This place deserves the solid 4.5 star rating that it has been given. There is nothing not to like about Armando’s. From the classic, red booth seats to the incredible pizza slices, it is perfect. The pizza here is zen. If you haven’t tried a pice at Armando’s before, give it a go. If you have gone, keep going!

Went there based on newspaper and Unilocal comments and was not disappointed! My husband and I loved their pizza. We got onions, garlic and extra cheese. The cheese was perfect. Great taste, a bit gooey and not too thick. Great sauce and an ample amount of the other toppings. We love pizza in general and adored this pizza in particular! They make Sicilian pizza to order and that means waiting 45 minutes for the dough to rise. We will try it next time. You can get Sicilian and regular pizza though by the slice with no wait. It is a neighbor place outside of Harvard Square and worth the detour. Cash only. Six or so tables. Yum.

Okay — I’m self-admittedly a pizza snob raised in NYC and NJ. If you are not one, then disregard my review. If you are looking for pizza similar to what we have back home — then read on. Armandos is by far the best pizza in a 5 mile radius. It is exquisite. I would eat their pizza every day. Crust, ingredients, everything is top notch. I gave it a 4 and not a 5 because they only take cash and their customer service is poor. One time they messed up my order and I had to argue with one of the guys who accused me of lying about my order. It was utterly ridiculous, but damn the pizza was too good so I came back.

Owner is a very cool guy, ordered five pizzas today, it was actually pretty good pizza, and light dough. More of a to go place, limited seating.

I don’t think I will find pizza like this over in Somerville. It is hands down, the BEST pizza I have had in Boston. Never a bad experience.

My wife and I were very happy with the half tray of Sicilian we got. A nice chewy crust with ample toppings(we got pepperoni & mushroom) and a crispy bottom. Compares favorably with Pinocchio’s and Leone’s, if you’ve been checking out other Sicilian style pizzas in the area. Of course, cooking a Sicilian takes a bit of time, but they will deliver to a limited area. Also the guy who took our order and the delivery guy were very friendly, which counts for something. Give them a try.

Without a doubt the best pizza in Cambridge, if not Boston. Run by really kind people, it feels like a neighborhood place in the best sense. The cheese pizza is superb, with a good crisp to the crust and sauce that isn’t too sweet. The sausage is also great, and it’s sliced not ground. Cash only but prices that are more than competitive with the chain places. Delivery is usually significantly longer than carry out, which even on Fridays is often 30 minutes or less.

I wanted to give this place 4.5 stars because it really only falls short of Emilio’s for me, but they don’t let you do that. GIVEME A BREAK, Unilocal. Anyway, we were driving around trying to find another pizza place and stopped at Armando’s instead. Happy accidents are the best kind of accidents, right? The pizza is unreal. The cheese blend is really great and the crust has a thin bottom but puffy crust — my favorite! Also we walked in to order takeout and were out of there in under 10 minutes. Don’t let the wood paneling scare you — this place is top notch!

The fact that there are many reviewers here comparing this to quality New York pizzerias is laughable. It’s not bad pizza, it’s just mediocre. Ordered a large pepperoni. Quality of ingredients was just not that good. Not enough sauce and the crust was dry and bland. With many better choices in the Boston area I will not be ordering from Armando’s again.

Been going there 35 years! No better Italian pizza exists in my opinion. This is a traditional Mom & Pop stop! Showing off all the local kids baseball teams on the walls since I could remember. They also have square pizza now that is also incredibly delicious! To be honest, I don’t know about the rest of the menu, I go here for pizza whenever I’m home!

I just want give ten stars to their service. Their pizza is the best in the world. They have special dough! Thin yet crust and juicy. You will know in first bite, how these two opposite description for their pizza I give. Especially Their Hawaiian, and Italian sausage with mushrooms and onion are my favorites. And this place has been run down three generations, and have numerous regulars in neighbors.

This place is so good. I don’t think I’ve found a place where I can order without knowing about it and turn out that great. The pizza I had yesterday was serious stuff, pepperoni, sausage, basil and garlic — wicked tasty. Definitely give this place a taste, well worth the walk in Cambridge or the drive if you’re in surrounding areas! Oh, and they’re quick too!

Best pizza in Cambridge. As a New Yorker, this is the only slice that even compares. Sausage Slice, Eggplant Slice, Sicilian Slice, and an Orange Soda and I’m set.

We love this pizza place! Whenever we’re on that side of town that’s where we eat! We’ve only ever ordered their pizza, but have been doing so for at least 15+ years!

Hands down, one of, if not the best pizza in the greater Boston area. The dough is soft on the inside, a nice crisp exterior, very cheesy, and the sauce is not bland, there’s just enough if everything to taste all the ingredients on the pie. If your every in the fresh pond area of Cambridge look them up. They are a cash only spot so have your $ bills ready, or prepare for a trip across the street, to the high fee atm.

A local favorite. This is the best no nonsense pizza I’ve had in Cambridge. Just the right amount of sauce and cheese, crust is always crispy. Off the beaten path a bit but totally worth the trip.

We were visiting Harvard and wanted to try something from this area. From all the Unilocal reviews I have read, we decide to try this neighborhood favorite that been here for years. Since we were catching a flight later that day, we ordered a calzone and steak and cheese sandwich. The food was delicious, everything was made to order and fresh. Since we knew the calzone was take a while to cook, so we order the sandwich to eat first. However didn’t expect it was so big and filled us up. The sandwich was stuffed with steak and the cheese was melted over the steak and was just sliding out while we were eating. We didn’t expect the calzone to be so big, it was basically the size of a regular pizza and just folded in half and baked. The outside of the calzone was doughy, fluffy and bake to the right amount of crunch. The calzone was filled inside. Even though we just ordered it with pepperoni and cheese with their sauce. Since we were already full, we just had to take a bite when it came out just to try it. We knew it was going to be a good dinner on the plane back to Cali since it was going to be a long flight without a plane change. Everyone around us was asking what we had too, made it a little hard to be eating and having someone look at you. I don’t remember exactly how much I paid for the sandwich and the calzone, but it was around $ 20. Since it was cash only place.

So this is «Eek! Methinks not.» — Unilocal’s definition of 1-star — only because it would be A CRIMEAGAINSTYOURTASTEBUDS to choose this place over«The Village Kitchen» which is a five-minute walk down the street. Somehow they both have 4.5 stars — maybe because of the local sports teams, the support of which is the one thing that Armando’s has over The Village Kitchen. Independent of that, I’d give it 3.5 stars. Pizza is pretty darn good. Crust is done well. Sauce is well-flavored, but they don’t use enough of it. Not sure if it is because of the preponderance of cheese or cheese quality, but there was a bad lingering aftertaste. Without that, it would be 4 stars; without that and with more sauce, 4.5.

The pizza is pretty good. The only thing that I don’t too much care for is you have to let it cool off a lot before eating because the cheese and topping slide off the slice. I feel that its a little outdated being one of the only establishments in the area thats cash only.
