Can’t believe I’ve never noticed this place before. Came by here around 9pm to have a drink with a friend. This brewery is a bar & restaurant placed in a huge brick warehouse. Lots of available seating with very friendly hosts and waiters. The waiters looked really happy to serve us and make small talk, which is of course the best kind of service you can provide. This was our first time here, so we thought we’d just go with the samplers. It seemed like everyone else here was dressed nicely with buttoned shirts and dress pants. I, unfortunately enough, was underdressed, but nonetheless, this place provided a comfortable and and relaxing atmosphere. We ordered a beer sampler and a dinner starter sampler. I can’t say much about the beer flight since I’m not too familiar with the tastes and flavors of beers. The micro-beers served in 4-ounce glasses tasted great to me, but my least favorite were the Raging Rhino Red and the Belgian Dubbel. The starter sampler was beyond expectations. It was a huge plate filled with a small rack of ribs, bite size chicken wings, fried calamari, and fried onion rings. Onion rings were delectable and the rib meat was tender and tore off smoothly. I’m not sure what the white sauce was(maybe it’s a mix of sour cream or ranch?), but that dipping sauce went really well with the platter. I’ll definitely come back here more often.

It’s been a while since I’ve been here but Steelhead is only 4.4 miles south of SFO International airport so it’s a super great place to chill before a flight … Oh hey they have a bad ass pool room with sexy long tables — yep long tables are sexy! Hey let’s talk about the main reason people come here — THEBEER! I’m always satisfied with their selection– always a few IPAs on tap and who cares really they got a bad ass pool room — hey the food is good too … 5 stars !!

Great variety of beers available. Service was fast and food as good. Homemade BBQ and hot sauces were good. We asked our server for extra pickles and he brought us a plate full. That was very nice and appreciated with a pickle loving toddler. Ordered the BLT-A and it was delish. Bread was toasted perfectly and bacon crispy. Side was sweet potato fries. Wish there was a sauce with them too. Hubby ordered the Philly Cheesesteak. It was on sourdough which was weird at first but overall the meat was perfect.

I wish I would have checked Unilocal before coming! Service was extremely slow and food was not great. I ordered a turkey burger with fries. The turkey burger said it came on a sourdough bun but the bun didn’t taste like sour dough to me. The fries were a weird texture and not the hottest and I presume(or at least hope) not the freshest. The beer was ok. I’d drink it again but it probably wouldn’t be my first pick. Overall, it was dinner but nothing special.

Nice brew pub. More tailored to the average drinking man. Good beer but nothing to write home about. The hey do have a large back room with pool tables and a few tvs playing collage football. I had the Bombay bomber ipa and it was a good beer. I ordered dl some fries and they came out freakishly fast.

Horrible service, MOLD on cheesecake, incorrect charges, and not one apology. If any of the above is to your liking then head on over here. 1 star for good beer.

Haven’t been here in years. Now I remember why. The Fish & chips is absolutely awful. Seriously, the worst I’ve ever had. Dry, small, and freezer-burned. My Mediterranean salad was just ok, nothing special. The beer is pedestrian at best, but I had no problem drinking it. The only reason for my 2 star(rather than one star) was the adequate but not awesome service.

I have been going here for years. Very consistent and the cask condition IPA is excellent! But the Staff makes this place special.

I can only speak about the food and service since I, essentially, do not drink alcohol. Service: Annette was fun, lively, and very attentive to our needs. If you want a server that treats you more like a friend, she’ll be great for you. If you want some«stuffed shirt», pass. Food: Overall, the food was fine. The appetizers(sampler plate, steam clams) were delicious. The turkey chili had a welcoming and surprising amount of heat. The flank steak was cooked as requested but the meat was a bit bland. The steam veggies that accompanied it were a nice touch. The Chinese Chicken Salad was a disappointment, though. Dessert wise, the Lemon Drop Cheesecake and Brownie Sundae were good!

Wanted to get my Father-In-Law out of the house and experience some great local brews. Thought this place would fit the bill the day after Thanksgiving. Nailed it! Sat at the bar and met the bartender, Keva, and she was super nice and gave us the rundown on the beer and food offerings. I ended up starting with the Double Play IPA and it was good and hoppy. Then I ended up ordering a side salad and a cup of clam chowder(the chowder was thinner than I usually care for but, was still tasty.) I paired their Bombay Bomber APA with the soup and salad and it worked well. The place is quite large and they have an Adults-only Billiards tables are available suiting 6, 10, and 12 people depending on table. They have six regulation sized tables rented out by the hour.(I’ll have to put them on my short list next time in the bay area to try out some pool.) I’d definately come back for food, drinks, and fun when i’m back in the Bay.

JOHNNYTHEBARTENDERISAWESOME!!! He took care of my little party tonight, and was endlessly funny, charming, and informative. He made my little post-dinner nightcap an event to remember! As far as the beers, Steelhead makes their own, and the ones I tried were incredibly delicious and flavorful. I had a single IPA, as well as a double IPA. Both were delicious!(I also got an order of onion rings to snack on, and they were great as well. Big thick rings of onion, and the skin stayed on them as I devoured them, the mark of a loyal and well-bred onion ring. Not greasy at all, and great flavor. I will have them again, in this world or the next!

Had been here a while back for a family celebration and decided to go here with some friends a few Saturday’s ago. Upon entering the hostesses glanced at us and then glanced away. Once they finally glanced back they asked how many were in our party, 3, and seated us at a booth in the back. The waitress who served us was very unpleasant upon first greeting us. Maybe she thought we were underage, maybe she was having a bad day, at any rate we all noticed it. On the flip side, the food here is great! And the beer here is good.

Sometimes you go to places to enjoy the company and not the food. Steelhead Brewing Company is one of those places. My friends and I were at a Japanese cultural festival in Millbrae, and were seeking a place to seek refuge to(away from the blazing sun) that was dog-friendly and didn’t require a long wait. My gf recommended Steelhead so Steelhead is where we headed. Extra points for easy parking since they have their own private lot. We were easily able to snag outdoor seating on a Saturday noon. Steelhead is like BJ’s meets Jillian’s(large billards room in the back). The menu is similar to an American chain restaurant: nachos, wings, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, ribs, pasta, and pizza. Everything was reasonably cheap but you pay for what you get: mediocrity. This place seems to thrive off mediocrity. To each and their own but their 5 star reviews are mystifying to me. We shared The Sampler: Steelhead wings, BBQ ribs, calamari, onion rings($ 16.95): which was decent. The wings and ribs were tender, and the calamari and onion rings were crunchy. I appreciated that nothing on the platter was assaulted with salt. The accompanying sauces: ranch, marinara, and hot sauce(?) were flavorless. For my main, I ordered the Chinese Chicken Salad w/glazed walnuts, mandarin oranges, bean sprouts, crispy noodles, soy-ginger vinaigrette dressing(small — $ 8.95): . You get a rather large portion for the price but the salad was meh. The chicken was oddly marinated in indian spices and slaughtered twice: once at the farm and another on the grill. It was hella dry! The lettuce was drenched in the dressing and syrup from the canned mandarin oranges(there were a pool of liquid at the bottom of the bowl). I was looking forward to the glazed walnuts which were just plain walnuts. BOO! We ordered a non-salted burger patty($ 5) for our dogs to share and it was very salty because the seasoning from the grill transferred to the patty. I ended up just picking from the insides of the patty to feed Tater Tot. Apparently, Steelhead’s beer is «award winning». I had a glass of the Broadway Blonde(cream ale) and it was ok. I’m a beer noob but I’ve had better beer… even at BJ’s. Service was slow and our sever was a little rough around the edges but like I said, we were there for the company so I didn’t care. I mean when your friend talks about his sexcapades with his 55 year-old cougar, mediocre food and drinks take a back seat. But when he started talking about how he holds her legs above his head… I just could NOT: SHOTSSTAT!!!

Came by to try their sampler on a slow Sunday afternoon, I was a bit surprised to see a Steelhead Brewery in Burlingame, considering their Irvine location closed a while back and their only other location is in Oregon. Large spacious open restaurant in an older building in downtown Burlingame. I went straight for the bar and was greeted by a really friendly bartender who seemed to have a bunch of regulars visiting. Out of the eight beers I tried from the $ 12 sampler, I liked the Double IPA and the Oatmeal stout the most. They’re supposed to be known for their Red Ale but I found it a bit lacking in flavor and flat. The Double IPA was very smooth and not overly hopped and the Oatmeal Stout was very delicious. However, overall the beers could use some more carbonation and I felt some of them were a bit on the flatter side, which isn’t surprising for smaller brewing ops. Didn’t try the food, seemed like the typical brewpub food.

My son and I made a random train trip to Burlingame to just do something spontaneous. We wanted to stroll a little, eat and head home. We strolled, shopped and ended up here to eat. I loved that we picked this place. The décor was so cool… and I was thrilled to sit in these over sized ottoman chairs at our own private 2 person table. My son thought it was cool too. The service was helpful and quick. I ordered a pint of blonde and he ordered a bottle of their own root beer and then they brought us some bread to share. I ordered a half size of nachos with chicken as my meal(off the appetizer menu) and my son ordered the pepper bacon hamburger. He scarfed his down and said it was super delicious. He got fries with his burger, but not enough to share at all, which was disappointing to me. My nachos were absolutely delicious and my ½ order was more than enough, as I couldn’t even finish them. Overall we had a great experience at this place. I loved the feel of the place and the staff was very attentive and friendly.

Food was Ok but service was abysmal. We were seated next to a group of 17, so we had to ask for bread and waited a long time to be served Ribs had a good sauce but were obviously parboiled before getting brushed with sauce and baked. No smoky flavor at all. Mashed potatoes were the best item on my plate. The cole slaw was bitter and did not have any other flavor. We came here because DH wanted to watch the Warriors play-off game and it’s close to our house. I’ve had better meals here a while back, so tonight might not be representative of their current quality.

This place confuses me. With the diner-like tables, hotel couches, wooden ceiling beams, brick walls, and giant palm tree in the middle of the whole place… there is no theme or atmosphere here. It looks like someone did not put much thought into designing Steelhead. Plus the music is upbeat, but it sounds like someone put ALL of Pandora on shuffle. Not a welcoming vibe. The employees all seem lifeless, and the bartender that was serving me and my friend acted like a neurotic event planner with his head chopped off. The worst customer service out of any brewery I have been to. The beer is decent and there are about eight beers on tap… not many. I sampled a few, but that bartender kept pushing me and my friend to order ASAP, which made us feel super uncomfortable. I settled for the Bombay Bomber APA. We selected a table among the open space instead of sitting at the bar. The biggest surprise was the game room(with billards) in the back of the brewery where the restrooms are. How cool! Maybe next time if I actually decide to come back here, I’ll make a beeline for that room. Seems like they also have private events here. Anyways, I really don’t like this place. Then again I’m only speaking from the experience of having one beer(and none of the food) but first impressions count!

Came here with a big group for a private party in the back pool hall. This is a neat little area in Burlingame. Wish we’d gotten to sit out on their patio! Bar staff were indeed very cool folks. Great sense of humor! I tried various pizzas here as well as a veggie fettuccine dish that was delightfully creamy and cheesy. I recommend it!

You will love the food is delicious!!!

A real solid choice. It’s a very cool location and design; an old brick firehouse with a very high ceiling and massive wood roof trusses. Oh, and a palm tree in the center of the dining room. We all had a beer for $ 5 each — a Hairy Weasel Hefeweizen, a Bombay Bomber IPA, and a Raging Rhino Red for me. The Red was very good– great taste and just a teense of hoppiness. I could drink that on a regular basis. Dinner # 1 was a Steelhead Burger for $ 10.95, described as a «1÷3 pound of choice ground beef with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles and mayonnaise on a whole wheat bun». Except it was served w/o the mayo. Dinner # 2 was a Fajita Steak Salad for $ 17.95, described as a «Crisp tortilla shell filled with lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, red and green peppers, black beans and grilled steak tossed in our housemade jalapeño dressing». My dinner was a Southwestern BBQ Chicken Salad for $ 14.95, described as «Barbecue chicken breast with chopped romaine, bell pepper, red onion, jicima, roasted corn and black bean relish and our spicy jalapeño ranch dressing». My son and I both were surprised that the spicy jalapeño dressing was very lame. It had no zippiness and tasted like plain old ranch dressing. Overall my salad was very good despite the lame dressing. Lots of chicken, lots of veggies, good corn-bean relish, ice cold fresh romaine, all in a good sized portion. The overall atmosphere is on the loud side. There were half a dozen TV’s showing ball games. The place was packed and I saw a lot of families with small kids. It was a totally solid«A-OK» and that ain’t bad at all.
