Met a friend for lunch today. I had the fish and chips and she had the soup and half sandwich. My fish and chips was very good and I really enjoyed the meal and the service was great and I can say that it is definitely worth going there for lunch. Again the Waiter and the guy with the glasses, who served the food were hot to look at. Bill

This restaurant is very overpriced. It cost over $ 20 for pasta that didn’t even fill us up. It does have a nice ambiance but overall, I thought the meal was average.

The roof deck is one of the best ones in Cambridge. Overall the place is really spacious which is great because it does tend to get pretty crowded. But the deck is a good mix of sit down dinner tables and places to just hang out and drink which is really nice to have the option. The food is decent — nothing spectacular just typical pub food but definitely works if you are looking to eat and the space itself makes up for it.

I only ordered a risotto special with shrimp calamari(paying about $ 25 total, including tip). I thought that my food was pricy for the small portions given, but pretty rich in taste and flavor. It was alright, I suppose, but I went for dessert elsewhere

I enjoyed this place. The vibe was nice and the staff was very friendly. The food was also pretty good. My boyfriend and I got 2 of the specials and they both were great.

A great place to get drinks at Harvard Square when everything closes down. Perhaps the best bar close to the river. However, the food is at best mediocre and the cocktails are fairly standard. The staff is friendly and the place has a great vibe. They even have an outdoor patio.

The staff are super nice. Got a Weihenstephaner on tap that was alright and an excellent Moscow Mule that was served in a mason jar(classic Cambridge). Also got an order of calamari — they do it interesting by frying jalapeño rings with the squid. It makes for an interesting combo but it hides the fact that the portion of actual calamari is smaller. Plus, I would’ve preferred a side of marinara instead. You’ll find better for the same price in the North End but it’s great bar food in the heart of Harvard Square nonetheless.

The place was ok. Reasonable prices. There was nothing remarkable about the service. I ordered a Mediterranean Omelet with fruits. By far this was not the best omelet. Unfortunately, would not visit them again.

If you’re looking to go for lunch, forget it. Twice this summer I’ve tried to get lunch here, on my leisurely lunch hour, and it’s been unbearably slow. The last time(the *last* time) we went, the waitress was attentive, but it took our food 45 minutes to arrive on our table. I was going into a coma. If we had known they were so backed up, we wouldn’t have ordered. Waitstaff — let people know ahead of time if the food is going to take more than 20 minutes! Jeesh!

Daedalus was PACKED after head of the charles but they squeezed my friend and me in a booth(there were 4 of us total). Thank you. HOWEVER they were keeping multiple tables open because there weren’t enough waiters(said the hostess), so our friends just awkwardly stood next to us rather than letting us sit in a larger booth, so that was odd. The food was super fast, so points for that too.

What an awesome place! Great food menu, beers selection, chill vibe, and awesome roof deck perfect for summer evenings! It’s been a while since I lived in the Boston area, but know this would be my go-to if I was back. During my 1 week trip back to the states found my way here 3 times to try the other food items on the menu I’d wanted to order the last time and just meet up with friends and family in a great environment.

I met a few friends here last night for drinks so my review has no reflection on the food. This was a really fun place and the atmosphere was excellent. It had a huge diverse crowd which is always fun, both for meeting others and people watching. I would assume that there were probably 1/3−½ students to 2/3−½ professionals so you have a young demographic at this place. The two negatives I have against them are the price of the drinks and the wait. I think they need to increase the size of the bar to serve the amount of people and charge what they do. I should have gone downstairs for a drink(downstairs bar was empty), but was told I may not get back up. If I was able to do that then I would not have had this complaint. The price, at $ 10/drink seems a little steep since there was nothing too special about them, but it also isn’t crazy high so I am not complaining too much. The obvious huge plus about the place is the large rooftop area. There isn’t much of a view, but you can see some nightlife around you as well as be outside. The air is a little stagnant with all the large umbrellas open, but its still an expansive rooftop bar with some breathing room. This looks like it would be a great place for a weekend lunch outside. Advice to patrons: — keep group size from 2 – 8. This is not a place to come solo and any more than 8 and your group will be too large to slip into the open spots. — have a drink or two at home or somewhere else before coming here. It just takes a while to get a drink and you will want to spend your time outside, not waiting in line. Advice to staff: — consider increasing size of bar upstairs. — consider closing some of the umbrellas once the dinner crowd is gone and the bar crowd show up. — train bartenders to pour drinks a more consistently. No one wants to wait in line just to get a mediocre drink. I look forward to trying the food here.

One of my favorite spots to grab a drink — the entire establishment is pretty generously-sized, and, as many have noted, features a deck upstairs that’s perfect for summertime hangs. I haven’t eaten here much, but my impression is that things are a bit pricey. Would be a nice date place, for sure. Recced!

Updated — +1 star for the roof deck! Came here on a wonderfully warm Saturday night at 8pm. Didn’t have to wait for a seat or anything! The roof deck is huge. Really nice atmosphere, and perfect place to spend a few hours for drinks or a meal in the summer!

Came here on a sunny Sunday afternoon craving a rooftop deck. Really cute upstairs deck, shaded enough for you to feel the sun but not have it glaring in your face. I recommend sharing your appetizers. The calamari is served with hot cherry peppers [which was also peanut breaded] and chipotle aioli for a little bit of kick and the crab salad [which seems to be a Sunday item as I can’t find it on the regular menu] is light and peppery. [and gorgeously presented if I may say so — that’s where the 4 star rating is coming from]

Daedalus has been on my list for long due to it’s popular roof deck. However, this brutal winter made it impossible to enjoy a luncheon outdoors, so I succumbed to an opportunity to dine inside the bar/restaurant. My friends and I were looking for a bar to watch a basketball game. All other bars in the vicinity were either packed or did not have a TV. We tried our luck at Daedalus and were pleasantly surprised by the numbers of TVs and available seating. My group was seated on the second floor, where we had a booth and a TV all to ourselves. We weren’t allowed to turn the volume on, which wasn’t too bad. That’s what subtitles are for, right? We had to have some appetizers and drinks for game day. The drinks were average at best. They were either hits or misses. I enjoyed my Moscow Mule — vodka, ginger beer, lime juice, and garnished with a slice of lime. It came in a cool bronze cup. There was a refreshing taste to it and it had just the right amount of kick. The Hendrick’s was interesting. It was a gin and tonic but not in a cocktail form. I was presented with glass full of gin and a bottle of tonic. I wasn’t clear on how to drink it… Was I supposed to chug the gin and chase it down with a few sips of the tonic? A word of instruction would’ve been helpful. We also got a couple of orders of buffalo wings and truffle fries. Note: meager serving sizes. 3 pieces of wings and a few celery/carrot sticks came with each order. The wings were swimming in a pool of buffalo sauce, which made the first bite extremely pungent. I would pass on the wings next time. The truffle fries were okay. They were on the soft and chunky side. They tasted pretty delicious while we were buzzed. Besides the lack of quality in the food, the service was also subpar. Our waitress was unsympathetic and uninterested the whole night. When we asked for water, she only brought us one glass. We wanted to order more food because the portions were small, only to be informed that the kitchen had already closed. It was only around 11 pm. Regardless, we would have really appreciate a last call! Overall Daedalus is a just another option if you need a place to chill around Harvard Square. Maybe, just maybe, the roof deck dining in warmer months will change my mind.

Great brunch spot! Nice ambience, especially in the spring with plenty of sunshine from all the skylights/windows. Both my friend and I got the eggs benedict brunch special — the one with avocado and smoked salmon. Sooo good. The eggs were poached to a gooey perfection and the home fries were really tasty — normally I eat these with ketchup but this was good with just the seasoning.

Food: 3 stars Service: 3 stars Solid place to get pub food and a beer. They have a lot of the typicals and the portion for price ratio is decent. I came for a company event and stayed near the bar area on the top floor. Ordered some wings, fries and sliders. Can’t say it was particularly amazing but definitely hits the spot if you’re craving pub food. Good selection of beers and other drinks. I think if you’re looking for a slightly more foodie experiences I would recommend their sister restaurant Boat House which is a couple doors down to the west side.

Daedalus is a great place to catch up with friends. The second floor has plenty of space, and the large windows on the ceiling help make the place feel open. You can see some of the redbrick Harvard architecture through the windows! The place attracts the local Harvard and Cambridge crowd without the tourists. The second floor at Daedalus hits peak hours around 9:30 — 11:30, and begins to quiet down after midnight. So it’s not a super late night place, but I would definitely recommend their mai tai. It’s pink, sweet, and delicious. In fact, order two!

On a beautiful day, you come here for the roof deck! However, there are no phone reservations allowed for the roof deck — but it is worth the wait. The beer and cider menu is excellent. To Do: 1) All Seafood related items(especially the crab cake sandwiches and Blacken Swordfish Salad) 2) Bruschetta is sooo good. It’s only Bruschetta but excellent. 3) Sweet Potatoe Fries! 4) Mussels! It’s modern American food, not over the top, but good. The service is a little slow and make sure you gab him/her before you completely run low on your drink. But all and all, I love this place!!!
