Sunset House B&B was a nice place to stay in a great downtown location. We were just a few blocks walking from everything we wanted to do or see in town. The history of the house itself is really neat, and Nancy and Paul– the husband/wife team who operate the business– seem like really great people. Although we didn’t meet Paul, we corresponded with him several times through email, and he was always very cordial. We spoke lots with Nancy while at the house, and she was a really warm person. We enjoyed chatting with her. The house itself is not quite my style, but it was very clean. Nancy joked that people say they feel like they are staying at their grandmother’s house when they visit: lots of trinkets, antique furniture, and teddy bears. The self-serve breakfast consisted of english muffins and bagels(with peanut butter or butter toppings), fruit, yogurt, fresh coffee, and cereal. One day we were there, Nancy baked a loaf of delicious chocolate-chip banana bread and the other she served fresh strawberries and blueberries. The only downside to the house is that you do share two bathrooms with the other guests. That said, they were always clean and only once did we have to wait on someone for a shower.(In fact, we didn’t really bump into the other guests that much.) The other downside is that it would have been nice to have internet access, but we just used our phones and were okay. We really enjoyed our time here overall and would recommend it!
