This practice was established as an independent traditional medical practice. Our philosophy is in keeping with the current trend of collaborative clinical decision making between patient and physician.

Business Owner

Dr Carney is a native Californian who attended college in his home state and began his medical studies at Hahnemann University (now Drexel University) school of medicine. He did his internship in San Francisco and subsequently served in the Air Force as a General Medical Officer and subsequently as a Flight Surgeon. He returned to San Francisco to complete his residency in Internal Medicine.

After residency he worked for a medical group and in 2000 established his private practice in San Mateo. His Internal Medicine practice is a primary care practice specializing in preventative care, health screening and diagnostic evaluations. He believes in a collaborative approach to medical care, involving the patient in decision making. He works closely with local specialists and the hospital team following his patients.

Dr. Carney has three children in their 20s and teens and lives on the SF peninsula.
