I’m so confused about the bad reviews for the front staff there because they were super nice to me every time I went to see Dr. Stone. I was going there for a broken bone in my foot… And I was pleased how nice and helpful they all were. Included Dr. Stone, who is not only an awesome doctor but super nice!

Dr. Stone is an amazing Doctor. He took care of my in grown toe nail like no other. I was super nervous to go but he really made it painless and easy. He just seems like a cool guy too which makes you comfortable. I would recommend him to anyone with an in grown toe nail which hurts worse itself than getting it fixed.

Went there to treat a wart on the toe. Had been to another doctor who just coudlnt get rid of it. He helped me get rid of it in two appointments.

I went in for a sore toe and fungus on a nail. the doctor said, that isnt’ a fungus it just dead skin (I have had the fungus for a while) I told the doctor I broke little toe some years ago. The doctor said, How do you know you broke it? I told him I had an xray at UCAL med center. I broke the other toe when I put my crutch on it. The doctor started to say. .How do you know… I told him I had an xray. I told him I had a neuroma on top of my foot which made my foot numb when I wore strappy shoes,. I had gone to a podiatrist in the south when I was doing a play and couldn’t walk on stage and he gave me a special shoe. The Doctor said, a nueroma is only on the bottom of a foot that would n’t have fixed it. Why did he give you a shoe? — To relieve the pain I said. The doctor then pulled out the model of a foot He said, We call the foot Fred. I said jokingly, Not Freidalynn? He said, No we’re sexist (he was not joking). He finished with me quickly as I was not proving to be fodder for his knife since he does surgeries. I left wondering what the appointment was all about? He certainly didn’t offer any guidance to fix my complaints or foot
BTW A neuroma can appear anywhere on your body including the feet. Top or bottom. If it appears on the bottom of the foot it is called a Morton’s neuroma. Doesn’t this doctor know the difference.
Do you think I would return to this doctor? Never. He says yellow when I would say blue or purple when I would say blue. He was the most argumentative Doctor I have ever encountered. He sees me for ten minutes and knows all about (or doesn’t) feet I have known about my entire life?
I urge to avoid this doctor at all costs, unless your name is Fred.

I’m a bit suprised to see the poor reviews about the staff. I have come here just shy of 10 times. My first visit was for plantar fasciitis so my Dr recommended Dr Stone. I didn’t have to wait long, the staff was helpful, and Dr Stone seemed really nice. I got a custom insole made and came back a few weeks later to pick it up and see how my feet were doing.
After my first visit, I really didn’t need to go back for awhile. The custom insoles were working great, but my foot was in pain for a couple weeks so thought I should pay him another visit. Well I explained my situation and he thought I should take X-​rays. Well why not? Insurance would cover the cost and I know the pain wasnt from the plantar fasciitis. Well he ended up finding a fracture in my foot. I have been walking on it for nearly 2 weeks without realizing it. Because of this I ended up getting put in a soft cast and taken off work. I went back about every 2 weeks to get my foot checked on to make sure it was healing properly and that I wasn’t in any pain. Each visit just as friendly as the first from the whole staff. I felt a bit bad for them since me being off work had a lot of paperwork to fill out for disability and they were happy to help. They were quick about filling it out and even faxed it over for me the same day. Not sure how the other people had such a bad experience, but don’t let them scare you off.

Called hoping to get a last minute appointment the same day. They were able to take me 2 hours after I called. Dr. Stone was personable and professional. They do everything in house – x rays included (if needed) – so no need to schedule with outside doctors to get a simple foot problem sorted. I was out of there within 45 minutes, with a comprehensive evaluation from the doctor plus x-​Rays. Wonderful experience.

This review for STAFF ONLY! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I was about to write a review for the staff and i just saw Unilocal reviews about this office! I wish i have seen it sooner!
Admins are EXTREMELY RUDE and not helpful at all! All doctors admins MUST check it with patients insurance and they were claiming that i should have done it!!!
I just saw my personal doctor yesterday and they were able to see my insurance. These people were saying my insurance was expired 5 months ago! Come on!
They are so rude that they didnt even helped me at all!
DR STONE: CHANGE YOUR ADMINS! CHECK Unilocal REVIEWS! YOU’ll LOOSE CUSTOMERS IF YOU DONT TELL YOUR ADMINS HOW TO BEHAVE.

I have been seeing Dr. Stone for the occasional ingrown toenail for the past 15 years. The first time I saw him, my pediatrician’s unsuccessful attempt to remove the ingrown toenail left me pretty traumatized. For those of you who know, removing an infected ingrown toenail without a nerve block is extremely painful!
After that terrible experience, I was understandably apprehensive about entrusting my already red, swollen foot to another doctor. Dr. Stone had me fixed up in 2 minutes.
I always put off going as long as I can but in the end, I always wish I had saved myself the pain and gone to see him before things get really bad.

This review is for the office staff only because I never had the chance to see Dr. stone. I called to make an appointment for my nephew and the female staff was very rude and unprofessional. She put me on hold a couple times and then finally came back only to say her computer’s down. She said she would call back but never did. How is one supposed to see Dr. Stone if he hires incompetent and rude front desk help! Wow, leave the scheduling to a person who obviously hates her job= no business!

Doctor is very nice, personal, calm with a happy demeanor. You instantly feel comfortable upon meeting him. He has great knowledge and can help resolve your problems with foot pain and all other conditions related to the foot. Highly recommend this doctor!

Visited here recently with my young daughter. Very friendly staff and Dr. Stone was super nice, helpful, and friendly. Highly recommend!

outstanding doctor & staff!!!

I first came to Dr. Stone the day after New Year’s to have an ingrown toenail fixed and a couple months after I decided to go through with a matrixectomy on both big toes. The procedure is pretty straight forward and since I had to do each foot separately, the second time I came in, he was all set up and ready to go and had me in and out of his office as soon as the procedure was done.
Richard Stone is a true professional in every sense of the word. He lives up to his nickname, «Dr. Painless» to a tee. I’ve seen it first hand as he tried to make sure I had no discomfort whatsoever before starting a procedure. He’s friendly, charismatic and doesn’t mind answering each one of your questions. Since I don’t have insurance and was a repeat patient, he was willing to work with me on the price and I highly value the love for his craft, his professionalism and his understanding.
He’s an honest gentleman and his assistant Alex is really nice to talk to as well. I wish I could give them six stars for all they’ve done for me.

I had deferred removing a Morton’s neuroma for over 10 years as I did not want to have a lengthy «down’ period from my work and active lifestyle.
I finally decided to end my annoying foot pain and had Dr. Stone surgically remove it in January 2012. I never had to take any pain medicine, with the exception of an occassional Ibuprofen. NO PAIN post op, minimal swelling and very small scar.
I returned to work a month earlier than projected and after a 2 week «down» period I was back to non-​impact exercises. I wish I had the neuroma removed 10 years earlier!

Great doctor, great office, great staff. When was the last time you showed up for an appointment and were immediately seated for care? Highly recommended!!!

Dr. Stone (Dr. Painless is the perfect nickname for him) performed 2 bunion surgeries for me and both procedures were amazingly pain free and effective. He has such a wonderful «bedside manner» that I wasn’t at all scared of being put under and having real surgery. He was very, very clear about the aftercare and told me if I followed the instructions to the letter I would get a good result. His instructions were perfect because I had no pain, no problems and a two great bunion-​free feet. I am now wearing cute shoes again! From time to time I have had to see Dr. Stone for plantar fasciitis and other typical foot problems and each time he is clear about the diagnosis, spells out the options and is very low key and collaborative. The office staff is great – a big shout out to Kim – and I never have to wait to see the doc. I recommend Dr. Stone – he is really great.

I would strongly recommend anyone with foot problems to go to Dr. Stone’s office. I have been dealing with my metatarsal foot problem for the last eight months. Visited other doctor that only gave me a shot of cortisone which didn’t correct my problem. One day I woke up with a swollen achilles tendon, I decided to look for a «good» doctor. Thanks to Unilocal,I found Dr. Stone.
The office assistants are great and friendly. You can get an appointment EASILY without waiting for few weeks for. Dr. Stone was thorough in my diagnosis and suggested that I get orthotics. Now I can feel that I am recovering: D Thank you very much, Dr. Stone!

Dr. Stone is fabulous and the office people are great too. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for this type of care.

I’ve had an ingrown toenail from many reasons…
First year football being stepped on by a 300lb Manbear.
Cutting the nail and snagging it to the outside and attempting to rip it off. (I know very dumb).
Snug running shoes…
Mostly from the personal attempts to fixing my own toes. Constantly I would cut my toenails and trying to rip out the sides so it will not grow more. However, because my nail bled over after every attempt, it kept ripping and causing sharp points to form. There’s been times where I have been semi-​successful but for 8 years I have been trying to fix it on my own.
QUICK STORY:
I was scared
I couldn’t handle the pain no mo
I called to make an appointment (thanks to insurance website)
Within a week I got in for a ‘consultation’
Same day I went in, Dr. Stone noticed my problem and asked ‘Did you want to do the procedure right now?‘
My face: O. O «WHAAAAAA… ok.»
I still scared.
Dr. Stone mentioned that his name was Dr. Painless and informed me of the procedure of the Matrixectomy (Removal of the nail bed).
First gave me a shot (The shot did not hurt at all… I think getting a shot of Novocaine hurt more). 2 shots one to each side and I FELT NOTHING… 5 mins later he comes back and proceeds to cut the nail, pull the nail, and put the chemical to kill off the root. Covers it up, and lets me on my way. I took a look at my nail and it looked like there was a toothpick sized splinter sticking out of the side of a curved nail. It was around 8mmwide and 27mmlong… (Almost ½ the size of my thumbnail). The entire procedure was less than 15minutes and I felt nothing. He gave me a piece of paper on what to do after. He told me to expect pain after the medicine wears off… the entire day I did not feel anything at all.
1 week later, go back to see how its doing. Was good, 1 more week till it closes up.
2^nd week, I was running (or attempting to since i’m out of shape)
3^rd week, NO MORE PAIN KICKING THE DOOR CLOSED
I’m so grateful for such Dr. Stone (AKA Dr. Painless) I really did not feel anything and the staff was very nice. I’m so happy… its like rediscovering chocolate/​candy all over again… =3
I would definitely go back and highly recommend Dr. Stone.

Dr Stone Is the BEST!~ I meet Dr Stone 30 years ago for orthodic inserts, he made a very good impression way back then plus he took very good care of my mom., I went back to him with my 30 year old inserts (thats patient loyalty) and asked why my feet hurt. Well I needed a bunion removed.
He is articulate and a perfectionest!
Plus i had ZERO pain after surgery
He even called me at home while I was recovering.
