A fun & fantastic winery tour! Being from MN, it was a pure pleasure to wander around the sunny vineyard, sipping on wonderful wines, while learning about the winery from a fabulous guide. Brought home a little A.S. Kiken wine to sip while remembering my amazing visit.

Wow. Great time with Guillermo and amazing wines. Make sure you go to the redwood circle and try the Reserve Cab. Take it slow on the drive up to enjoy the woods and creeks.

Love this place! Love the wine, the setting and the friendly staff. We felt like part of the family. After enjoying their delicious wine, my favorite is their CabFranc, continue driving up Diamond Mountain Rd for a beautiful drive.(You eventually need to turn around as it will dead end).

Such a great place to go to. The tour was long, tasted great wines, and really learn a lot and basically one on one with one of the guys who runs the winery. Sure the big places are fun but this is a must do for someone who wants to see what most of the vineyards are like. You really get a great perspective about the industry too. The tour is free, but of course they offer your bottles and packages to buy at the end of the tour. While we did want to purchase wine from them we knew it would spoil pretty much with our travels but aren’t big enough drinkers for the packages. Thankfully online purchasing is possible. I would certainly recommend this for anyone who has a few days in Napa!

Nestled in the hills of Calistoga, up Diamond Mountain Road where the cell signal can’t reach, is Reverie Vineyard and Winery. This thirty acre vineyard is an appointment only must-see and Norman Kiken, Reverie’s owner and winemaker, has been making his elegant Bordeaux-style wines for 22 years. All his grapes are estate grown and picked early so he can keep the alcohol levels low and«showcase the intense and unique mountain flavors». I had the pleasure of attending the Reverie Harvest Release Party, met Norman and his family, toured his amazing property and tasted several incredible wines. I will share with you my top 3. Out tour started on the crush pad where we learned some Reverie history as we sipped the 2012 A.S. Kiken, names after Norman’s oldest son. This blend is made up of mainly Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo, but also includes Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Grenache. Our next stop on the self-guided tour was the wine cave tasting of Reverie’s Tempranillo. My second favorite wine of the day is a varietal that is predominantly grown in Spain’s Rioja region. This wine is lighter than a Cabernet and possesses elements of tobacco and spice. In the Redwood grove I met my favorite wine of the day, the 2012 Cabernet Franc. Norman describes his Cab Franc as a feminine wine and I must agree. This fruity and soft wine put Norman on the map. A slightly older vintage of Reverie’s Cabernet Franc was recently selected as one of the Top 100 Wines in the World and it was the only Cabernet Franc-based wine to make the list.

We had a great tour with Andrew. The tasting is an outdoor your of the property and it was excellent top to bottom. The caves are closed but it didn’t matter. They gardens are gorgeous and the tour was phenomenal. Definitely the best way to spend 90 minutes in Napa.

Andrew is a fun and a Kick-A2#@ guy — this is an inside joke if you have visited the winery. Lovely experience outside, the cave and the garden. The wines were excellent and the overall experience was truly integrated. From an entertainment and fun factor this is over the top… This was the first visit of the day and we did not know what to expect. Andrew’s rapid fire walkthrough made us feel at home(read — New York…). His walkthrough of the vines and the cave was super exciting and we all felt an integral part of the tour with questions and friendly banter through the entire time. We all got a bunch of great wine and the vertical ‘blind’ tasting was a highlight. We spent more time with Andrew than perhaps we should have seeing that it is a working winery, but the visit was so exciting and we did buy some superb wines. We hope he had some fun too… which I think he did… Excellent

Reverie is a 6 star winery. My wife and I had a fantastic time at Reverie. I disagree with the 1 star reviews. If you come to a winery like Reverie you should NOT come with the«drink» mentality, its not what they are for, they are about hospitality, share the values and passion for world class wines. If you come to the valley to «have a glass of wine» there are great BAR options by the glass downtown Napa. Please visitors, be aware that wineries like hospitality and wine sales, if you need a glass of wine go to a wine bar!!! We will come back to Reverie, recommend to our friends(wine buyers) and support the winery. Andrew is a fantastic host and winemaker… High end quality wine and hospitality!!!

I had the best experience at Reverie out of the dozen or so wineries I visited in Napa during my visit! Andrew and Guillermo were amazing! Andrew greeted us warmly from the get-go and told us lots of funny anecdotes about the winery(and life). He went out of his way to make our visit enjoyable, gave us tips to make the most of our wine drinking experience, took a bunch of pictures for us and made us feel part of the family. Andrew was very entertaining, quirky & friendly! Guillermo was very knowledgeable about wines & taught us quite a few things! He was also personable and funny! I liked that the tasting was a mini walking tour; we started outside by the vineyard then went into the cave then to a beautiful tree covered area and finished our tasting at a picnic table. They even offered my friend to come back and use the picnic area for guests she had the next weekend! All of their red wines were great! Moreover, their reserve Cabernet was SUPERB! It was definitely the best Cabernet I had in Napa during my visit(and I tried at least 15!) If you’re looking for great quality wines & a friendly, easy-going, personalized tasting at a winery w/a peaceful & beautiful outside area, this is the place to go!

Reverie winery is an awesome place and I was surprised to read some negative reviews below as they are not at all congruent with my experience. Sure, our guide encouraged us to buy some wine at the end, but I see that as part of his job. I’m not sure what people are expecting from their tour guides, but our guide Andy was knowledgeable and entertaining. His dad Norm, the owner and winemaker, stopped by our tour. He was super down to earth and showed off some bar tricks that my whole group got a kick out of. They showed us how to take a selfie in the redwood«fairy ring» which is now my desktop background. The tour they give is extensive and generous and their wine is relatively affordable when you take into consideration the prices of other wines in the area of equal or lesser caliber. If you’re looking for an amazing tour and are serious about tasting and purchasing some incredible wines I would highly encourage you to check out Reverie. This is not one of those wineries that is a business designed around tasting fees. If you’re looking to just pay a tasting fee it is more appropriate to go to some of the larger wineries in the valley that are intended for just that. I can’t recommend this place highly enough for those who are truly into wine or are learning to be. You will thoroughly enjoy your experience and although the wine speaks for itself, the setting of the winery, cave, and redwoods make for a magical place to enjoy some of the nicest wines grown in the valley.

After receiving both a condescending personal message from Norman at Reverie and the comment from Andrew I am absolutely disgusted with this place. Total lies! We did NOT go in there and say«just pour the wine». What are we? A bunch of classless and rude people? The bottom of the bucket, bashing techniques this place is using to defend themselves is sickening. The personal message I received was borderline harassment and even more condescending than the public response. We never agreed to buy wine, we wanted to pay a tasting fee but as we were sitting at the large table she told us they were waiving it, again we assumed this was because of the mix up with our reservation. Then we were literally followed to our cars telling us we hadn’t bought enough wine yet(4 bottles were willingly purchased before we knew we HAD to buy wine). Seems they are having an issue with getting several poor reviews lately, I’m sure the public can see who the problem is. This place is full of liars. I close my review with«liars, liars, pants on fire!» Update(again): I got 7 emails from Unilocal today telling me that Andrew updated his comments 7 times. Give it up, what browsing through the comments proved to me is that I don’t even think they have the right group, lol. Get over it. To update on Andrew’s updated comment: Sara was pouring herself more than one pour of each wine. Their are several reviews on here that point out the rudeness of rhe employees, I am not the only person who feels the staff is incredibly rude, the comments from Andrew kind of prove that. I actually had positive things to say in my review, but every response from the winery has been negative and rude. It’s unbelievable a business would act this way. I don’t recall seeing a limo driver in the parking lot when we left, but no one in our group was rude. We were more shocked that we were followed to our cars after being told our tasting fee would be waived. For a business who doesn’t care about Unilocal business or Unilocal reviews as Andrew states below, they spend a lot of time responding and defending themselves. Andrew, of course you can’t take a lie detector test about our visit, you weren’t on the tour. That’s called hearsay. Update(again): I got 7 emails from Unilocal today telling me that Andrew updated his comments 7 times between the hours of 12:30am &11am. Give it up already and focus on other, more important things in life. I just picked up hitch hikers in Shasta and took them as far as Eugene, Oregon. I encourage you to also partake in acts of random charity and kindness, it will certainly settle your soul.

A very cool atmosphere and location for the winery. The tour was fun. That said, wasn’t so impressed by the tour guide and the pressure to buy wine at the end. I would have been happy to pay for just the wine tasting and call it good, but you pretty much had to buy a bottle or two unless you wanted to feel like a cheapskate, and it really left a bad taste in our mouths, because we didn’t really want to buy any wine. Edit: I read in a review below that he did this previously to another reviewer… But I, too, got a very unprofessional and unnecessary personal message from Andrew about my review. Chill out and learn to take some criticism! Really just solidified in my mind that I won’t be back to this place or recommend it to anyone.

Thank you Unilocalers for sharing this gem! We were greeted outside, toured the cave and walked around the property while sipping wine. It was a beautiful sunny and warm day which was an added bonus. Reverie has beautiful wines — all tasted great. The price point for the wine is pretty decent as all their fruit is sourced from their vineyards. The tour was intimate and relaxed. Our host, Sara was a doll — friendly and knowledgable. This winery is off the beaten path and totally worth the trip if you come to the area.

Fantastic tour!!! Our limo driver set up this tour for us. All the wines I tasted I enjoyed. She provided a fantastic overview of each for us and tastings of each at different locations on their grounds. Driver set up a picnic for us. This was so enjoyable and recommend this winery!

What a great find! This place was recommended by Eric Tracy who was our tour guide/driver earlier this year. We called ahead and we were told that since there was a private event happening, we would not get the personal service that they normally provide. We were totally fine to just go there to taste and be on our own. We were greeted by someone(I don’t think she ever gave us her name) who was from Las Vegas. She didn’t have any info on the wine we drank, so it was a little bit of a rocky start to the tour. We were handed off quite a few times and ended up sitting in the outside area where we sat at a picnic table. It was a gorgeous day. Guillermo helped us with ordering some wines and we were happy just sitting there and enjoying our wine. We just opened a bottle of their Cab Franc last night and I wish we had gotten more! We will definitely be back to experience the real tour with a more personal touch when they don’t have an event going on.

Reverie has some great wines. Unfortunately, the experience was lacking. I heard that usually you have one tour guide that stays with you throughout the entire tour but due to the event that was being held our group was handed off a couple of different times. We started off with a guide who didn’t even work there. She was helping out from Las Vegas and seemed flustered. We also felt very rushed. Once she was relieved by an actual employee things got much better but that first impression was lasting. At the end of our tour we saw the owner greeting some other tables but he didn’t come over to ours. That left a bad lasting impression. However, Reverie still deserves 3 stars for its wines: they have a good mix of both lighter and bolder reds and the Cabernet Sauvignons are particularly good(bold, complex and balanced).

Reverie was our favorite vineyard(out of maybe 50 vineyards in two trips to Napa). It captures yet exceeds everything one might expect from Napa’s vineyards. All of the wines were truly delicious(we even joined the club, 12 bottles). We couldn’t get enough :) Even though caves are trendy, they have the cutest cave, where they also host private events(great lighting with a candlelabras). The wooded area was very spiritual and dreamy. There are relaxing landing areas to enjoy your lunch and finish drinking up the gorgeous views(our driver suggested grabbing sandwiches in advance). Make sure to make an appointment in advance and ask for Guillermo. Guillermo is an incredible tour guide with his fun facts about wine, history and overall knowledge of Napa. Everyone seemed very engaged and curious. My friend commented that Reverie hit every aspect of what she came to Napa for… Reverie has the best quality of wines, the amazing ambiance(nature & earth) and the best tour guide in town… We will be back!

Thanks to my dear co-worker, he was able to get us a tour here on the last Saturday tour of the season. I’m so glad. First: their greeter is cute. that dog came running towards us and started barking before we saw the beware of dog sign. The tour itself is fun, very informative. AS Kiken was awesome. Cave tour and the tasting under the redwoods are the highlight of the tour. Definitely recommended!
