client. Robert uses a variety of techniques including Orthopedic Massage, Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, and Swedish Massage. Robert aims to continue his education with training in Shiatsu and, eventually, a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Highly recommend trying Robert as a massage therapist. I go to him regularly due to chronic muscle tension. I’ve tried several different MT’s over the years and Robert really stands out from the pack:
1) He’s been the most effective among all of them
2) He’s the only one that took on the challenges of working in difficult areas that have a lot of nerves and blood vessels, like hip flexors– this is where one of my biggest problems was and no one else dared to get into it.
3) If Robert isn’t sure how to approach something, he’ll do his homework and figure it out. He was the only MT that went beyond the session to help me by emailing me questions and looking things up that helped him find an effective approach.
With Robert James in the field, other MTs need to step their game up!

I’ve been to many massage therapists over the years of athletic injuries I’ve endured, and so I can safely judge when I know a REALLY good therapist. Robert has this 6th sense about muscles, and can find the root causes of my issues with his magic hands. I used to have chronic back pain, after a slipped disc, and thanks to this angel-​of-​a-​therapist, I have a new lease on life. Go see him, you’ll thank me for it!

Once you go to this man, your ideas about massage therapy will be forever changed! He works like a surgeon without ever needing to cut you open — amazing. His focused attention and somatic awareness are nothing but intense in the best way! He’s been essential for pain management in my right arm, due to a wrist injury from 12 years ago. I’ve had months of relief at a time with Robert’s help, rather than the constant nagging pain I used to experience. TOTALLY recommended!

I am so grateful I found Robert, he is a truly amazing LMT. He has the sensitivity, knowledge, and wherewithal to sense when, where, and how to get to the root of my musculoskeletal issues. I have been seeing a PT and a chiropractor for over a year and have no made any significant progress until seeing Robert. He seems to really care about helping people feel better and find healing rather than merely finding temporary relief from symptoms. He is THE BEST of the BEST!

Wow. I have found my new go to guy. Robert is incredible. Like other reviewers have noted, his knowledge of anatomy rivals and is probably better than any MD.

Robert is magic. I have recommended him to all of my friends and teammates, and I am pretty much hooked on his method. Besides his obvious talents as an OMT and LMT, what I really enjoy about seeing him is the fact that he really loves his work and clearly takes a lot of pride in it. I really really recommend Robert, especially to athletes and people who are recovering from injuries.

I am so happy to have found Robert. I have been seeing him since 2012 for upper back pain management. Robert gave a phenomenal myofascial massage to help relieve the built up tension of chasing (and lifting) my two headstrong children. He is gentle and able to get the knots out each and every time without any after effects of a deep tissue massage. He is consultative and takes the time to understand what each patient needs and exceeds expectations each and every time. I have been seeing Robert regularly and will continue to do so until all my pains are gone! Thank you, Robert and see you again soon!

I’m really happy to have found out about Robert James. I’ve been seeing him for fibromyalgia and also an old injury. With regular appointments, I’m in much less pain and have much more freedom of movement. It has made a big difference in my quality of life.
I definitely recommend him if you have fibro!
