History

Established in 2012.

We 3 couples of Amphora Gallery have been artists most of our lives. Art shows, craft fairs, and galleries across the country have been our way of making a living at our crafts. We have been friends for 3 decades and finally joined forces to open our gallery together in November of 2012. Having a brick and mortar presence in Cambria, our home, has been wonderful and we all travel less thanks to our Amphora Gallery.

Meet the Business Owner

Peggy V.

Business Owner

We are a small cooperative, jointly owned by 3 couples. My husband Michael Miller and I (EarthSea Pottery) gathered our long time friends to join forces with us in opening Amphora Gallery in 2012.

Michael began his clay career in 1967 studying art at Pierce College and UCSB. We met in 1981, making pottery together for over 30 years now.

Fox and Lois Garney, (Foxlo Pottery) met in the ceramics department at San Jose State State University and have been making pottery together since 1970. Fox throws the pots for Lois to carve, incising with tools into the clay to give texture and design.

Gary Gall, ceramic artist studied under Ralph Pasero at Otis and recieved his degree from CSULA, making pottery since 1972, and

Brenda Gale (Escape Artist) works in Acrylics primarily and graduated from Platte College of Design, and illustrated childrens books while teaching herself to paint.
