Happened on Lil Smokies because all the other places in town were closed on Sunday morning, and could not have been happier. I wish there there were more diners like this throughout NC, especially in Charlotte. Good service, friendly staff… Had the Messins for breakfast — highly recommended.

The reason it got the second star is because the food is pretty good. I have eaten here a few times. Service is always slow. Normally I woulda given three stars. Now i want to give it none. It got one because you have to to review. The second, again, because the food isn’t bad… when it comes out all at once… NEVEREVER order to go. I had to learn this the hard way. Placed an order on a Saturday afternoon @ 5:15 pm. Went for a ride. Came back 20 minutes later. Two boxes under the warmer. 10 minutes later, a third, smaller box appears. We ask. «They are bagging it up now» we are told. We wait. 10 more minutes go by. The two big and one small box are bagged and sat on an OPENICECREAMCOOLER… just as two more small boxes appear in the window. We ask again. «They are bagging it up now» they tell us. I ask if that’s my food on the cooler, they asked the name and it was mine. I said please move it. I didn’t want it refridgerated. Boxes keep appearing under the warmer periodically. Another 15 minutes go by and another box appeared in the window and they bagged it up and declared it ready. My son ordered a chzbrgr n fries. ITCOMESWITHFRIES! All that was there was a burger in a small box, no fries. My Ma’s WHOLEORDER was missing! By now it was almost 7pm(1 hr &45 min). Granted it was busy with a benefit and a live band. Kudos for helping their community. The problem was; everyone else’s orders were coming out complete and all at the same time. It wasn’t necessarily the wait, it was what was being done with our food. TOTALDISRESPECT. Not to mention being continually lied to about«bagging it up». I won’t ever return. Neither will any of my mother’s extensive local family.
