History

Established in 2007.

JumpstartMD has grown to be more than a weight loss program. Our wellness program is dedicated to jumpstarting a lifetime of healthy habits and happiness. JumpstartMD’s comprehensive, medically supported weight loss program delivers balanced, individualized meal strategies, one-​on-​one nutrition education, optional supplements, exercise guidance and personalized lifestyle coaching. This team of wellness experts successfully guide patients to their weight loss goals in a supportive and compassionate manner.

In 2015 JumpstartMD started offering Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) to compliment it’s weight loss program in providing sustained long-​term health. As people age, their hormone levels decrease. BHRT is a safe and effective way to bring your hormone levels back to normal.

Meet the Business Owner

Sean B.

Business Owner

Sean E. Bourke, M.D. has been CEO of JumpstartMD since June 2009. He is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians, American College of Emergency Physicians and a member of the Redwood City Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Bourke is currently Partner on the California Emergency Physicians team at Sequoia Hospital. His previous roles include Medical Director at David Grant Medical Center Department of Emergency Medicine for the Travis Air Force Base in California as well as Assistant Research Director at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium Residency for Emergency Medicine at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.

A native Californian, Dr. Bourke received his B.A. Degree in History from Yale University followed by graduate work at the University of Southern California School of Medicine where he received his Doctorate. Postgraduate training included three years at Stanford University’s Department of Emergency Medicine.
