Specialties

Authorized dealer of Prima Soft Dancewear. We carry Prima Soft pointe shoes, ballet and jazz shoes, leotards, tights, and accessories, as well as other various dancewear. Prima Soft pointe shoes are created with the «Perfect Placement Toe Box», which allows dancers better balance and placement en pointe.

History

Established in 2013.

When my daughter first went on pointe in 2009, I was determined to find her the perfect shoe. After doing some research, I believed I had found that shoe in Prima Soft– unfortunately, it wasn’t sold anywhere nearby.

After her first year on pointe, and many bad pointe shoes, we decided to visit Jenkintown, PA, the home of Prima Soft. Marlena Juniman, the creator of Prima Soft, fit my daughter herself. We took another couple of trips up in the years that followed, as my daughter’s feet– and therefore pointe shoe needs– changed.

Finally, Marlena suggested that I myself become certified in fitting Prima Soft shoes, and so in June 2013, we made a final trip up to Jenkintown, and Marlena taught me everything I needed to know to correctly fit pointe shoes, and in August of that same year, I opened Main Pointe Dancewear.

Meet the Business Owner

Leah D.

Business Owner

I have a B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science, and work part-time as an LPN. I understand the health and foot issues that can come about from poorly-fitted shoes, which is why I choose to carry Prima Soft. Correctly-fitted pointe shoes should not cause bunions or blisters, or lead to chronic injuries which can plague dancers for the rest of their lives.

Marlena Juniman created Prima Soft shoes especially for this reason– after years of dancing in shoes that did not fit her, she wanted to create a shoe that wouldn’t cause problems for the dancer later in life.

She insists that any retailers go through a private training session with her in order to learn how to properly fit the shoes, and they must carry a sufficiently wide stock of sizes and styles to ensure that every dancer can be properly fit. I only carry Prima Soft shoes as they are superior to other shoes, and I can focus on giving your dancer the right shoes for their foot.
