Welcome to Prego’s
One step inside Prego’s and you will know you have found the right place to eat. The quaintness of our dinning room, the comforting aromas coming from the kitchen, and our gracious staff work together to bring to Burlington the fine tradition of Italian dinning.
Our love of Italian food is even shown in our menu. We offer not 20 or 30 items, but 66 authentic Italian dishes. Whether you’re in the mood for beef, veal, chicken, fish, or one of our excellent meatless dishes, you will leave with the feeling you can only get from a truly satisfying meal.
No meal is complete without coffee and dessert. Of course, we have regular and decaf coffee, but why stop there? We offer seven varieties of coffees, including Mexican, Irish, Cappuccino and more. Prego’s proudly offers you nine Italian desserts, five of them made fresh daily right here in our kitchen. And, yes, we offer homemade Tiramisu.
Nine beers and a thirteen item wine list (including our own homemade Sangria) will surely satisfy even the most discriminating pallet.
One visit and you, too, will be saying, «Let’s all go to Prego’s».
History
Established in 2006.
I have worked in the restaurant business for 25 years. I worked at one of the most prestigous Italian restaurants in Staten Island, Trattoria Romana. All of the knowledge I have I attribute to the years of working at Trattoria. I have always wanted to open up my own Italian restaurant so finally me and my Sous Chef decided it was time to try and make our dreams come true. A family friend mentioned Burlington NC as an ideal place to open up a restaurant. Finally after months of deliberation we decided and moved down to Burlington and opened up Prego’s Trattoria in 2005.

Business Owner
Hello. I’m Vincento Hernandez. I started Prego’s because I not only enjoy eating fine Italian food, but I also like sharing it with friends. We could make our dishes with less-expensive ingredients, we could take shortcuts to make our food faster, but that would not be in keeping with the Italian tradition. I make this commitment to you: We will serve you only the best food, made from original Italian recipes that have been unchanged for generations. On this, I insist! So please, come and join us for lunch today or dinner this evening. At Prego’s, food isn’t just our business, it’s our passion.
