Tri Running

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. I’ve never considered myself a runner and just purchased my first pair. Michelle was extremely patient with all my questions and very helpful in guiding me in the process.
First time I EVER feel excited to run.

I’ve been here a couple times and will no longer be giving them my business. I run marathons and usually buy my shoes from Roadrunner in Newbury Park because I love their selection and process for fitting you to the right type of shoe. I became dissatisfied with Roadrunner because they are almost always understaffed and it’s hard to get good service. A friend recommend Tri Running to me so I thought I’d check it out since it is closer to me. The guy who helped me out is the same guy I’ve ever dealt with when I’ve been in there (Brian maybe?). The first time I went in I had a great experience. He let me try on a ton of different shoes and even watched the way that I run to make sure I was with the right type of shoe. Came to find out their shoes are a bit pricey.
I brought a friend of mine in who isn’t too into running but was interested in running. Brian was just so snooty towards him and was telling him everything he had been doing wrong up to this point as far as wearing insoles for his flat feet etc. (remember that my friend was just a beginner runner).
I went in a third time for shoes with no major issues but my idea of Brian had already been skewed.
The next (and LAST) time I came in I was looking for triathlon gear. I had signed up for my first sprint triathlon and was looking for a tri suit to wear. Brian consistently was trying to ask me WHY I wanted a tri suit and that I shouldn’t get one unless I was serious about triathlons. Excuse ME Brian, but I will wear whatever I damn well please for my first triathlon and you can’t tell me whether or not I’m serious about triathlons, you don’t know me. He is just so rude and demeaning when it comes to service. I understand that he is probably a professional athlete and all, but that doesn’t mean everyone else is and that doesn’t mean you can treat people like they are insignificant.
My friend once was going to be running a half marathon and she went in there and shared her goal time with Brian. He downright told her that her goal was not realistic and she shouldn’t expect to finish in that time, if at all. WOW, just WOW. There you have it. I will not be giving them my business any longer.

This was my first time going to the store, the gal who got stuck working during the fair was more than happy to help me out finding a good pair of trail shoes. Excellent service and I got some kick ass shoes. Definitely coming back here, their selection of shoes include some top knotch brands for the best quality possible!

I am an online shopper. However I needed some specific help with a new wetsuit. Brian was amazing. From product and sport knowledge to fit Brian was amazing. He listened well to my issues with my current suit, measured me and while he did not have what he wanted, was happy to order it. I think he cares as much as i do that I find a wetsuit that fits right. Along the way I picked up countless triathalon and gear tips.

Walked in past two people at the register /​computer who worked there. They were looking at there computer wondering what to order for the store. No acknowledgement that I was in there. Waited in the center of the store for a few minutes thinking they would stop long enough to ask if I needed help. Well that didn’t happen, as I walked out of the store in a huff– I was asked if I had a question, my answer was no not now and walked out. For one them to laugh as I walked out just shows how rude they really are.

I don’t understand the glowing reviews. I’ve been in here half a dozen times to look for specific products, and once, to pick up a race packet. Each time, there are one or two employees who baaaaarely acknowledge your presence. I was looking at shoe inserts once, while two employees sat there and talked to each other. I even played the «I’m a triathlete — I’ve done Ironmans» card in conversation, to see if they would peg me as a half-​serious athlete. But it didn’t help. :(
The selection is really small, and very expensive.
I usually check the front for race fliers; there are about 2. I specifically asked the employee last time about upcoming races; he said, «Yeah, there’s a couple», gesturing at the two fliers. Sigh.
The race packet pickup was an effing joke. The people were surly and horrid. I tried jokes, hung spoons from my nose, you name it — couldn’t even get eye contact out of them. I realize it’s not the store’s responsibility, necessarily, but I sure didn’t want to hang around and patronize the shop.
Also, I know I’m not in Kansas anymore, but the city I used to live in in CA had an AWESOME running/​tri store. Selection, service (owner was a major runner/​athlete and was HUGELY knowledgeable and personable), and resources (dozens of fliers, and they knew about/​raced every race) were top-​notch. This place completely misses the mark.

About a month ago. Owner watched me walk and brought out 5 possibilities for walking shoes. The first pair was perfect. Didn’t realize until then that one should get a size larger than you normally wear. Husband also got a pair with discount. Quality customer service. We’ll be back for our next pairs!

Stopped by here today to get a new pair of shoes. I wanted to get the correct pair for my feet. Robert helped me the second I walked in the door. He was very attentive and spent a lot of time with me to make sure I got the pair that worked best for me. Thanks Robert!

This is a great is a great place to get your running shoes! The staff is so helpful and provide great advise!
We were there to get long distance spikes and learn a lot about how the different brand vary and what would work best for his narrow foot.
Love the fact that they are living what they see and gave us information on different running events in the county as well as other valuable information. We will be back for this cross county shoes

Great small business!!! Besides personal attention, advice, and location. We became members and receive weekly newsletters letting us know when and where all the running activities are held.
I would highly recommend Tri Running if you need professional advise (even if you don’t…) They will fit you in the shoes that are perfect for you!

Talk about friendly! I was walking through old town and decided to finally stop by and check the place out. I admittedly told the salesperson that I was just looking around as I was trying to get myself restarted in running. Not only was the salesperson patiently helping me out, he gave me some friendly advice to help me get re-​started.
It is about time we have a business on the boulevard that is approachable, friendly, athletic and very knowledgeable. I am definitely going to patronize them and pass the word to all of my workout buddies.

Wow impressive! My son decided he was going to run cross country at school. So needed some running shoes and where do you start? Well we started at Tri Running and found a great pair of shoes, great service and an affordable price! Thanks guys! You were awesome!

This store is the best! I had such a great experience here. I needed a new pair of running shoes and I noticed this store while I was driving through old town camarillo one day. I stopped in and was helped from the moment I walked in the door. The guy had me try on a bunch of different shoes and wasn’t even annoyed when i didn’t like them. He knew so much abaout each shoe and explained everything to me. He even had me run on the street while he watched my feet and told me if the shoes were working for me. I wish I had his name but if you go into this store ask for the Marlin’s fan. He will take good care of you! This guy deserves a raise because he really ejoys his job! Keep up the good work!

Just visited Tri Running for the first time. The shop is small, but they pack a lot of great equipment, clothing, etc. into their store. Great equipment and great prices. I hope they have a long presence on the Boulevard.
