Brunswick Plantation & Golf Resort

My hubby and I just spent a week in a one bedroom unit at Brunswick Plantation-it’s a great place! I can’t say much about the course except that my hubby likes it a lot and played it 3 times while we were there. We were in unit 2906, which has fantastic views of the 10^th hole. We were right at the tee boxes and could see down the fairway but not much of the green. The unit was pristine and seemed freshly painted with new stylish and comfortable furniture. The wrap around patio gave spectacular views of the course! The kitchen was fully equipped and the in-​unit washer and dryer was great to have– I did all my laundry the night before we left so no dirty laundry facing me when I came home! My only slight complaint was that the sheets (2 full sized beds) were a bit scratchy-I’ll bring my own sheets next time.
Brunswick Plantation is a beautiful gated community with wonderful amenities, including an outdoor pool (closed for the season) with fitness center and indoor hot tub right across from our unit which we used everyday. There’s also an indoor pool a 1 min drive away which we used a couple of times. We were there in early November 2015 and the rates were outstanding and included free PM greens fees. Just pay for the cart.
You don’t have to be a golfer to enjoy this wonderful resort. Calabash is a neat little town with lots of seafood restaurants and little shops. There are tons of excellent golf courses around! It is a very short drive to all the hustle and bustle of the Myrtle Beach attractions, shopping and beaches. For a more relaxed beach ((my preference) the outstanding sugary beach at Sunset Beach is only a 10 min drive away. And the fantastic little southern city of Wilmington is about 45 minutes away. Historic Wilmington has many little shops, historic homes/​tours, trolleys, cobblestone streets and fine restaurants. The USS North Carolina Battleship is open for tours-​try to catch a glimpse of Charlie, the resident alligator. Take a tour of the Screen Gens studio, and tour the nearby filming locations. If you like Tex Mex/​Chipotle don’t miss Flaming Amy’s Burrito Barn– just be prepared for lots of tattoos and unusual décor. (See my review) There’s also Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach, Kure Beach and Fort Fisher -!with a beach as well as historic museum and NC Aquarium. It’s definitely worth spending time in Wilmington while you’re staying at Brunswick Plantation. For an added adventure, on your way back to Brunswick Plantation, take the ferry from Fort Fisher into Southport, a little sea town with lots of eclectic, artsy little shoppes.
You can probably tell I like the area! We used to live there and plan to move back when we retire In couple of years. But Brunswick Plantation will not disappoint!

Good price. But the walls are paper thin with tile floors. You can hear your neighbors breathing. Our neighbors sounded like they were inside our room. We could hear every single word. Unfortunately they were socializing till after 11pm with young children wide awake until we requested they settle down for the night. Made for an uncomfortable situation.

Love coming here for golf. Rates to stay and golf are great. Greens well kept, challenging in a good way, Snooky’s nearby. But, in 8 times here, have yet to be able to get a drink at the clubhouse. Weekday, weekend, in season, out of season, 4pm. Doesn’t matter, bar is closed. And they are rude about it. It is never acceptable to be rude to someone asking for a drink of you when you are standing behind a bar. If you are closed at 4 on a Saturday, don’t be shocked that someone asks for a drink. Frustrating that there is no 19^th hole here to round out experience with friends before going separate ways.

Love coming here in season and off. Great place to rent in the winter for a few months of relaxing staycation.
I don’t golf but those of you who do would truly enjoy being right on such an amazing course!

My cousin is getting married here! The grounds are so beautiful! VERY reasonable price for the room I got. It’s like an apartment for the price of a hotel room! Impressed!

I enjoyed my 4 day stay but the sleeping arrangments could be better. Beds a little comfortable. Found a cheap price online. Something like $ 70 per night. Free golf…$ 25 for cart, but free golf. Pools and golf. minutes away from the beach.
