Stephen’s Auto Repair

My car broke down for what i knew was a easy fix but i unfortunately was not close to home or any mechanics i knew. So i called around and was told they could get my car done bt tomorrow. Sent my car over and got quote same day. It was a little high for the work being done but i expressed my concern and they worked with me on the price. Bunch of great guys would definitely go again if i found myself in the area and in need of service.

Gougers!!! Actually chose to go here upon the reviews bc I was in a pinch, now rereading many realized that several repairs noted here were light duty and/​or not enough people sounding off, me for one rarely who writes a review let alone has experienced someone fully taking advantage of their situation, fortunately. My car was towed there and I knew what the issues was not a huge job by any means (pulley broke throwing belt). The estimate later was very high, mostly labor expressing how that was a lot of money for this particular job but he stayed steadfast justifying the charges. What are you suppose to do, tow it again or lose another day of work? Realizing all these factors I chose to suck it up and not debate him since he could easily decide not to finish the car that day, having me over a barrel and mercy.
Upon picking the car up the bill actually was $ 60 more than the initial overpricing, just shy of $ 500 for belt tensioner, p/​steering pulley, and minor fluids — seriously? Plus they charged triple the amount on one of the parts. By no means am I an average consumer, nope, former service manager and have pulled many wrenches in my day and would have done the job myself had it not been for inclement weather unable to work outside on it and needing it for work immediately. My point is I have first hand experience with the industry and in all my years I’m fortunate to say that when I have relied on repair shops they didn’t take advantage of me as these blokes did. Their labor fee is $ 98 an hour. No that’s not a type-​o. I also take reviews very seriously and like accuracy as well as being fair and getting on here if someone does a great job but this really burns my ass. Felt bc I’m not local to them they had nothing to lose but to hit me up for all they could. I dealt with Stephen the owner the entire time. Not saying he didn’t do a good job but it wasn’t a heavily involved repair at all nor should a small time shop charge shy of a HUNDRED DOLLARS AN HOUR Labor– bottom line.

Family Run Business… speedy service… and they do a great job at only fixing what needs to be done. Trustworthy and so glad they are located near my work!

I went to these guys twice now, simply because their shop is next to my bus stop for work. And both times they have diagnosed my problems that two different mechanics misdiagnosed. And the two misdiagnosed problems would have costed me a lot more money than what Stephen’s shop charged me. So basically they’re honest, quick and they know what they’re talking about. I won’t go anywhere else but here from now on.

Great shop — they do good work, are great to deal with, honest about costs, happy to let me know when a given job is or is not necessary, and will do some little things for no charge.

AAA towed my Volvo-​S40 2.4i to Stephen’s with tire and rim issues. Communication was excellent. Stephen’s team was very nice, efficient and skilled.
There was never a question about what the next steps were, time frames, etc. Stephen was also very accessible when I had questions or needed a short turnaround.
Do not hesitate to use Stephen and his team. I know I will use him whenever I have needs arise that requires his expertise.

I put off getting my breaks fixed and inevitably my caliber went when I was on 95. AAA towed my car to Stephens on a Saturday and my car was ready on Monday. They called me with a price in the morning, I approved the work and my car was done 2 hours later. Everyone was really nice and they were straight up with prices ect.

I was visiting from Long Island and got a flat, a lot of places where I live get annoyed with these sort of «simple requests» but they were very nice, funny even and had my tire fixed in 5 minutes. Tire is just fine, made the trip all the way home and then some.

Was very unhappy with the work done by this facility. It was my first time bringing my 2007 Audi A4 to this mechanic. The car had a broken windshield wiper transmission and a broke passenger side window regulator.
The cost was high — about $ 550 without parts. With parts, the total was about $ 775. EEK!
Everything seemed fine when I picked up my car; within a couple of days, however, I had three problems. First, before a snow storm, I noticed that the windshield wipers would not fold up because they were installed too far under the hood. Second, I noticed a large 1″ gash in the passenger side door panel leather. Third, I found two extra piece that did not get reinstalled — a bolt that was on the passenger side floor and long tap that cleans the window when it goes up and down.
Although there are many other reviews on here that are positive, my experience was extremely souring. I would not recommend this shop for detailed work. It may be fine for brakes or oil changes, but when it comes to technically detailed work, they fail.
I think that I would have been better off bringing my car to the dealer. The price would have been about 75 $ more, but it would have been done right.
In addition, when I called about the windshield wiper problem, the conversation seemed hostile. He did tell me to bring it by so that they could fix it. You’re a professional mechanic, why do you need to fix your owe work? I pay a premium so that this doesn’t happen.

These guys are mechanic dreamboats! I came to MA from San Diego, where I entrusted my ’96 Nissan pick-​up to the same shop for nine years. I didn’t want to break up, but long-​distance relationships don’t really work for car mechanics. Justifiably concerned about trusting again, I came across Stephen’s Auto and proceeded gingerly. I took my car in for an oil change and to have some belts replaced. The price was right for this area, and they even gave me a ride from work to pick up my car, which was extraordinarily convenient. They don’t do bodywork, but after I dented my fender so that I couldn’t turn sharp lefts without causing major tire damage, they took a few minutes and a crowbar to fix the problem without charging me. THAT is when I knew these guys were keepers. If only dating were this simple!

A couple of years ago my Honda CRV had a malfunction. I went to dealership (Herbs chambers in Burlington) and they said it’s take 300 $ to fix. I said no thanks and took it to Stephen’s. $ 13 for the part and $ 30 for labor and car was as good as new. Turned out it was a small plastic piece that broke. I always take my cars now to his shop. One more visit coming next week.
