Missy and Jason have represented us twice in sales and twice in our buys. We wouldn’t have anyone other than the Improta’s represent us; their level of expertise, professionalism, wealth of vendors, dedication and humor close deals as quickly and painlessly as possible.
Our most recent move turned out to be quite challenging. We had to sell our condo quickly, and the Improta’s had us under contract in two weeks, at a price that exceeded our expectations. Our new home required seven inspections, and we couldn’t have been happier with the thoroughness and quality of their vendors. We used their recommended mortgage broker and were able to lock an amazing rate with a smooth documentation process. We’ve even recommended these vendors to friends whose real estate agents had no contacts.
The Improta’s are extremely detail oriented and are completely on top of deadlines. They are up to date on the ramifications of laws and regulations which totally saved our deal.
When people do their jobs well, it often goes unrecognized because they make it look so effortless. It’s when the bumps occur (and they will) that you realize how exceptional the Improta’s are.

I recently purchased my first home and had the pleasure of working with Missy and Jason (referred from a friend). Being a first-​time buyer, I had a lot of questions and Missy was wonderful in breaking down the process for me, letting me know what to look for (and what to plan ahead for!) and connecting me with great resources (inspector, contractor, etc.). She was always available and on it when it came to coordinating everything during escrow. I had some initial issues with financing and she was even able to refer me to a great broker that worked with me (even though I didn’t have 20% down). Missy and Jason helped me sell my condo in Westwood Hills and I couldn’t be happier with the result as well as speed of execution! Both the unit and location were not necessarily the easiest to sell, but they got me an all-​cash buyer at above-​market pricing within one week! Part of the reason it sold so well and quickly was because they identified a bunch of clean-​up/​painting/​staging issues at the outset and had their handyman come in to totally freshen up the place for relatively cheap. They are responsive, dedicated, know their submarkets and target buyer profiles and, at the end of the day, get you great results. Highly recommend them!

Jason and Melissa helped us purchase our first home, a condo. They guided us through the entire process, even recommending a portfolio of lenders and suggesting which one might work best for our situation. Needless to say, they were right on the money. Weekend after weekend, they showed us dozens of properties that matched our criteria, and even when we would get outbid (as it happened several times), right away they were ready to move on and help us find another option. Once we had an offer accepted, they helped us and guided us through a process that can be extremely stressful for first-​time home buyers. Even in moments when it looked like the deal might fall apart, they put our interests above anything else. And even after closing escrow, they’ve been instrumental in giving us pointers and recommending specialists for anything we need. We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to Jason and Missy for doing an exceptional job selling our house in The Oaks of Calabasas. The entire process was organized, and efficient. From the very beginning of the listing they educated us about the market and our home’s value and communicated with us throughout the entire selling process. We had a lot of questions throughout and they were always available to us. Their preparation of our home and their marketing was like nothing we have seen before. The staging and the photography and the video were gorgeous and they marketed the house extensively in magazines, mailers, websites and countless social media platforms with targeted advertising.

My husband and I recently relocated from OC to Calabasas with our infant son and we didn’t know up from down. Melissa listened very carefully to the things that were important to us in a new home and found the the perfect house for us. She spent time showing us around the city, pointing out local favorites, telling us about community happenings and making us feel welcome and comfortable in our new town. She printed out school rankings for every home we went to — elementary through high school — and shared tips for nearby activities. She also gave us a candid local’s POV which really helped us better envision what day to day living would be like at each potential house. Her help was invaluable considering we didn’t know the area at all.
When it came to the business of buying our home, she was completely organized, assertive, detail oriented, timeline focused, professional, and honestly, just fun to interact with.
Working with the Improtas has an added bonus because they work as a team and the 2 times Missy wasn’t instantly available to us (the bank changed our closing date which caused some schedule juggling), Jason was able to meet with us and take care of everything we needed.
I hope we can work with them again next time we move so the process goes as well.

Missy and Jason helped us purchase our very first home this past July. Being a first time buyer in a seller’s market (and not having 20% down) makes a stressful process 10 times more difficult! But, I have to say that Missy and Jason were hands down the best agents… EVER! They were patient, super knowledgable, and the ultimate negotiators! I was referred to Missy and Jason Improta back in ’08 when I was ready for my first real estate purchase. For what could be a very trying experience, they made it very comforting and smooth. The few glitches along the way were met with the knowledge and also the tenacity to get things moving. My condo purchase was a success. At the same time, Missy also completed a difficult short sale for a friend of mine.
Just this past month, Missy and Jason again came through for me. This time on the selling end. Missy guided me through how to stage the place and then put her finishing touches on it prior to putting on market. I was blown away when I saw the ad with pics, I knew it was clean and sharp, but wow! They have a very good crop of contractors, photographers, and assistants. We had multiple offers and ended up with a great contract. Oh, I should mention that Missy and Jason took care of this while I was out of the country, always assuring me that they had my back.

Missy and Jason recently helped us to purchase a high value home in Calabasas and we could not be more satisfied with the service we received. Having been a part of multiple past real estate transactions, we have had to deal with a wide range of realtors in the past — hands down they have been the best thus far. Reliable, patient, always available, extremely personable, and most of all very effective in representing our interest in the sale and getting us what we wanted in the property. They furthermore went above and beyond to help us get people in to do estimates (we live over an hour away) and handle all the inspections, etc. We were out of the country during the tail end of the escrow process and Missy handled all of the complicated elements that this presented, more so than the escrow company did. Finally, once we were in the house we relied on them for every possible recommendation for home services including all the sourcing for the kitchen remodel that was planned — all fairly priced and spot on. What a relief to not have to sift through hundreds of places and providers in the area.

Missy and Jason Improta are the highest integrity, hardest working, and most client centric real estate team you can find. They represented me on the sales and purchase side in Santa Monica and Newport Beach.
From the beginning of the sales process, Missy reassured me that she would take care of everything. I am a single mom with a demanding job, and frankly did not have the time to even clean my home, much less stage it. Missy made my place beautiful and I received 8 offers over asking within 3 days. I sold for $ 50k over asking, with Missy taking care of all the details of inspection, repairs, and contracts. She made it easy!
On the buy side, Missy worked with me as I looked in several communities in LA and Orange County. She never pressured me to just buy what was new on the market. We evaluated each property and she did all the homework. She actually told me not to buy a property when I thought I loved it. She knew I would have buyers remorse, and she was right.
Missy found my dream home, even though it was priced $ 100k over my budget. She promised she would get the deal done. She relentlessly negotiated with the sellers agent, and positioned me as a star buyer. They reduced their price by $ 100k to meet my budget!
Again, Missy took the reigns during the purchase process and coordinated all inspections, repairs, and paperwork. She also negotiated the seller pay for thousands of dollars in repairs and termite tenting after the seller originally told us to pound sand. I didn’t have to fork over a dime for repairs.

Missy and Jason helped us buy a house in the fall of 2013. Unlike other realtors we have worked with in the past, they got it when we explained what we were looking for, so we did not have to waste time at showings that did not match our style or our parameters.
Another rare and wonderful quality is that Jason and Missy were always very honest with us. They did not BS us at all, and always gave their honest assessments. I think that also helped with negotiations– the sellers knew to take them at their word.
They were also very knowledgeable when it came time for inspections, including who to use, what types of inspections we should have for this particular property, and what to ask for in the repair/​credit process.
All in all, the Improtas took what can be a miserable and confusing process, and made it as simple and painless as possible. I would use them again in a heartbeat, and have been referring friends to them as well.

I have known Melissa and Jason Improta for over seven years and they are wonderful realtors. They are knowledgeable, friendly, accountable and work with integrity. I had them help me purchase a home three years ago and I couldn’t have been more pleased with their professionalism. Seven years ago I met them when I was looking for my first home. We viewed many homes before deciding on one and we presented an offer (which was accepted). I ended up not purchasing that property due to my current employer downsizing and I was laid off. I held on to their information knowing that the day would come when I would begin searching again. I started looking again in 2009. After completing my profile with them, I began receiving daily emails for propterties that fell into the parameters I outlined. We must have viewed a hundred homes. I had a terrific experience working with Missy and Jason Improta to purchase a home in Calabasas. They are incredibly responsive, tech savvy and go out of their way to do as much as they can to mininimize the hassle for their clients. Missy did an excellent job building rapport with the Seller which got my offer in the door and accepted. She is highly personable and has good instincts about how to approach negotiations.
Throughout the process, I felt both Missy and Jason’s top priority was getting a good deal for me and meeting my expectations vs. just trying to get the deal done. For example, they advised me to hold off on signing one of the contingency waivers because they wanted to confirm some information with escrow.
Both Missy and Jason understand how to work efficiency with busy clients who work full time and are trying to squeeze in a real estate transaction on the side. They are highly resoonsie on text, email, phone and use DocuSign to avoid their clients having to hunt down fac machines. They even arranged for moving boxes to be delivered to my new house and got me a thoughtful gift which was tailored to my specific needs.

Missy and Jason Improta are truly are rare find. My fiancée Kate and I decided to started looking for a condo with Missy in the beginning of 2008. After seeing a bunch of places, we realized that we weren’t ready to commit. Even though we had been working with Missy for a while (and taking up a lot of her time!) she had no problem putting our search on hold. She kept in touch and continued to keep us informed of new places that hit the market for the next few months.
