As of January 1, 2014 we are now Mini Spa VT! But don’t worry, everything’s the same but the name! For the last 5 years, Mini Spa has been voted «Best Pedicure & Manicure» by the readers of 7 Days News. We have settled into our new location on Battery St. over the past year and are proud to offer so much more than pedicures!

History

Established in 2014.

After owner Beth graduated from Arizona State with a BA in English, this native Vermonter followed a stupid boy to Chicago in 1996. There, she decided to go to the Nail Academy to make some friends, and an unexpected career in the beauty industry was born!

The creation of the Mini Spa has grown from that seed, mixed with the pleasure of providing great service and the desire to help her team members achieve their goals.

Here’s to many years to come of exceptional spa services for the residents of Burlington, VT!

Doing nails has been a passion of mine for almost 15 years. Even though I have a degree in English, I decided to go into the salon/​spa business, where I have the opportunity to meet great people and every day is different.

I am married to my perfect match and we have two children, The women on my staff are very dear to me and make up my extended family. After all, we do spend more time with one another than we do with our blood relatives, so it’s a plus that we like each other!

Outside of work I enjoy horses, reading and being a wife and mom.

I’ve only experienced the waxing services here, but the front desk and the staff are so friendly and professional and they take what they do so seriously that I would never go anywhere else for a wax. They make it as pleasant an experience as possible, given that waxing can be intimidating. Best I’ve ever had and I’ve lived in New York and boston!

Very nice atmosphere. Mini Spa Vt makes great use of space and keeps their own stock of OPI Polish and AHAVA products for sale. I was able to talk to my pedicurist or not and she checked in to make sure I was happy with everything going on.
The only reason it’s not 5 stars is price doesn’t quite match the product. I usually expect a massage chair but no luck here. But, their foot pedestals make up for that a little. Ultimately the paint job was subpar.:/ but the experience as a whole beyond that was lovely :)

Despite the fact that it was a bit pricier than my pedicures at home– not bad. Our techs were chatty (sometimes a bit too chatty as I like to sit back and relax) but did a great job overall. Very sales-​y in trying to work in add on services and products but I guess that’s the name of the game.

Had a great experience getting a pedicure! First visit to this place and the staff impressed me with their style and level of service. I think it is a little pricey but will have to come back and give them another chance to wow me. It is true that we get what we pay for!

This was by far the best manicure and pedicure I have EVER had. The mini spa has a really great ambiance, with luxury foot soaking baths and a private waiting area. I had a newer associate (Candice I believe) and she was detail oriented and really great at her job! Everyone was so friendly and the chatting in the salon was natural and peasant. The wax was an amazing added touch and my French manicure was beautiful! I would recommend this salon to anyone looking for a long, luxurious treatment at a great price.

Had the best wax I’ve had in years here. I just moved from NYC, and this was even better. I usually leave with my face red and get bumps that last for several hours (sometimes a day or two). After an hour the redness was gone and I had no bumps. Plus it was painless! Highly recommend.

Best mani-​pedi I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot of them haha! So relaxing and the girls were the sweetest! Everyone just wanted to make sure we were happy and relaxed. Had coffee, tea, and water if we wanted it and a lounge in the back. They were booked solid for graduation weekend and I can see why!
The pedicure was amazing, complete with hot wax and a foot scrub and she completely transformed my feet! The manicure also had the hot wax and everything about the girls working with my sister and I was perfect! It was almost 2 hours though so keep your schedule flexible. Totally worth it though! Thanks gals!

Despite being a loyal and repeat customer for over 8 years and bringing in and recommending dozens of friends, I am being charged full price for not rescheduling the appointment within 24 hours. I was out of the country and when the plane landed in Atlanta yesterday at 7pm I immediately replied that I could not make my 10am appointment. I called this morning to explain and was informed I missed 2 previous appointments, 1 in 2012 and 1 in 2013. It is May 10, 2015. Funny they didn’t mention the 50+ appointments that I arrived early or on time. I understand it is a business but I also understand that sometimes things happen that are out of our control and prevent us from phoning/​texting/​emailing to reschedule an appointment. I also understand treating a loyal, repeat customer is pretty darn important to a business.

Wonderful customer service, awesome location, adorable salon, and Beth is a pro! Overall great experience and my shellac manicure was worth every penny. I’ve had many gel services before and most do not get the edges properly especially around the cuticle, Beth did mine flawlessly. My only complaint was that they didn’t use cuticle cream to help eat away the dry skin and then were a little hesitant on nipping the cuticles off. I know my cuticles were not that bad but there was definitely some dry skin that could’ve been removed. A salt scrub in the bathroom to wash your hands would also be a good idea! I am from out of town but travel often to this area, will definitely be back!

Normally I don’t write reviews, but I was compelled to do so after a wonderful experience here.
First of, I am not a VT native. I’m originally from South Florida and waxing salons are abundant on every block; until I moved up here.
After a few weeks of excessive «googling» I found the holy grail right in Burlington! Like the previous review said, «good Brazilians are hard to come by,» so it was a relief when I finally found this place.
Mini Spa is so quaint with a little downstairs entrance, and a cozy interior. It was love at first sight.
My esthetician, Kylie was super sweet and professional. Really enjoyed her presence and the work she did. The wax she used was surprisingly new to me! After years of waxing, I had never heard of a soy-​based wax, but I did feel the difference. There was much less pain involved considering it only clings onto the hair. Overall, the best wax; if that is even possible.
Finally when I all was said and waxed, the receptionist Jessica took care of me. She is super sweet, and funny! Loved chatting to her.
What a great little nook!
Guess I’m going to be a new regular.

I visited Mini Spa for the first time recently.
To start, when I called to make the appointment, the receptionist was so friendly and nice. A small gesture that started my Mini Spa experience off on the right foot.
I went in for a Brazilian and eyebrow wax… two things that are not exactly… enjoyable. However, the staff at Mini Spa were SO friendly and amazing! In a cold weather climate like Burlington, good Brazilians are hard to come by, but I think I’ve found my new place.
The esthetician was so professional, and extremely knowledgeable. She made the experience much less awkward than it sometimes can be. Not to mention the room was very comfortable and clean. She also didn’t double dip in the wax (its unsanitary and can cause skin infections), which I loved, and she was sure to clean me up proper at the end. Great quality waxing job! No missed spots.
I think I may have forgot to confirm that an eyebrow wax was also on the agenda for the appointment, but when I brought it up, they were more than accommodating. My eyebrows look great too!
The lovely receptionist I mentioned earlier even offered to do my makeup so that I didn’t have to go out in public with red blotchy brows. Such an amazing touch. They are really committed to customer service. My whole experience at Mini Spa was an absolute pleasure and I will definitely be back. I’m dying to try one of their pedicures!

Amazing Pedicure!!! Tyla did a great job, she made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. I loved the hot towels, and paraffin treatment. My favorite was the hot neck warmer:) I highly recommend getting a service done at their spa. The staff was very friendly and professional.

So each year I give my sister a pedicure for her birthday. For the past two years I’ve joined her (though it’s not considered a manly endeavor, who wouldn’t want their feet and legs massaged and cared for?). This place used to be called Tootsies and has since changed their name. Very nice, courteous staff. They offer you coffee from Speeder and Earls when you sit down. I don’t know a lot about pedicures (I’ve only ever had two) but they made this guy feel cared for from the moment I set foot (pun intended) in the place. Recommended for the pedicure professional and neophyte alike.

I love this place, professional & friendly all wrapped up with quality service. I have been a customer for quite a while and have loved their pedicures. I have been getting their «footlogics» pedi for over a year and my feet have never been in better condition. They prescribed at home care items that have actually kept my feet great in between services and they cured a nail fungus that I got from a nail place when I was away.

This was my first time visiting Tootsies for a shellac manicure. I was excited because I’ve heard about the quality work they do. Their new location is really neat, I love the historical building and the location. The nail tech (sorry, I’ve forgotten her name) was very polite and I enjoyed talking with her.
I was disappointed however. After I had left and was driving to my next appointment of the day; I noticed that the sides of my nails had been completely missed with the second coat of polish and the top coat. It looks very dull and was upsetting I also found that the hand massage was very lackluster.
Perhaps it was a lighting issue? There definitely isnt enough natural light. Or the nail tech just wasn’t in to it? Not sure. I just feel that for the price, these details should be a no-​brainer. Both of my issues are easy to rectify, perhaps with a little manager/​employee training.
