This is the first time in my life I have been so disgusted by the cleanliness in a restaurant that I have gotten up and left before even ordering drinks. So, I can’t tell you how the food is, but I can tell you we stuck to the top of the table, the top of the seat, one of us got our hand stuck in gum under the seat, and another stood up from the table with a red streak stained onto the front of our shirt from the table we were sat at. I was so grossed out that I completely lost my appetite and didn’t eat lunch anywhere at all today. I definitely don’t recommend this place.

Great food. Large portions. Wait staff was very friendly. Good value for the size of portions. The wait time for food was a bit longer than usual but the flavor and portion sizes more than made up for it. I look forward to going there again.

Had decent pizza at Sal’s. It was very cheesy, but I wouldn’t call it NY style. There was a lot of cheese, but the cheese wasn’t the same as NY style I’ve eaten before. The sauce was good, but again wasn’t very NY style. The wings were fantastic! They were huge, the sauce was great, and they tasted really fresh. The ranch was on point as well. 4 stars mainly because the place is super dark. I went for lunch and it was really dark in there, even in the middle of the day. It’s also really crowded — not much room to move around among all the tables and partitions.

Love love love! Every time I come to town, this is the first place I have to stop! Not the best restaurant on the eyes, but the food is amazing.

My wife and I have been to Sal’s NY Café twice and can highly recommend the food. Our first visit: She ordered the calzone, which had fresh, smooth cheese inside(unlike most places which have cheese that have the consistency of melting plastic or rubbery glue). The dough was baked perfectly and lasted for 3 days of leftovers– all WHILE retaining the crisp outer crust and delicate smoothness of properly baked dough inside(soft and substantial). I ordered a steak/onion/pepper sub and fries. The roll was freshly toasted to perfection. It is tied at #1st place with Binh Mi Saigon(rice flour bread) as the best sub roll/bun that I have had. EVER. The crust was just crunchy enough and the inside was smooth and the texture soft –but NOT soggy. The meat was tender and slightly flavoured(no overpowering sauce of the moment ruining the flavour); the onions and peppers were crisp, crunchy(not raw crunchy), and picked up the complementary steak flavour without aftertaste. The fries were the best fries I have had that were not spicy. I like spicy fries. These fries equal my favourite spicy fries. They were still crisp when we arrived home 2 ½ later and just required a quick reheat in the toater oven. The last menu item we ordered was a pineapple and cheese pizza for our daughter. She is very, very picky about how she likes her pizza. She usually does not care for pizza crust. She ate the entire pizza, including the crust. She saved me a very small bite. Yum! I should have ordered 2 pizzas. Our second visit: Have you ever gone to a restaurant and had a wonderful first time; a pretty good second time; an okay third time; and then never gone back? Sal’s NY Café and Grill is NOT like that. It equaled our first visit on every mark and surpassed it on customer service. A month later we went back to Sal’s(late afternoon/early evening). We ordered the same menu items as our first visit(compare subs to subs, calzones to calzones). The staff were helpful and like our first visit, kept our drinks refilled and asked after our needs. The restaurant was busier than our previous visit and we did expect the food to not quite equal our first experience. We were wrong. We ordered the same items and they were the same excellent quality. The calzone is a large portion(larger than most I’ve seen anyway). The portion of fries was exactly the right amount for pairing with the sub. I finished the fries and although I would have probably eaten more, I felt that when the fries were gone I had eaten the proper amount. I then devoured the sub. Sal’s New York Café & Grill has more of a café /casual grill which serves great pizza atmosphere. There is a small bar area; ample space between tables; pleasant and helpful staff; portions generous(not gigantic); excellent. quality; and reasonably priced. All that aside, the best rating of a restaurant is whether you would happily return for another meal. Not only would we happily return, we will go miles out of our way to eat here again.

Call in restaurant impossible! What use to be a good clean restaurant with fair prices as turned into an out dated kitchen nighmare. Business is non exsistant, an neither is taste. Last week was my final trip to this dump.
