lived here 18 yrs and have eaten here about 5 times and I still cant get there — bland bland bland –small portions and it is not authentic horrible worst chineese food — locals like it because this has been in the family calhoun for ever… so they have a faithful following — kinda like a church following thing — no real cooking going on here but they are as nice as pie with ice cream and a cherry on top

I cant understand the good reviews this place gets on customer service. The owners are rude as hell and treat customers like crap. Yes their food is great but their customer service is horrible!!! Who wants to pay to get treated like garbage??? Not me!

The food is good, but the Asian guy at the register is not friendly and sounds mean. I only give 3 stars for that reason.

I love it here. I live in Cobb but work in Calhoun this is a Gem. I don’t trust many Chinese restaurant. I was skeptical at first but saw the cleanliness inside and tasted how fresh and authentic the food was now I’m hooked. This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurant now. Top 10 in GA.

THE best Chinese cuisine I’ve ever had. The Hunan Shrimp is to die for. Egg rolls are on point. HotnSour soup was as flavorful as anything I could imagine. I love the Hunan shrimp so much I haven’t ventured beyond it, but one day I’ll give some of the other dishes a go.

Love it. Mongolian beef always hits the spot. Come before 11.45 or face the lunch rush headache.

Solid, tasty Chinese food. My wife and I found this place when battling a nasty cold and craving some sizzling rice soup. Since some of the local Calhoun restaurants could be classified as «bummin’», I was a little reluctant, but damn it if Peng’s didn’t deliver the goods. Good service, spot-on Mongolian Beef and soup to tame the savage sinuses. Granted, we were on a pretty good NyQuil buzz during dinner, but I’m sold on Peng’s. Excited to come back once my sense of smell returns.

This is a great restaurant for when you are really craving some great Chinese food for lunch. I assure you that the food here is «homemade» because I once witnessed an employee wrapping up the rangoons. They also have delicious«homemade» duck sauce which tastes amazing on anything. This place is local family owned, and the experience is always the same. I suggest that you try the dish called«Three Delicacies.» It consists of chicken, pork, and shrimp and is absolutely delicious. You will not be disappointed with this dish. The meat is very lean which is very important to me when it comes to Asian food. It does come with water chestnuts which I am not too crazy about, but I tend to just pick them out. Portion sizes for lunch are perfect. You will always receive a friendly experience at this restaurant and it is hard to compare. You’ll never find a restaurant quite like it. A must visit definitely. Also, don’t be afraid to call in your order for take-out.

I have tried plenty of Chinese Restaurants in my time, and Peng’s is one of the worse places I have ever been to. Their lunch special provides a VERYVERY small portion of food. Their food is below average and their prices are incredibly inflated. An order of plain fried rice during lunch time cost more than a chicken broccoli combo. How does that make sense? Take it from someone who is Chinese(me) you are better off avoiding this place for lunch. Try Thurstons, Dubs, or any chain restaurant if you want a good meal.

The best family ran establishment in Calhoun. The service is great and food was amazing every time.

The service was fast, but the food was disappointing. I had sweet and sour chicken. There was way too much batter on the tasteless chicken. The sauce was from a bottle. The server and the cashier were friendly.

When I moved away for college, I found it difficult to find a worthy replacement for Peng’s. The food is amazing, and the employees take time to get to know«the regulars.» I often get sweet and sour chicken or Mongolian beef, but my favorite is the sesame chicken, which has not been outranked.

For years now, I’ve been strangely enchanted with Peng’s. Every time I visit home, I MUST go there. I always order hot tea and the shrimp imperial with wonton soup, forgoing the egg roll for extra rice. Even when the server rarely swings by the table, I feel like I’m well taken care of. The building is a little run down, but it’s always busy for lunch and I’m completely comfortable being a part of that crowd waiting at the door.
