Undercooked, overcooked, lousy service and overpriced… pretty sure they are only in business because of the lack of competition in this crazy small town.

This place never fails to either undercook, overcook, or severely screw up your order. I tolerated all of the above for years, since they were so close by and there really isn’t anywhere to eat in this ridiculously underserved town. The finale came the day I ordered a chicken parmigian hero. To my horror, I almost bit into an eggplant parmigian they gave me by mistake — and I’m severely allergic to eggplant. When I ran back there in tears to let them know how close they’d come to killing me, and demanded my money back, they gave me an argument instead of an apology, scoffing that they can’t sell the sandwich now to anyone else because I opened the wrapper! Disgusting AND insensitive! I should have contacted the Health Department and the Chamber of Commerce to file complaints, but I was just so glad to be alive at that point that I just fled and vowed never to return again.

So I come to Cairo where I used to live, to stay with a friend and I want pizza. well he said this place has good pizza.(Hes not Italian, although he really should have to be) I wanted a Sicilian pizza with onions and peppers and sausage… this place was HORRIBLE! The most pervasive thing about this pizza after taking a bite, was the onions and the peppers were raw! like thrown on as an after thought. THe crust was not fresh, as it was rather hard chewing, unlike fresh melt in your mouth bread dough. The sausage was link and sliced like pepperoni(not bulk, ground), which made it difficult for each slice to have even ONE! some had three though. hardly any red sauce as I had to open a jar of spaghetti sauce to dip into because it was so dry!!! who is teaching this place to make their pizzas??? THIS will kill your business! what a disappointment! This makes Cairo a wide open market for a good pizza maker.

I’ve eaten pizza from Village Inn for years and when I think of how pizza ought to taste, I think of this place. The pizza is awesome! Not too thin, not too thick– chock full of flavor. Good prices, great sized pies. In my book, this place is the king of pizzas. I always look forward to returning to my hometown so I can get it here. I’m going to have to stop reviewing now because I’m getting really hungry just thinking about it.

As someone born and raised in Cairo, I go out of town for pizza. It’s remarkably inconsistent, it ENTIRELY depends on who is making the pies that day, and almost always has stoners for employees. Nothing against stoners, just sayin… They make some decent buffalo chips if you’re in the mood though.

My second review… this for the eggplant parm sandwich which i had yesterday. Huge, the eggplant itself was good, but could you toast the bread first? thought that was standard for any pizza shop restaurant. I also thought the pizza quality was slipping.
