Specialties

Our Burlington store features a wide-ranging selection of new, recently published books, whimsical stationery, toys and games. Our professional booksellers are always happy to make recommendations, or to special order a book if we don’t already have it on our shelves.

History

Established in 2007.

Phoenix Books was established in 2007 on the principles of social responsibility, community, and sustainability, and is a proud member of Local First Vermont and Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility. Phoenix Books Burlington and Phoenix Books Essex are locally-owned, independent bookstores. Our Essex location also houses a gallery and café. Whenever possible, Phoenix Books sources eco-friendly products from Fair Trade/Green Certified companies. Seven Days readers voted Phoenix Books the «Best Bookstore in Chittenden County» for the newspaper’s 2013, 2014, and 2015 Daysie Awards.
