History

Established in 2011.

Danzan Ryu Boston opened it’s doors in October of 2011 as the only public Danzan Ryu Jujitsu school in the Greater Boston area. We are also the only place in Boston to receive the Danzan Ryu style of deep tissue bodywork. The Deep Tissue bodywork license was grated by the City of Cambridge in January of 2012.

Business Owner

Ryan S. began his martial arts training in Danzan Ryu Jujitsu in 2002. He trained at MIT Kodenkan from 2003 until 2009. Ryan received the rank of Shodan (1^st Black Belt) in 2006. Ryan then moved from MIT to Brandeis University in 2009 and formed Danzan Ryu Boston. Ryan curentlyhold the ran of Sandan (3^rd Black Belt) from the American Judo and Jujitsu Federation

Ryan started studying the DZRSI (Deep tissue bodwork, elbow massage) program in 2004 and has completed the full 650 hours program. Ryan is also an instructor for the first 150 hour course (MOD 1). Ryan has also completed the first level of training in the Original Okazaki Restoration Massage from Keith Okazaki in 2012.
