Only getting a good review because they do a great job with eyebrow threading. But the staff at the desk is SO rude. Hope Smita, the owner is reading this and fixes it because she’s absolutely going to lose customers. I don’t even like walking in because of how rude they are.

I’ve been back here at least once a month ever since I wrote my previous review. It has become my go-​to place for threading. $ 8 for eyebrows and $ 5 for upper lip is probably the best deal I’ve found so far, plus with the loyalty card, your 10^th visit is free for eyebrows. Smita really does an excellent job, if you tell her how you want your eyebrows (ex– not too thin, just to clean up), and she does the upper lip quickly so you don’t feel much pain.
My previous issues are still the same (long wait times), but if you are prepared to sit around for about 30 minutes or so and you’re not in a rush, I’d say for the prices, it is worth it.

I went here to buy my first saree. The sales lady was very helpful. She explained all of the parts of the saree and helped me narrow down my search to items in my price range. I chose a beautiful teal saree and she found a gold blouse and a matching teal petticoat. The whole outfit came in well under budget.
My advice to first time saree wearers is to have her show you how to tie it. When I got home, I watched a few youtube videos. It’s a lot trickier than I imagined.

Really awesome specialy for eyebrows. Pretty fast and not too expensive as wel. I also got s hair cut done. The lady is an expert and styled my hair really well. Besides they do waxing as well. Nice and clean place. Probably the best i found in boston.

I recently moved back into the ‘burbs went to Smita’s because I saw a few decent reviews and thought maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. Needless to say, I left rather upset and disappointed…
When I arrived, the front desk woman was on her cell phone, and when I asked for eyebrows she said there was a couple minute wait, no problem. When it was my turn, she stood at the desk and snapped her fingers at me and said «go, go». I sat down in the chair, hoping to have any kind of conversation, and when that didn’t happen, I asked that Smita be careful to not make my brows to thin and to leave the bottom of a part of my eyebrow alone. There’s a small section that doesn’t grow hair and newbies to my brows often think it should be removed. Well, my two comments were brushed off hastily. She was very rough with the thread, talking to kids the whole time doing my brows, and at one point threaded my eyeball.
I sat up and she asked what I thought, and I immediately wanted to cry. When I said my right eyebrow is thinner, she immediately defended herself by saying she didn’t touch the part I asked her not to. In the end, I have two differently shaped eyebrows. I feel like I was rushed and then disregarded. When it was time to pay, the woman at the front seemed annoyed that I was paying with a card and that I had interrupted her continued cell phone conversation.
All in all, the service has not improved and I will not be returning. I think most women can relate — it’s hard when you trust your looks to someone else that doesn’t seem to care how to look to the outside world. Society is tough these days, and to be in the beauty industry and give such lackluster care towards beauty is hard to understand.

I would give negative amount of stars if that were an option. Unilocal made me select 1 star, or wouldn’t let me post.
I was booked for a 12:30PM waxing appointment. At 12:50PM, I was eventually ushered into a creepy, unclean room, by a very rude lady. I laid there for 10 minutes SCANTILY CLAD. At this point, half of my lunch break was destroyed. I was so annoyed by my wasted time and customer service, I got dressed and walked out. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE.

I like Smita’s boutique for many reasons. I have been getting my eyebrows threaded from her for the last 15 years or so. Waxing no matter where I go or what they use has always left me with breakouts. So I found threading to be the best solution for me.
$ 8 for the service. She always has a line which tells you it’s the place to be.
They also sell jewelry. Pretty, sparkly, costume, colorful and fun Oh and inexpensive! I get lots of compliments whenever I wear the jewelry I have purchased there.
They have just expanded and remodeled. It has a good feel to it when you walk in. Plenty of parking.

Yup– went here after deciding the mall threading place kept making my face breakout.

Her husband (?) at the desk was funny and nice to talk to as well.
Make no mistake that this place is set up for Indian locals-​but non Indians will enjoy the great eyebrow threading and cool Indian vibe.
You do just need to wait until she is ready as well– (which I am totally OK with) so if you need to keep that in mind– I didnt see anyone else who did the threading but not sure if there is a 2^nd person when it gets busy.
Definitely be back in a week or two when I need to get my eyebrows re done

Threading: First things first and I’ll start with a disclaimer. If you can ignore the chatty staff and ignorant Indian employees who assume every brown-​colored skin person speaks Hindi, then this is the place to go for your eyebrows. Though I must say, Smita does a far better job when compared to the other ‘eyebrow women’. Why? Well, to begin with they are ALWAYS in a rush; there’s always an important conversation to get back to. Go figure.
I almost always ask my eyebrows to be ‘cleaned up’ because the eyebrow women do a pretty awful job (the last one being Hetal). And did I also mention that she gave me line brows? I have been growing mine ever since. Smita on the other hand, is fast and offers a pain free experience.
Waxing: Bitter sweet experience. It took one bad experience and that was it for me. I had (still do have) bumps on my legs from aggressive waxing (read intense pulling). Also, there was a temp who used to work there in the summer who told me that the employees do no handle the waxing station and clients with clean hands. I don’t know how true this is (maybe a disgruntled employee? I don’t know), but it was definitely disturbing to hear.
Front office staff: The woman with the long hair; one with the perpetual frown — Not so friendly. In fact, she’s pretty rude. The new employees however, are incredibly sweet and really help the crumbling customer service recover– slowly.
My general feedback to Smita and her husband,. do something about your original staff (coach them, talk to them, do something because they are pretty rude!). The new girls are great!

I’ve been going to Smita for almost 4 years now. Customer service is really, REALLY bad, but I liked how she did my eyebrows. Having said that, the last 6months that I went there, things just had gotten so much worse, I got a rash around my eyebrows that lasted 3 weeks. I didn’t think it was because Of it, but I just read that someone had the same reaction.
Smita taking on the phone while doing threading is another thing that really bothers me, before, when she did a good job, I was ok with it, but the last time I was there, she was on the phone and taking care of the front desk and doing my eyebrows at the same time. After she was done, my eyebrows were very thin, and wi I pointed it out to her, she immediately got all defensive that I just pretended nothing had happened and that I was ok with it.
Needless to say, I am not going back. First a rash because her salon is so unkept, then ridiculous thin looking brows just threw me off. I’m not going back

Went here to get my eyebrows done. There was no wait line, I went sometime in the afternoon. She took me right in and I was done in less than 5 minutes. She did a beautiful job and fairly quickly. The price is also pretty reasonable. I will definitely be going here again!

Very sad experience here. I am a regular here with Smitha. My little 3 yr old wanted to potty and the lady at the reception very rudely asked me to go to dunkin donuts. I mentioned I am a regular customer and she said restroom is not open for customers. I took kiddo to the Anthony Davis salon next door and they let me use the restroom. I went back to speak with Smitha who was apologetic about what happened. But the front desk lady was «I don’t care» and continued to act like a prick… Amazing how rude these folks are

walked right in and i had to wait about 10 minutes and a woman did my eyebrows in about 3 minutes and it was quickly done and awesome. It’s $ 8 for a threading but $ 9 if you use a credit/​debit card, but it’s still cheap for great service. Ill definitely go back next time I need a threading and I have enough time to spare.

I’ve been to Smita’s a few times, per other reviews I never go without an appointment; even if I only make it half an hour beforehand. I’ve never waited a long time and always get great service. It’s not a fancy place, but she is expanding and looks like it’s going to be really nice. You really can’t beat the price and quality of service.

I had been going to Smita’s for about 6 years. I’ve stopped because I’ve become incredibly annoyed with her appointment system. I’ve had appointments in the past where I still had to wait and people would walk in after me and get to go ahead of me. After all that, I just started calling them about 10 mins before I planned to stop by around 3pm so I could catch them at an unbusy time so I could ask how long the wait is. So that worked for me for a bit. I’d show up and be taken in w/​i 5 mins.
But then one day, I made an appt about 45 mins in advance. I show up and there’s several people in front of me. I’m told by the receptionist that Smita had to do a facial so I would have to wait. I was annoyed and told her that why would they accept my appt then? She said «I don’t know, but you can talk to her.»
I proceeded to the next room and asked Smita if she could just do my upper lip (that takes her literally 2 mins) and she said no because she had a facial to do. I said «Why did you take my appointment then?» She had no answer so I walked out and have never gone back since.
I go to the mall now where the service is exceptionally good and is worth the extra money. Read my review if you’d like about it.
Also, Smita tends to not listen when you tell her to not make your eyebrows any thinner or shorter.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
I almost never make my way out that way but I had an emergency and decided to stop by. The store is dirty, loud and completely disorganized. The other woman working with Smita worked on my eyebrows and SHE WOULD NOT STOP TALKING.
My eyebrows weren’t even cleaned up right, and didn’t even look the way they used to before the threading. And at one point I had 3 women looking down at me like I was being operated on. The lectures were long and boring and highly useless and only ended up making my appointment longer than it needed to be. I had to leave with semi-​cleaned eyebrows that later got itchy and red because of the cheap threads used at the store.
The only upside is the price ($ 8) which is much better than anywhere else, but honestly it isn’t worth the trip.

The shop area has some cute jewelry, but the real reason I came was to get my eyebrows threaded. I really wanted to like this place because it’s local and so close, but I just couldn’t. My brows came out slightly too thin which for me is not good because I have thin brows to start out with.
The threading lady doesn’t consult you before jumping in. She spoke with me afterwards saying if I wanted a higher arch, she could take out a bit underneath. Ironically, she said this wouldn’t work because then my brows would be too thin.
For someone with naturally thin brows, it would be smart to go somewhere where they have experience not to take any away from the under starting points of brows.
Kudos for the frequent punch card if you happen to like your brows this way.

Sometimes good sometimes bad. It’s completely disorganized. Smita will do your eyebrows, quick put some henna on a customer and then yell to the front desk woman, all while threading. I agree, she does them too thin, and it is not clean. It is the cheapest gig in town and you do get what you pay for. I go there on occasion and suck up the waiting to the cheap $ 8 eyebrow threading.
I otherwise recommend the threading spas in the various malls. I have been to Brain tree and Chestnut hill (the ones with the storefronts not kiosks) and have been happy paying double.
