The young waitress was suck. No attitude & manner to the customer. I will never ever come back again.

Weighing the pros and cons of my visit, House of Wu landed on three stars. I came in for lunch. By itself, a victory as the Toyota’s newly-upgraded GPS got hopelessly lost. The location was probably more accessible before they reconfigured Hwy 13. Looked over the wimpy buffet and decided to order the duck that every other review recommended. A large table of Chinese(I’m guessing) gentlemen was sitting around a large plate of duck. The waitress seated me and brought a menu. Which didn’t have duck on it. When I asked for duck anyway, she smiled demurely and brought me another sheet of menu and explained in broken English about the sizes. I got the middle option: A quarter duck with rice. The duck was very good and the bowl of rice was large. Service was indifferent but friendly. But I don’t feel it necessary to come back to explore the menu. If I do, I’ll use the iPhone’s mapping software.

Same tasty roast duck! Again I have qualms with the side of duck sauce. I ordered a whole duck to go and when I got in my car, I noticed it didn’t come with the usual packet of sauce. When I went back in to confront them, I couldn’t tell if they pretended to have forgotten or genuinely forgot to put it in my bag. All I am saying is check your takeout before driving away. It’s one heck of a sauce you don’t want to miss especially poured over the accompanying rice.

The Cantonese BBQ is absolutely one of the best in the entire country, other food can be a miss. The waitresses are friendly if they know you, so get your BBQ to go is the best option.

I was astounded at how RUDE these people can be to a customer… They treat customers with a sharp sassy smart mouth. When you ask a question they answer very RUDE. I don’t appreciate a business with lack of respect. Roast pork may be good but they need lessons on manners

The service is TERRIBLE ! I have never encountered a hostess/waitress that was that rude in my entire life. If you want to get treated badly and be yelled at for asking questions about their food then this is the right place for you. They do not care about their customers and they never have the food ready on time. I think the management should have a meeting on how to act in a restaurant. Actually they should have a meeting on how to act in LIFE. If they act like this to customers I can’t imagine how they act to other people in their life. Don’t get me wrong, the duck and pork are amazing. But after the service I received, I don’t plan on coming back anytime soon.

I feel like I should not waste my time here anymore because the service is just so bad. I truly believe that the Chinese owners and management of this restaurant needs to learn some consideration. The reason why I say this is because they speak rudely. They don’t go by the books and they don’t commit to their promises. I call and order prior to stopping in and never in my hundred visits have I had my food done and prepped prior to arriving. They also allow people to go in the back where the food is being prepped which I think is an FDA no no. They charge me if they have to chop my doc who does that how can anybody eat a duck whole?! They actually remodeled the place recently but it doesn’t make them any better in service. The owner and the workers would eat outside and use their fingers to remove any food stuck inside their teeth and then get up as guest come in to take orders and ring them up. Pretty disgusting if you ask me. The only good thing about this place is that they have the best tasting duck. What they put in it is like crack but who knows… it could really be crack!

Perfect roast duck and roast pork!!! This is a Cantonese BBQ place so don’t go there and ask for other food. That’s asking too much!

I’ve eaten here several times thinking I must be wrong, given all the great reviews. I’ve tried multiple things on the menu and they are all mediocre to bad. I did not try the pork or the duck though and I guess thats what most people are giving the high ratings for. So, if you want anything other than pork or duck, I do NOT recomment this restaurant. There are many other good asian restaurants in the area.

I’m giving this a 5 star purely for the food. Since the place isn’t purely 100% restaurant style, I don’t have complaints on the services. It’s a fast paced in-out grab your roast duck, pork, bbq pork, etc. then leave so doesn’t leave much for the service. You can call and order ahead and asked for food to be cut but 10⁄10 times that I did this, nothing will get done until you get there. I guess they don’t want to deal with ‘no-shows.’ I also like that when you ask for 1 lb of meat, you don’t get 1.5 lb of food. They’re fairly precise and good with keeping it real so you’ll get 1 — 1.1 lbs(they’re not one of those places that try to sell you more). Ok back to the food. Their food is better than bbq places in Chicago and better than a lot of places in CA, too. That says a lot! Everything about their bbq meats is just tasty. We ordered an entire large sized roast pig for a party and there was no left-overs. It’s that good! They do accept credit cards and no minimum charges. Although it’ll be hard to walk out of that place with less than $ 5 worth of food.

Grew up eating their Cantonese style roasted pork, duck, and barbecue pork. Best in Minnesota! Best time to go is mid-afternoon, when everything is fresh(unless it’s a holiday, then you may be out of luck in getting anything at a later time).

The BBQ ribs are very good. You cannot find it anywhere else. I have come here for at least 10 years. Every single time, I have never left without the BBQ ribs. Its sweet taste was addictive.

One of my favorite places to get duck. Not too big of a fan of the braised pork though. Growing up my parents would just buy a whole bunch and we would stuff ourselves for like a week. Delicious. Make sure you use their sauce and if you’re going to do take out call in advance so they can have your order ready for you to pick up without waiting. Never actually dined in until a few weeks ago. Their service was pretty good and portion sizes were probably more healthy than what my family used to do. I enjoyed their beef chow fun noodles too.

I am so sorry that we came here and got anything other than duck or pork. We decided to eat here thanks to my sister toting how«great» their roast duck noodle soup is. Boy, was she wrong! Well… I guess she was right in that it was standard in terms of a Chinese soup, but they’re not known for their soups anyway. So, stick to the duck and pork and you’ll be happy. I wouldn’t recommend anything else though.

Grew up in the Bay Area… This place is the real deal for good duck and roast pork. Make sure you eat on a weekend and order the duck. I have not tried anything else, but I suspect its good. Not a fancy place, but nice people with great food. Order from the yellow menu… just ask.

I paid attention to the other reviews on Unilocal.Three of us came here for dinner, ignoring the main menu and ordering from the yellow laminated page of specials instead. Although roast duck chow fun wasn’t on either menu, the cook obliged. We also got an order of BBQ pork lo mein and balanced out the two greasy noodle dishes with a simple plate of Chinese broccoli. Although the roast duck and BBQ pork are the reason to come here, the veggies were a delightful surprise, cooked and seasoned to perfection. I was really pleased that the cook whipped up some duck chow fun for me, but all three of us agreed that the pork lo mein was the best of the three dishes. I don’t get to this part of town often, and would think twice about making a special trip… unless I get a hankering for BBQ Pork that just has to be scratched! It’s a lot cheaper than airfare to San Francisco.

Hands down, the House of Wu is absolutely the best place to get Cantonese style roast duck and pork in Minnesota. They are even comparable to the Chinatowns in San Francisco and Chicago. No joke. I know people from Northfield, Duluth, and other places far outside of the Twin Cities make several hour trips to the House of Wu just to eat the roast duck and pork. I don’t blame them, because the juicy, crispy, and fatty skin and meat, on both the pork and duck, easily satisfies my inner carnivore. I’m glad I don’t live too close to the House of Wu, because I’m sure I would get high cholesterol. Don’t go here for the lunch or the dinner. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing the roast duck and pork are. P. S. I heard that the place is haunted, so I wouldn’t go at night. LOL. Get your roast duck and pork fixings on the weekend during the day.

This is a hole in the wall place that I have NEVER had the desire to eat in. Now you are wondering, why the 5 stars? This place is hand down the BEST roast Cantonese roast duck and pork in MN. The only place I would recommend over this place is in China Town in LA or NY that requires another review altogether. If you want to impress your friends during the holidays, buy a whole duck and have it chopped and serve it to your family. Again one of the most amazing place to get take outs!

BEST Cantonese style roast duck, pork and BBQ in Minnesota. Period. Our family has visited this place for years, have tried many styles of duck, pork, and BBQ, but this place is by far the best! There is Tai Hoa in St. Paul, but I haven’t tried it yet, so my review is slightly biased. Note that Minnesota is home to roughly 13k Chinese people, so the quality of authentic Cantonese/Chinese food varies. However, House of Wu is different. It can be compared to the restaurants that you would find in a Chicago or New York Chinatown. One thing that we usually do is that we generally order take-out. I think the restaurant is known for their ducks and BBQ, hence, it is usually empty inside. The interior is beautiful though, so lunch inside is a possibility in the future.
