Most amazing tamales I have ever had in my life. We will definitely be back. They have a full menu I would like to try.

This is a Mexican bakery that also has typical Mexican food(tacos/burritos/tamales ect) I also heard they have menudo and pozole on the weekends. I had a 2 asada taco plate with rice and beans. The plate came with a side of their salsa– everything tasted fresh and good. I would come back to try a torta or burrito. If your close by give it a try!

I’ve been to this place a few times. They sell typical Mexican pastries, cakes, tamales and ginormous Mexican type sandwiches called tortas which are kinda like gyros, but on steroids! They have an awesome looking coffee machine and sell Mexican hot drinks too. The owner is friendly and chatty. Know a lot about sports and usually has the house TV on a sports related channel. Family friendly spot.

I bought a couple of tamales here and some baked goods. The tamales were VERY good. I purchased cheese tamales, but when I got home I found the cheese also had jalapenos in them. I try not to eat spicy foods because they trigger migraines. Had it been posted that they had jalapenos in them, I wouldn’t have bought them. I didn’t want to waste them so I ate them very slowly throughout the evening. They were very good and fresh. However, the baked goods I purchased were not good at all. I purchased a muffin from the self-serve case and a slice of cake from the fridge. Both were very stale or dry. The muffin was stiff and crumbled when I tried to break a piece off. I tried to eat it, but it has to be the driest pastry I’ve ever tasted and after one bite I just discarded it. Later in the night I tried the slice of cake. The chocolate cake with custard, «whipped cream» and a red jelly-like substance looked good, but again, the cake was incredibly dried out and stale. The«whipped topping,»(non-dairy, synthetic whipped substance) or custard did nothing to soften the cake. After a couple of bites I threw it out as well. The baked goods were very disappointing but the tamales were very good. I would return for the tamales, but for the baked goods, I’d have to give it a pass.

Got the tres leche cake with strawberries and it was ok. The cake was soggier than tres leche cakes that I like and the strawberry was less than fresh. The owners were very nice though.

I come here for the tamales and homemade salsa! So good! And homemade. And the service is always great! And prices, perfect! I have yet to try their actual baked goods but it’s hard to steer away from the yummy tamales!

Great Pan Dulce. HUGE Tortas! But the Tamales… ehh. The Pork/Chicken variety could use more filling/sauce. The cheese variety are disappointing. They are almost always MORE masa than cheese. Like a small strip of cheese way at the end of the tamale and a half of a green chile. The masa is very flavorful though and they are NEVER dry.

I used them for the first time ever over the Christmas Holiday. I placed an order for two dozen tamales on 12/18, paid for them and scheduled to pick them up on 12⁄23 on my way home from work. I ordered a dozen pork and a dozen chicken. I dint check my order as thoroughly as I should have on 12⁄23 when I picked them up. I was disappointed to find out at my dinner party on 12⁄24 that I was given 12 dozen cheese instead of the chicken I ordered. Bummer for me and my guests. The tamales were good but the error in the order is inexcusable; especially since I verified what I ordered when I paid for it on 12⁄18.

We recently had a birthday and needless to say I forgot to order a cake from a «high-end» bakery, who could not meet my last-minute custom-order expectations, so I called this bakery at the last minute! In desperation I made my request for my best friend’s cake: white cake with fresh bananas and fresh strawberries and fresh whipped cream frosting! They very kindly and swiftly told me not to worry, they could fulfill my order without a problem. Furthermore, the price was substantially less at $ 23.00 for a 10-inch cake which was an unheard of price! The quality, and taste of the cake, the fruit, the decorations, all looked beautiful. Plus, they did not charge me for writing«happy birthday» on the cake!(The other high-end bakery charged $ 4.00 extra for the greeting on the cake)! All to say, you MUST try this bakery! it is EXCELLENT! Don’t be afraid of the outward appearance; there is a gem of a baker inside, he has great confectionery skills. The Mexican bread is not bad either!

I love coming here :) sometimes I’m a little shy because I’ll oftentimes bump into a few Spanish only speaking employees(my looks are deceiving. I look Latina but I’m mixed Filipino & White. Haha) who will try to speak to me in Spanish and I just have to shrug nervously and say I’m sorry. Everyone here though is SONICE. I was lucky to had been working full time a few doors down to be able to come here. Tamales are $ 1.50 for one. They have Pork & Cheese/Chile. Most of the Pan Dulces are $.75 Menudo on the weekends! VERY good! They also do pretty cakes as well. Definitely worth a peek in.

I love this little shop! They have the most beautiful baked goods — my kids LOVE the cupcakes — and the most delicious, authentic Mexican food. It has a true neighborhood feel and is close to all the Camarillo shops, post office and just across the freeway from Old Town. My family loves to eat here, whether we stop in for a little pastry with the kids, or sit down for a little lunch, it’s the best!

Instead of a thumbs down, this place gets a middle finger. I decided to order a cake from here because my coworkers had ordered an impressive cake here for my office baby shower a year ago. I don’t know if the owners have changed or what, but I was appalled at my personal experience with this place. I went in with my 1 year old daughter and the man/baker/owner(I don’t know what, but he seemed to be the manager) took my order. I was impressed by their selection and chose a design for my daughter’s baptism. He was very nice and made conversation about my daughter and his 2 sons. He asked for specifics about the cake and I said be creative. I didn’t know«be creative» would mean don’t make my cake. My first question to him before I placed the order was«How soon do I need to place an order?» and he replied«2 days.» I gave him 5 days. My husband went to pick up the cake and this woman barely spoke English but said«No cake. Pie? No cake.» My husband tried explaining but couldn’t. I called. She barely understood me, so I spoke Spanish. She got confused and said, «Bueno?» then hung up. I called back and 2x there was no answer. Then a man picked up who explained there was no cake. I said I had the receipt and he said to come in to pick out a cake. Mind you I had to step out of mass to sort this out. So I tell my husband to go back there and pick out the cake. At first they have no idea what he’s talking about and a 3rd person steps in and«finds the cake.» When I saw the cake at the reception, I was mortified. It was not the cake I ordered. This cake even had fruit filling against my request. Never go here for a cake.

I constantly pass by this place when I’m shopping at Smart and Final, today I finally decided to go in, I was craving some carbs… but I didn’t end up with any Mexican breads even though it all looked yummie. Instead I had Jello, and Special Flan… and TACOS, to my surprise I saw someone eating tacos… so I had to order them… DELISH, so much meat, onions & cilantro, yummie salsa, and the tortillas were delish too. The Jello was good and so was the flan… it was so much food, I had to take the rest of my sweets home and 1 taco. Oh, I also purchased 2 loafs of Mexican bread with jalapenos and cheese… I haven’t had it yet… maybe tomorrow morning :)
