Courtyard Camarillo

*eh, cheap enough* for City Slicker Ville, right off the freeway and close to fine dining like Bistro 13, a McDonalds, and a 24 hour gas station and open late liquor store.
The Cons:
Don’t go here if you have a pickup truck, or park in outer lot.
No continental breakfast.
The pros;
Wifi is blazing fast.
If you’re a coffee snob, this is your hotel. Starbucks inside. Didn’t go there. after 8 hours on the road, I was much more interested in a $ 5 6 pack than a $ 5 cup of Joe.
The rooms have wonderful temp control, and 2^nd floor rooms have a balcony.
King bed was amazingly comfy, just amazing. Rooms are huge and also have a large sofa and work desk.
Rooms have Paul Mitchell toiletries and shower temp/​heads are wonderful, though my sink and shower did have a clog. Oh well.
Fridge in room to keep excess beer, or your health foods cold.

Stayed this past Monday on business and they gave me a key and when I got to the room it was not just not cleaned, it was filthy. Walked back to the front desk and the clerk offered me another room, got to the door, key did not work. Walked back for room 3 and the clerk had a staff member walk back with me with a new key and it worked. Staff did not satisfy me with their offer of nothing. Being a Marriott rewards gold member should mean something.
I stay in the area often and will pass on this hotel.
I also thought the price was very high. I paid 200 for this room and on previous occasions I paid 149.
No free breakfast at this hotel… that is not good for the price of the room.
On the room issue, I asked for a non-​highway 101 facing room and that is exactly the way my room faced, right onto the highway, which is a busy highway all day and night, so the noise was loud.
This was the worst Marriott courtyard I have stayed at.

Booked a room super last minute the night before my check in. I was planning on a late check in for my stay but ended up receiving an email at around 6:30PM the night of my reservation from the Front Desk Supervisor, Brandon Boutell that said: «Unfortunately we are sold out and we cannot accomodate you. I did look around and found a room at the Ventura Beach Marriott.»
It bothered me that they didn’t try and call me to relay vital information regarding my stay. They said that I didn’t list my phone number when I made the reservation — but this can’t be true because when I made my reservation through their site, a phone number was a mandatory field and it couldn’t have been left blank.
Anyway, I called the hotel and was immediately assisted by a front desk agent named Frankie. She told me that I booked the last room in the hotel and that said room had an issue with the AC unit and plumbing (this is my standard luck when traveling).
Frankie was professional and friendly and ensured me that I’d be taken care of. She took immediate action and said that even though they’d have to move me to a different hotel altogether, the Courtyard Camarillo would compensate my stay as a result of the inconvenience.
We ended up being transferred to the Ventura Beach Marriott — a slight upgrade from our first hotel. When we arrived at the new hotel, the front desk agent informed us that we’d be staying in a suite since all their standard rooms were booked. I was ecstatic!
I went from being kicked out of my room, to being relocated to a nicer hotel, to being upgraded to a complementary suite. This night could’ve easily turned for the worse if it weren’t for Frankie taking care of us as she promised.
(This 5 star rating is based on my experience with Frankie since we didn’t get a chance to stay at this actual hotel.)

A quick night stay with the family. Our room was on the second floor facing the pool. Our room and bathroom was clean, not a large room but spacious for 2 adults and 2 kids. Nothing fancy in regards to amenities, but certainly doable for the price we paid for the night.
Very nice lobby, which I think they recently updated. Check in staff was friendly and informative. No regrets staying here.

Convenient location! Price of the room was very expensive for what we got. The staff was not friendly at checkin. The carpet in our room was stained but the bed was very comfortable. No complimentary breakfast or coffee.

This is a very nice clean hotel. The staff is professional, the rooms are nice and clean. The beds are comfortable and the lobby is modern and very nice. There is a small gym, pool and hot tub. As other reviewers mentioned there isn’t an included breakfast so you need to go to the NY Deli across the lot. Drinks are also expensive so again it is best to hit the liquor store across the lot. There are a ton of places to eat within walking distance. There is also a nice movie theater across the street.

Great beds local restaurants and customer service is always willing to help, I would definitely recommend for out of towners

Stayed here on business. The check-​in lady was very nice. It’s in an ideal location next to the highway, with plenty of food options nearby. The room was clean and well-​maintained. They replaced the mattresses in the rooms while I was there. The only caveat is that you do here some highway noise — it wasn’t a problem for me, though. Overall, it is a decent hotel.

I like this Courtyard, my office puts me up here when I fly in. This week I stayed for a couple of nights. I didn’t have any real problems. Even though I can expense beer/​cocktails when I travel, drinks are expensive at their little bar. A domestic beer is something like $ 5.50/ea and a stinking (yet small) rita is like $ 8.50!
Anyway, I learned on my first visit here to hit Cheers (
). It’s a quick two minute walk across the lot. I got a 12pk of Miller Lite for $ 9.99! Much better than wasting money at the hotel bar, plus no tipping.
Safire American Bistro, in the next lot, has pretty good food if you get hungry.
My recent visit though had some small problems. When I checked in I requested one room key. It worked maybe twice before I had to ask the front desk to fix it. Kinda annoying to keep walking back and forth, considering I was on the second floor. The next night it happened two more times! The nice guy behind the counter confirmed the key kept «voiding» out. I told him I wasn’t keeping the key next to another card, and it was away from my phone. He said electric key fobs can cause failure as well. I wasn’t traveling with my car keys, so no idea what caused it.
Also, the face soap in the room destroyed my skin. :(As soon as I started washing my face it began to burn, and I don’t have sensitive skin. It was beet red, felt like real bad sunburn for the following couple of days. The body soap was ok though.
I’ve been luck and my rooms have always been clean.
OH, and no free coffee in the lobby. No free muffins, NO NADA!
My coworker ordered a breakfast platter (eggs, sauage, toast, etc) and it came to $ 18! I told him I go here… Old New York Deli & Bakery Co, it’s near Cheers. The bagels here are yummy!

ok, the hotel is only two floors high. We were given two keys at checkin. I went to park the car and come in the back door and my key didnt work. Just then my daughter called my cell to say she was upstairs with our luggage on a cart and she couldnt get in our room either. I walked around front and back to registration. The desk clerk said oh we have had key trouble today. The pool area is small and no hot spa. There is an outdoor patio area with large comfy sofas. We wanted a spa. The room with two queens is large. There is a bar area with a fridge. No microwave. The lobby area is new bistro style. Our room had old stained gold carpet. The bathroom had some damage, cracked floor. The bath counter of granite is very worn and stained looking. Needs refinishing. Room has plenty of lighting and square footage is very good even with two queens. Spacious. There is a mc donalds in the center where hotel is located. Plenty of hotel parking. LG flat screen tv in room. If u get a craving for frozen yougurt, drive over to swirl, it was very good and is in the center of a new housing area. Very nice. pillows are horrible and worn out. lumpy.

I’ve stayed at this location on several occasions. The rooms are quite nice with comfortable linens and mattress. Reasonably priced and a small café in the lobby that serves Starbucks coffee.
Carey at the front desk has gone above and beyond to make my stay pleasant on more than one occasion — Thank you Carey!!!

I stayed here recently for a wedding and the location and price were very reasonable since we were included in a group rate. There is no continental breakfast included with the stay.
If I get married at Maravilla Gardens, I will definitely use this place. It was only 4 miles away from the wedding site. There are many nearby eateries
it as well

Clean — looks like it has been remodeled in the last few years.
Comfortable bed, pillows not the best.
Room large enough and the bathroom doesn’t face the bed, it is around the corner.
Quiet in the rooms facing the courtyard.

Nice hotel. Clean rooms. Located next to all of the «sights» of Camarillo…
But… there’s no wireless internet… which means you have to plug in your laptop.
Have an iPad? Yeah, your iPad just got iSad.
Seriously, all you need is a router. Seriously.

Not the best Courtyard we’ve ever stayed at, but not the worst either. The lobby and exterior areas are very nice but the rooms and interior corridors look a little worn. The first room we were given was clean, but I also noticed some trash in the trashcan next to the desk, which made me wonder if the room really hadn’t been cleaned or if it hadn’t been used in a while. The bathroom was clean enough, the towels were nice and the bed was comfy, but after we got back from dinner, we tried to turn on the AC and found out it didn’t work. It was 9:30 at night by that time and there was no engineer on duty so we ended up getting dressed, re-​packing and moving to a room a few doors down. It was a slight inconvenience but much better than trying to sleep in a stuffy room.
Overall, not a bad hotel to stay in while we were in Camarillo working, but I would probably not choose it for a pleasure trip.

Stayed in one of the first-​floor suites the week of my wedding with a majority of our guests. Everything was pretty average, nice big comfy bed, slightly softer than average towels, rooms were clean and plenty of storage space. I was a little confused when they tried to sell us on renting out the newly remodeled lobby for an after-​party after our wedding for an exorbitant rate — and then when we turned it down, ended up allowing us to stay in the lobby anyway for free… with our own alcohol. Another issue was that while we reserved 10 rooms to be blocked off in the same area, they scattered our guests around the hotel, throughout the first and second floor. And I’m still confused about the lack of wi-​fi in the rooms, while they offered free internet in the lobby.
Either way, the hotel is the best bang for your buck in the area, which isn’t saying too much as most places around here will run you anywhere from $ 150 to $ 220 a night if you’re looking for something that’s 3+ stars. The staff were fairly accommodating when it came to getting clean towels, as well.
I would also recommend eating at any of the great restaurants right across the parking lot, as they’re close, cover a lot of different options, and cheaper than ordering from the lobby bar (though don’t get me wrong, as a quick fix, the food isn’t half bad, just very… sterile.)

My family of 4 stayed here this past weekend and it was perfect for us! The room was very large and they came through on our requests for 2 beds and a crib. The crib was in our room and set-​up for us when we arrived. I did not even have to ask at the front desk. They had pulled it from our reservation and just did it.
The lobby is very modern looking, but also very cozy. They have a gas fireplace and TV’s and remotes everywhere, so you can get comfortable and have a nice place to hangout. This is nice because the baby naps and goes to bed early, and the older kid and dad were able to hang in the lobby area during those times.
The restaurant was pretty good. Not a ton of choices, but it all tasted great. They also had coffee in the lobby and it was very good. The location was perfect for us because we were visitng family in Leisure Village. We were close by, and had tons of ammenities nearby.
It was chilly (February weather) but we went swimming in the heated pool anyway. We froze a little when we got out, but it was worth it. The kids had a blast. They had plenty of pool towels for us. The kids loved the gigantic flat-​screen TV and snuggled up in the morning to watch cartoons together.
We would definitely pick this hotel again.

Awesome hotel to stay! Most bang for your buck! It reminds me of one of those boutique hotels. The location is awesome food-​wise. The choices are: Japanese, deli, Mexican, BBQ and a lot more.
The décor is very hip. The lobby as you walk in is ultra modern. Bright colors and trendy couches that are so nice and comfy.
I noticed that everything is scaled small. Not grandiose and opulent. Just right.
Nice bed. Bathroom is adequate in size with a separate toilet. Great water pressure in the shower! My hair was happy happy! Nice flatscreen tv. Of course wifi is $ 10 extra.
Clean hotel overall. Nice heated outside pool. Staff was polite, helpful and warm.
Two stories of niceness! Will definitely be back if in the area!
