A great book store with great coffee. Relaxing place to read or surf the web

I’ve been here more than a few times over the years when I come up north to visit. First off, by no means can you compare it to a Barnes and Noble or like the unfortunately defunct Borders Books and Music. It is what it is– a reasonably nice little small town bookshop with a café. They have a nice selection of local authors/book titles, lots of items specifically catering to up north. The displays are nice and prices are not too bad. The staff are not the most helpful or friendly I’ve found, but you can say that about a whole lot of places, not just bookstores.

It’s a good book store for Cadillac to have even if they do not carry much. The people who work here are kind of rude to younger customers I’ve noticed… and when I say younger I mean young adults and below.

Though it doesn’t have the amazing selection of something like a «Barnes & Noble,» it does usually have what somebody is looking for for the most part. If not, anytime I couldn’t find a book, they staff was more than willing to help me look for it, and if they couldn’t find it, they were just as happy to order it off of the internet for me to have it within a week. While this may not be the most convenient thing for most people, it’s nice to know that the option is available for local readers who may not always be able to go some place that is more likely to have what they’re looking for. Also, if you’re into that kind of thing, they have what seems to be a fairly respectable coffee shop/pastry thingie. I’m not going to lie, I’m not big on coffee, so I can’t really tell you how great it is, but I have gone in there for hot chocolate once in the middle of winter after driving around looking at Christmas lights, and it was fantastic. I had a nice conversation with the lady who owned the store, and the hot chocolate was freaking amazing.
