Bite Kite

I like Bike Kite in concept — but for the price — the food quality is sub-​par. I feel like they need to rethink the meals. Salads/​Soups/​Sandwiches — things that may travel better than their current fare.

First time using it and last time. Placed my order and I got the little map showing the delivery guy. Never saw the guy move. Then I get an email saying «Congratulations! Your order was delivered!» No way to contact them as they don’t give out a phone. I had a coupon so I didn’t lose any money, but horrible first impression. Never using them again

First, as others have said, the food you receive is generally inedible. The food is cooked in Malden and driven around for hours — so it’s either cold, or soggy or otherwise deficient.
Second, the delivery time is highly variable — sometimes taking hours. I had to buy another lunch because the delivery was so severely delayed.
I tried it a few times waiting for the concept to work — but it never did. Never again…

I’ve had some decent meals but in my last two orders things did not go well. A week or so ago the order failed to go through; they apologized and said my next order would be free. Today I ordered at 12:50 from my car in East Cambridge because I wanted a simpler meal than I would get in a restaurant, but I didn’t want a sandwich. The order went through, it seemed, but nobody called or came for nearly an hour. I sent an email and was told that they had run out of the food I wanted, and someone tried to call me and failed. He did say they would bring me one of the other meals, but these two snafus plus containers that don’t stay closed (or keep the food warm), and the lack of a phone number to call when things go wrong make it foolish to order from them unless you have alternative food on hand. In addition, the app will store your credit card info but not your address; each time I order from my home address, the GPS has the street number wrong, and sometimes it’s hard to correct the address. (PS — the food did come, and they brought two of it – but I didn’t want TWO lunches, I wanted ONE lunch a whole lot more promptly.)

Super fast and delicious. How can this service get any better? Its critical they expand their service to new locations. They are absolutely doing it right. My lunch is always around in less than 10 mins and the food is affordable and gourmet.

Ordered the risotto milanese with beef and asparagus. Delivery was super fast, however beef was «meh» and risotto was blah; undercoocked, dry and sticky. Asparagus were a bit overcooked. Will try one more time to give them a chance as they’re relatively new.

Had a free trial in the office of Bite Kite’s meals. I must say the overall impression was very good. Food was tasty if a bit salty and a little bit dry (docked one star). The three options supplied were diverse and good. What we especially liked was the addition of vegetables and a ‘different from the everyday’ selection given our limited food buying options in the Lechmere area of Cambridge. Portion size was perfect for lunch.
For the convenience of the service alone, I would try them a few more times. As they are a relatively new service — the product can only get better.

The food was pathetic. The chicken was hard as a rock and food was quite cold.

I just ordered «chicken marsala» and was very disappointed
The food arrived in a box with the lit open. I wouldn’t trust that it is clean.
The chicken looks terrible like a frozen reheated chicken (nothing like the picture), a few dry mushrooms under the chicken and «marsala sauce» in a plastic container that looks more like half grease.
Hospital food would have been better. I had to throw the food away and order something else.

Bite kite is too good to be true, except it is! I just ordered 10 mins ago and already received my phone. With such a speedy time I was a little suspicious and expecting cold, mediocre food. This was far from the case! My food was warm and über tasty. I will definitely be ordering from bite kite again… if they continue to have more vegan options, which is why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5.

Had a delicious meal of risotto with braised beef from Bite Kite. Their app wasn’t accepting my credit card but they promptly responded to my e-​mail and arranged the delivery that way. The food was very tasty and the portions were large — I had enough left over for lunch the next day!

Excellent, balanced food. Quick delivery on a plate, ready to eat. What a great concept! Great beverages and fair, low prices.

I LOVE THIS! I had downloaded the Bite Kite app a few weeks ago, but didn’t give it much of a look. Yesterday I was jammed with meetings, couldn’t figure out how to get lunch, and remembered the app. I thought it couldn’t hurt to try. Boy, was I impressed! My meal, grilled spicy shrimp with an avocado salad, was probably a B+. But it arrived in 6 minutes and was healthy and fresh and LESS THAN $ 10! That’s including the delivery and tip. I liked it so much that I ordered again today and my meal (curried coconut chickpea stuffed sweet potato with sautéed spinach) was more like an A-​, very flavorful and delicious. Portions aren’t large, but actually I really appreciate that as it is enough to be filling, but I don’t overeat as I might at a restaurant or takeout joint. If the food took longer and/​or was more expensive, I wouldn’t be as excited, but the combination of price, speed, health and flavor make this an absolute winning combination. And the app is gorgeous. Thanks Bite Kite!

We were waiting for a service like this to open in Boston since San Fran has a few (Spoon Rocket) We HATE having to figure out what to have for dinner every night so this seems perfect. It’s basically a fast (but healthy) food delivery service with three meals to choose from every night.
This is a unique food delivery service to Cambridge, because it just delivers meals during weekdays Mon– Thurs –dinnertime 6 – 7:30pm and lunch 11:30−1pm. They have three complete dinner selections to choose from, including one vegetarian option. Lunch is $ 8 – 10 and dinner is $ 10 – 12 dollars. They charge $ 1 – 2 for delivery, which includes tip (wow!) I would love to see the meal prices little lower for dinner but I think that will happen with more competition in the market.
The food– The first night we ordered we were in love with our food I got beer braised tarragon chicken with smashed potatoes and green beans. It was amazing the chicken was super tender and flavorful the potatoes were great the green beans were bland but overall the meal was fantastic. My boyfriend got Louisiana shrimp cakes with sweet potatoes and he thought it was really good. Since then I’ve generally liked every meal I’ve ordered though often the meat is flavorless without the extra sauce they provide. My major complaint is that sometimes we get surprised with a side or vegetable change that isn’t in the description. Generally it’s okay, but one time we got baked potatoes with unmelted cheddar cheese on top that reminded me of a school lunch side. If you have allergies or dislikes I recommend checking their facebook page for a picture before ordering or emailing them.
I definitely recommend bite kite for a nice meal in and I think it’s a more affordable option compared to other delivery services that charge a delivery fee and a percentage of the food and tip. I’m interested to see what other meals they come up since they’re pretty new.

This SpoonRocket clone delivers and delivers quickly! I ordered my meal at 6pm and the driver was here by 6:06pm. Ice tea was super refreshing, the meal was delicious and even included utensils. I am going to eat here every day as long as they stay in business…
