The Shop on Broadway

I was on my way to check the selection at Dirty Laundry in Burlingame, but got sidetracked by this little shop. Mostly men’s clothes with a small sampling for ladies, kids and men’s shoes. I was the only customer in the store and expected to be descended upon by the salespeople, but wasn’t. Nice. I prefer not being bugged.
Edward was the salesperson that eventually assisted me. This dude could talk up a storm about men’s clothes or business operations, all without sounding effeminate. His spiel about the sister store — The Record Shop in San Jose – has me sold and I’ll make a stop there next I’m able. What worked here, was Edward didn’t bug me until I requested assistance; he answered questions very thoroughly; and dude had enthusiasm for what he’s selling although he seemed to get carried away showing me how much the khaki colors matched. Um, that’s nice, I got it the first time.
I intended this to be a quick store peek, but end result was $ 300 charged to my credit card in 55 DSL and Report clothing. More than I wanted to spend since I’m not going to just wear them once and return them like some delinquent kids did in their college days. You can’t prove it, so don’t think I’m talking about myself.
Did I mention it’s a small shop? First time I used a dressing room with a working toilet. Even after a year in operation, The Shop hasn’t yet installed a proper dressing room. So the bathroom IS the dressing room. If you are a multi-​tasker, then I guess this is a good thing, but you still have to step outside to view your cool threads in a mirror. How frickin inconvenient is that? Very embarrassing when another customer came in to use the john while I was changing. Okay, that didn’t really happen.
Store policy is exchange/​store credit within 7 days. I’m happy with my non-​metro purchases.

The Shop On Broadway and has been consolidated with the San Jose store. The Burlingame shop has closed permanently.
