When you sell a group of 6 the buffet option. You might want to tell them that they are closing it down in 15 minutes.

I read the reviews, and expected it to not to be great, and yes, the reviews delivered. Ordered the rib eye, and it was drowning in grease. They need to stop serving it on the hot plate. I would go on and on, but no need to beat a dead horse.

We received a gift card to Ernie’s and quickly became excited over Sunday brunch. I made reservations the day before and the red flags started to pop. A gentleman answered the phone and started to take my information. As I was spelling my name, I could overhear the owner yelling at the employee who was on the phone with me. Within seconds, you could hear shuffling and the owner was on the phone to finish getting my name for our Sunday 11⁄089:30 reservation. I hung up thinking, uff duh, that was a little abrasive. Fast forward to Sunday, three adults, one child and empty bellies. We were greeted by the owner who said you must be Laura, I said no my name is Lisa. He played it off but then started yelling at the employee on where to seat us and began to tell us that we came at the right time because at ten«this place» would be packed. Within minutes, the owner starting swearing at his staff. Seriously throwing around the F bomb in front of my child! Fine, it happens, a little unprofessional but whatever. So the food… It was TERRIBLE! The French toast(that everyone raves about) was cold. Pancakes sucked and well my made-to-order omelet was still raw! Yuck! To top it all off… The wait staff shirts read this on their backs.“My boss hates when I shorten his name to Dick… His name is John!” John you’re more than a dick, you’re an a$$. Your food sucks and I have absolutely no idea why your staff still works there! And not to mention the place was a ghost town at ten! Don’t waste your time, money and empty bellies!

Well. Let me start off by saying the food is decent. No gourmet brunch at all. However. The atmosphere and employees were some of the best I have ever seen! So positive! So enthusiastic about their food! The brunch buffet was yummy if your looking for your basic, unhealthy, indulgent brunch. I would love to go back on an evening to check out what it’s like. Have an open mind and have fun when you go in!

We went for brunch and it was«okay». Not a huge selection. Bacon is paper thin and greasy. Scrambled eggs were far from fluffy. We were sitting in the bar area and there was only one other table occupied in there and the dining room looked to be half full, but yet, the servers and the bartenders were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I am not sure if they were short staffed, but they didn’t seem overly busy and it was really annoying having someone so rushed and stressed surrounding you when you are trying to enjoy a leisurely brunch. Buffet price was reasonable, for what you got.

This was our first visit to Ernie’s. We went for Sunday brunch. Oh my! The food was hot and fresh with the mater’d constantly monitoring the dishes and refilling as needed. It operated like a well-oiled machine. The crème brûlée French toast is amazing, the sausage in the buffet was incredible, and it was complete with a made-to-order omelet station. The bloody mary was huge(the OMG size!) and tasty. The wait staff was super friendly and helpful. It was a genuinely fun brunch with, as another reviewer wrote, a family-friendly atmosphere. It is a great value for the price. We will definitely be back for brunch and we are looking forward to trying it out for lunch and dinner.

If you are looking for a place with 100 beers on tap or 57 televisions with every conceivable sporting event showing on one or more screens, move along. This is not going to be the kind of place you want to go. If – on the other hand – you want great food from a scratch kitchen and a family-friendly atmosphere where you can actually hear the person at the other end of the table, read on. We had dinner last night with our friend who is gluten-free. Her allergy is real and Ernie’s has one of the largest varieties of menu items that are gluten-free.(PS: it’s also a great Celiac-friendly menu too!) The coconut shrimp and chicken tenders were fantastic. The house barbeque sauce is made from scratch as well as the piña colada sauce for the deep-fried shrimp. My wife had a great reuben sandwich and our gluten-free friend had a black and bleu spud bowl that was clearly a treat for her. For dessert, we shared crème brulee that was fired at tableside and a chocolate torte that was also gluten free. It isn’t the easiest place to get to since it is sandwiched between the 35E/35W split in Burnsville, but it is worth the effort if you want a great meal. We have also had the Sunday brunch and that is wonderful too.

Just stopped in for lunch today. I ordered the pasta pomodoro with Italian sausage … So delicious and the right size. It’s going to be hard for me to choose something different next time as it was so delicious! My husband ordered the Cobb salad and he devoured it … It was a beautiful looking salad!

Where do I start… To sum it up in one word, disappointing. The restaurant/atmosphere — 1TV in the bar area with music playing very low, so you could hear the sounds of the bartender spiking the bottles in the trash can… It’s August and they have Christmas decorations above the bar… Paint bubbling on the walls and a light above the bar falling apart. STAFF — Nice. Not overly friendly and not rude. Food — I got the Burnsville Philly and it was disappointing.. Plenty of food but not very good. I don’t typically leave bad reviews but I have to be honest.

We went to Ernie’s last night for the first time and never again. The place was not crowded and they were out of chicken wings when I attempted to order some. I ordered the Cobb Salad which had very little chicken on it and was diced into tiny little cubes. I also had a cup of French Onion soup with hardly any onions in it. My wife and our friend had the prime rib which was at least 40% fat. Our friend tried to send it back and we were told it was the last of the prime rib for the evening. The odd thing was our friend had a gin martini which arrived with olives in it. Normal practice. The waitress took it back saying something about olives. She returned with the same drink with two olives in it and my friend was charged 50 cents on his tab for olives. Never seen that before. The waitress was very friendly and apologetic about the fat content of the prime rib. However, I was surprised at what was written on the back of the wait staff t-shirts. I cannot write what was on the shirt, but some people may take exception to it.

This place is nice, but incredibly over-priced. It’s a great place for people with gluten allergies(as this seems to be their primary target audience) but if you don’t have gluten restrictions, there are better, more affordable places in town.

I’d like to start off by saying my bf and I are not picky eaters at all. We’ve been here 3 times for food, and 2 out of the 3 times we’ve been served pretty inedible food. The first time we went for their happy hour(which is amazing, 50% off almost all alcoholic beverages) and ordered the potstickers. They were incredibly salty and dry, we didn’t finish them. The second time we went back and I got a burger and my bf got the Cobb salad. We both thought our food was kind of «eh», but totally edible unlike the potstickers. Third time we went back for their happy hour we got the chicken nachos. When they came to our table they smelled very strongly of hot dogs, and the chicken had an odd taste. I’m not sure if it was real chicken on these $ 13, overpriced nachos. Also, instead of real cheese they used that weird nacho cheese you can buy in a jar. We couldn’t bring ourselves to eat them. In summary, I’d recommend going for their happy hour drinks, but not getting any food.

Lots of gluten free choices which is a big plus, but execution was poor. We had a stuffed mushroom appetizer that needed relief from too many olives plus it needed more time in the oven. My entrée was smoked prime rib and it was very tasty. However the loaded mash potatoes were — and I am choosing my words carefully– disgusting. The potatoes were brown and over seasoned and the toppings included canned cheese. Awful. One dinner mate had an acceptable Asian salad and the other had passable ribs. Side of Brussels sprouts had no seasoning but a little salt brought them to life. Service was good, friendly, and fast. Bottom line is that this place will do in a pinch.

Our Friday night dinner out was a dud. An expensive dud. $ 95 with tip. It started with decent service. Friendly hostess, nice waitress, mood music was 80’s at 8 Sirius Satellite. That was the best it got. Décor was a confused 90’s hodge podge of random stuff. The menu choices looked promising. We decided to start with the scallop appetizer for $ 14.95. A bit high for an appetizer but it said it came with 6 so we went for it. It arrived at the table and it smelled unpleasant. Even the woman at the next table commented on the bad smell. Also the scallops were very very small. It was like they took 2 scallops and sliced them very thin to make six pieces. Not that it mattered after taking a bite. It did not taste like scallops are supposed to taste. It tasted old and we sent it back. It was just bad. Yuck. We discussed bailing altogether but had already ordered and decided to stick it out. It couldn’t get much worse right? Next up was the soup and salad. His garden salad was very fresh and tasty and he said the croutons were delicious. I had the French onion soup which was just ok. The cheese was a little too broiled and the croûton was very soggy. But that’s not too uncommon. Also the soup was not too salty. Now for main course. He ordered the friday night special smoke prime rib. I ordered the ribeye. We both chose medium rare with loaded baked potato. I also ordered the chopped brussel sprouts which were mentioned as a specialty item on the menu. My steak was delivered on a sizzling platter and looked mouth watering. I was excited. The butter was bubbling out of my baked potato. My first bite was tasty, I even gave him a bite. It was medium rare like I ordered and hot. I ate the tenderloin portion at the edge but then noticed an odd rancid oil smell as the plate cooled. Some bites started to taste odd and I spit them out. I picked at it and some pieces tasted okay but others were nasty. I gave up on it and ate my potato which was good. He tasted his prime rib and wasn’t a fan of the heavy liguid smoke flavor. He also picked at his prime rib and didn’t finish. He ate his potato instead too. The lady at the next table also had the prime rib and she said she liked it. I tried the highlighted«a category all its own» menu item, chopped brussel sprouts and rather than tasting fresh and flavorful, it was heavy and flavorless. Like buttery cardboard. So we paid the over priced bill and went to Dairy Queen to wash our taste buds in ice cream. Never ever going back to Ernie’s.

I feel this place is A-OK for a person to try and make their own opinion. The food has great flare and an abundance of flavors. Gluten free menu, is massive and I feel any person COULD find an acceptable meal here. While I wish the owners Jon and Brian nothing but wonderful years and success with their business. It has been roughly seven months since I entered the back of the establishment, and this review may be out of date. It how ever does not negate the fact the ACCEPTABLESTANDARDOFCLEAN was to have stored BLACKLATEX paint next to plates, and a make line. I have” himmmm’d and Haaaaaw’d «about making this review since I left. Knowing how uncomfortable it made me then, and still makes me nervous now. I FELT an unfulfilled obligation to the customers, to share this knowledge.

I was in town on a business trip. Stayed across the way at the Hampton Inn. I’m glad I did and found this«hidden» gem. Those who have been here before know what I mean by hidden. The location seems to be far off a high traffic road, making it difficult to see while driving. For those who are Gluten Free, like myself, this place is amazing! Almost every option on the menu is Gluten Free which makes it difficult to choose an entrée. For my 4 day stay, I did dinner twice, then Breakfast and Lunch. Every meal I had was delicious! If I do have to travel back in business sometime, I know where I will be eating Dinner! Cheers

If you think Applebee’s sucks, eat here and you’ll be wishing you went to Applebee’s instead. Very overpriced. The scallops appetizer is $ 15 and is supposed to come with 6 scallops. They give you 2 scallops sliced into thirds, so you get 6 thin scallop discs. They would be out of business if it weren’t for the hotels surrounding it.

Stopped by Ernie’s tonight for a quick bite. Burger and fries. Hard to mess that up. Burger was passable. Fries were a soggy, greasy mess. I RARELY send back food, but I asked the waitress if the kitchen could give it another try. They did. Result the same. Fries were grease-soaked and limp. Was the fryer set at too low a temp? Were the potatoes frozen or thawed or damp? I’m not sure the cause but they were not edible. Service was very good.

Tucked away, seemingly being swallowed by hotels, is a hidden brunch gem. I have had lunch at Ernie’s as well but that was mediocre. I highly recommend coming here for a Sunday brunch but cannot enthusiastically recommend this for any other meal. Brunch was… Interesting. Partly due to the high energy guy at the front desk zipping around and yelling at people in his headset. Also partly due to the chickens-to-sprinkled feed-like madness that occurred with people during the dumping of the delicious crème brûlée french toast into the serving bin. I never saw anything like it. Every other brunch item could be fully stocked but if the french toast was out, people would wait holding their plates and drool with anger. Scary! Crack toast aside, the brunch as a whole was delicious. They have your standard fare with the above mentioned superstar. The customized omelet bar is a must try as well. Do yourself a favor and avoid their Bloody Mary like you avoid potholes in the road. We had a table of 8 and 6 of us ordered bloodies. All of us hated it. It’s not interesting. Nothing but a pickle in there with some thick, bland, chunky weirdness. Bleh. It was like bubble tea with… tomato parts? Nobody identified the chunks that were being slurped up our straws frequently. I’m not a bloody master but this was wrong. One drink complaint aside, it was good. Everyone was fat and happy after their delicious selection of brunch delights. We will definitely be back but we will be ordering mimosas next time for sure.
