Established in 2012.

Pure Joy Skin Care & Wax Studio LLC first started out in Olympia, Washington, but in December 2013, I moved my skin care business to the beautiful Skagit Valley to be closer to my friends and family. I love caring for my clients by using and selling affordable skin care products and using the best waxes for their waxing services. I make it a point to educate myself on the latest services and techniques.

I love science and that is just one of the many reasons I chose to become a Licensed Esthetician. I was trained at The Salon Professional Academy in Tacoma, Washington graduating at the top of my class. I continue my education to keep myself current with the newest and most advanced techniques and products available. Caring for people and helping them look and feel their best is a rewarding and fulfilling goal for me whether your service is waxing, tinting, or a facial or body treatment. I can give you both the spa experience and a therapeutic solution to your skin care concerns. I have a passion for scientifically proven skin care treatments and products and I am committed to your healthy skin. Your skin’s good health is not a luxury… it’s a lifestyle.

I stumbled across Pure Joy while trying to figure out where best to go for a Brazilian wax — BEST STUMBLE EVER! Joy is amazing and immediately put my very nervous self to ease on the phone when I made my initial appointment, and again in person when I arrived for my wax. I was a first-​timer and it could not have been a more positive experience. She is just fantastic at what she does and I can’t go on enough about how highly I would recommend Pure Joy to others. She immediately put me at ease, and I left feeling like I’d made a new friend. In addition to having a fantastic ‘in person’ experience, my wax was perfection. I didn’t break out (as I’ve read is so common) at all, and after everything Joy shared about how particular she is about her wax (and waxing practices) — I’m sure her skill and attention to detail (and the importance of proper practices) is the reason for that. I will definitely be back! (In fact, I already made my next appointment!)

Very professional and comfortable. I’m a hairy guy, so sometimes I like to have my back and shoulders waxed… it usually sucks, but Joy is really good, she even gave me some tips as to how to avoid irritation. Joy, if you’re reading this, great job! I’ll be in again soon.

Pure Joy is everything you could possibly desire from a luxury up-​scale spa experience, and conveniently located in Burlington. The level of personalization and professionalism I received from Joy surpasses anything I’ve encountered in the services of other boutiques. Take comfort in the fact that not only does Joy know her craft, and have outstanding customer service, but her sharp clinical knowledge of microbiology and the sciences provide a solid foundation for her services and leave your skin looking and feeling wonderful!
This was my first visit with Joy, and she has just earned herself a new permanent client.

Joy is not only professional, but she’s a good people person! When getting bikini wax or even a Brazilian wax women can be really shy and uncomfortable but joy is perfect with breaking the ice and getting you comfortable.
She knows her stuff. When I go to some places for even an eyebrow wax I get the feel of «I’m only doing this because it’s a fast degree», but joy is actually interested in her job and it really shows in her work and her attitude. I’ve never seen someone so into their job.
She has a background in veterinarian work so she has experience in biology. She’s sanitary and she explains EVERYTHING for you so you’re not in the dark about what’s going on.
Super awesome lady and I won’t go anywhere else!

I was able to visit Joy and her lovely studio on a whim and I am glad I did. I pulled up in the back of the building which has ample parking. I walked in and was greeted promptly by Joy. I filled out a questionnaire regarding skin health background. She also had post care instructions already ready for me to take before the session. I haven’t had anyone provide anything like that which was really nice and showed me she was on top of her game and detail oriented.
Her studio is very clean and her waxing is very sanitary. She uses gloves and never double dips in the wax. Joy is personable and very friendly! I will definitely visit her again when I’m in the area!

Look no further, just go! I found Joy via Unilocal and decided to go first based on the raving reviews, then I saw the extremely reasonable price and the good location. I was 100% satisfied and plan on going back in 5 weeks for my follow-​up wax services. I love how friendly Joy is and her thorough explanation of everything flows naturally and is something I deeply appreciate. I felt completely comfortable and in good hands right from the beginning. I have had my fair share of waxes, including many by close friends, and I must say that Joy’s wax was one of the best, if not the best, I have ever had!

Joy is an amazing aesthetician! I can be pretty picky with who I am willing to see for my waxing and skin services, but the search is over!
I used to get these services done at a 5-​star salon, so it was hard to find someone that I thought was worth seeing in this small town!
