I am very loyal to Trish. She makes me look beautiful. I have gray hair that is dyed blond all over with low lights and highlights added in. She lets me live in the illusion that I don’t have gray hair anymore – as it looks so natural. I have people tell me that they love my hair color. And my husband always says that he really loves the way Trish does my hair; he tells me that every single time I come back from the salon. And I do look awesome – with gigantic big THANK YOUS to Trish. If you are looking for good and excellent as well as awesome and amazing hair, then I strongly urge you to try Trish, because I firmly believe you will be no less than thrilled with the results. She is that good. Really truly.

I met Hourig for the first time today and I am so happy with my cut. I have short, frizzy hair and she was able to turn it into a really chic style. Thank you Hourig! Please move to Sydney so you can cut it all the time for me!

Lyndlee is a remarkable stylist. She is creative, but always honors what you want done if you have any specific style you want. She does not cut more hair off than requested! Very important for those of us who have had negative experiences with leaving 2 inches shorted than requested. She is great with any length hair, layering is her specialty especially with long hair!!!

After moving to the Bay Area in 2011, I spent years looking for a great stylist. A friend suggested Davina and my search is over. She’s fantastic, her rates are reasonable and I do not have to book appointments super far out. Even better she does an amazing job with my daughter’s curly hair. I don’t trust my hair to anyone else.

After moving to the Bay Area, i was looking for a stylist who does a dry haircut. Hourig’s same came up on multiple review sites, so I went to go visit her at Renda Za’arour Salon. Hourig took the time to really understand what i was looking for and delivered exactly the cut that I wanted.
It’s been more than three years now, and I can’t imagine going anywhere else. When I’m feeling stuck in a hair rut, Hourig always helps come up with something a bit different. I trust her completely, and am always glad I when I go with her recommendations. The salon itself is great too (convenient, clean, stylish), but I’d honestly follow Hourig to whatever salon she went to. She’s fantastic!

Hourig is the best; I’ve been seeing her for almost 10 years, even while I was living in LA I still made sure to make an appointment when I was back in town. I have a more complicated style – super dark lowlights and platinum highlights – but she’s always been meticulous and precise about the color and making it work on me. She’s always flexible with scheduling, open to new ideas, and fast (I once went to another stylist who took 7 hours to achieve the same result – Hourig does it in less than 2) Not to mention, she’s just a great stylist; I get compliments all the time on my cut, and she pays a ton of attention to how it’ll grow out and look without the full style treatment for when I get lazy. Really, I can’t recommend her enough if you’re looking for something edgier and complex or just a really well done and flattering cut

I visited Trish again and wow! My color is has the Trish’s pizazz! My hair looks fabulous every time, thank you Trish! I highly recommend you see her, you won’t be disappointed. I travel extensively in the EU, and hairstylists always ask me who does my hair, Trish is world renowned!

To summarize and get right to the point, whether you’re a gal or a guy, if you’ve been searching for the perfect hair stylist who is highly-​skilled, extremely talented, truly sweet, a joy to work with, pays attention to what you want, AND leaves ego out of the picture – look no more as you’ll find it all and then some in a stylist named Hourig who has a station at Renda Za’aour Salon.
The backstory if you need it is this: Back a few years ago, I did a fairly extensive web search to find out who others thought to be the best hair stylist on the Peninsula. Hourig’s name came up over and over and over and over again by men and women – young and older – all commenting on how great Hourig was at cuts and color on top of how nice she was to work with. Regardless of all the kudos, at that time and since I had been going to another stylist for well over a decade, I was still apprehensive about trying someone new. But the wealth of rave reviews about Hourig propelled me forward in booking an appointment with her (who was at a different salon at that time), and to this day – 4 years later – I am so very grateful I did.
On my first visit, she listened to my likes and dislikes about my hair; made some suggestions for my consideration; worked quickly and with focus; and, to my surprise, did my cut AFTER drying my hair – which is what I’ve been told as being a much more difficult, but more ‘exact’, way to cut (I guess it’s because you get to see how your hair looks as it’s being cut). On top of it all, her easy demeanor and interesting little stories made the time fly.
Since that first visit, Hourig eventually moved to Renda Za’aour Salon (where she is now) and I’ve followed her wherever she has gone and hope to continue following her wherever else the years will take her. In these years of having Hourig as my stylist, she has consistently been on time, flexible with my needs to reschedule, and has ALWAYS given me cuts that I have been 100% satisfied with – mainly because, for whatever reason, the shape of my hair seems to miraculously hold its shape from appointment to appointment even as it gets longer. And for the first time in my life, I actually look forward to my hair appointments.
When I’ve been there early for appointments, I’ve been able to see the outcome of appointments before me and I can honestly attest that she does a great job on both women and men. And since I’ve been going to Hourig, I’ve referred others to her who are now also big fans of her. So I figured I’d put out this review of her to save others from having to go through all the trouble I went through in trying to find the PERFECT hair stylist. Just give Hourig at Renda Za’aour a try and you’ll know that your hunt is over.
Oh! One more thing: On top of Hourig being a great stylist, the salon she’s at, Renda Za’aour Salon, is clean, spacious, classy and really comfortable to be at (and it’s surrounded by parking lots). Also, the salon’s owner, Renda (who is also incredibly nice), is super creative and goes all out in elaborately and tastefully decorating the salon for the holidays and it’s so worth going there just to see her amazing work!

I’ve been wanting to share my experience so here it goes. I came in in 2009 for a trial for my brothers wedding. It went well. Day of the wedding I don’t know what was wrong with the stylist (Russian accent), she was in a different mind set. She had attitude and did such a crappy job that I couldn’t say anything, I just wanted to leave. Paid a lot of money only to beg my friends mom to wash and blow dry my hair with some curls added and saved my life. Now that my other bro is about to get married I’m thinking back to that stressful disappointing disturbing experience. I will never walk into that salon or think twice about trying it again. Everyone had the nerve to say the hairdo was amazing and pretty, even more disturbing.

HOURIG is hands down the BEST stylist! I found her 2 years ago! I have always had the same cut and color to some degree, although I was always in search of something new! I definitely got that with her! You know when you make a hair appointment with an image in mind of what you want… Hourig gives you so much more! I was in search of a style that was fresh and new… and it was! She definitely knows how to use those scissors and her color combinations are amazing! I am in love with my new color! Burgundy and chocolate brown!!! I have received so many compliments on my hair! I love it! She has definitely found her passion and her skills are those that can make you feel brand new as you walk out of the salon! It’s not easy to find someone to completely exceed your expectations and she will! Highly recommended!

I have been seeing Lyndlee for many years now. Why haven’t I written up until now? Don’t ask me. I have been meaning to do a review on Unilocal for some time now but interruptions come up and I realized at my last appointment, YIKES ! I still haven’t written one. It’s not that she doesn’t deserve a HUGE 5 star rating because she does. Without showing any effort on her part she moves through the hair experience with grace, serious listening, good recipes, tips on hair care at home and sends you on your way without any heavy «product lectures.»
It’s like going home when I come to Lyndlee for my haircut. I have highlighted my own hair for years with one MAJOR tragedy last year and she called me from Chicago with tips but no guilt trips.
The salon is so peaceful, nice dressing room, relaxed feeling, Sur la Table is right nextdoor too!

Davina did an amazing job on both my cut and color. She spent so much time making sure every hair on my head was cut exactly how it needed to be. My hair has never looked better. I’m actually looking forward to waking up early tomorrow to style my hair.
I will definitely be going to davina from now on!

Trish is the very best! My stylist was out of the country, and I was desperately needing a change of color so I went here based on the Unilocal reviews. Trish is truly in the elite club of stylists who is up to date with current styles and was very attentive to my needs as a client. In the end, I left with a gorgeous natural ombré look and a chic layered hair cut as I had requested. Very happy to have run into such a sweet stylist! Highly recommended.

I have wild curly hair and would not trust anyone else to cut it but TRISH! She is absolutely fantastic in the way that she cuts my hair. She is always able to find a time for you and is great with communication.
Trish is very thorough with her haircuts and they grow out beautifully. I have just returned from living in Rome and refused to get my haircut there because no one cuts my hair like Trish!

I’ve been going to Kelly M. at Renda Salon for 3 years. I love the environment in the salon and all of the employees. Kelly does a great job at listening to me in what my hopes and aspirations for my hair are at each appointment. I love that she is very realistic and honest with me about what my hair is capable of doing in real life (I have very thin hair).
Kelly is great with cut AND color– not everyone can say that about their stylist. She is also very accommodating if there is something I want changed (usually I just want more cut off). I have to say, that whether I get the same old thing, or get a completely different look, I walk out «a new woman» every time.
Also, I come all the way from Oakland to get my hair done!!!
