Broadway Sitters LLC is an on-​call child care service connecting Peninsula families with qualified sitters. Finding a trustworthy and reliable sitter can be a challenge for families, but Broadway Sitters is making that easier!

History

Established in 2011.

During the early parenting years, Greg and I realized we hadn’t carved out much time for us as a couple. Planning a date night felt like a chore; we couldn’t just mark the calendar and say, «Let’s go out tomorrow night. Our number one issue was finding a reliable sitter.

As a Burlingame Mothers Club member for nearly 10 years, I would often see requests on the email forum from parents looking for a trustworthy sitter. If you needed a sitter tomorrow, how would you find one on such short notice? Even if you were lucky enough to find one, would you have the time to do a background check, in addition to calling their references?

I have been that parent scrambling to find a reliable sitter. I understand the importance of having a trustworthy caregiver for your children. My own personal experience inspired me to start Broadway Sitters.

My name is Mina Elbouihich Cima and I have been living in Burlingame for the last 19 years, along with my husband Greg. We are the parents to two terrific girls, 11 and 9.

I have a Business Management degree from Ecole Superieure de Technologie d’Agadir, Morocco and Child Development certificate from College of San Mateo. I have always enjoyed being around children and have worked as both a preschool teacher and a caregiver, I have been a stay at home mom for the past 10 years while teaching French part time. I’ve enjoyed these years of being a wife and mother.

Beside taking care of our children, I like to cook Moroccan cuisine, home decorating, gardening, camping, hiking, running, sun bathing at the beach and spending time with friends and family

I had 2 good experiences with Broadway Sitters and one that was less perfect. All 3 times, I had different sitters, and all were last minute bookings. I really appreciate that they can accommodate such short notice bookings.
The not great experience was that one sitter was nearly 30 minutes late coming back with my son and had not given me notice. I emailed the owner later to inform her of the incident and was surprised that she trivialized my concern. Being on time is hugely important with a sitter, as is maintaining communication and trust.
I would use the service again but request a different sitter.

Called on a short notice when my regular sitter couldn’t make it. Mina was very pleasant, professional and efficient. The babysitter (Jennifer) was prompt and nice, kids had a good time. She even cleaned the kitchen! Strongly recommend.

I started using Broadway Sitters when I needed last minute childcare. Mina has been very helpful in finding someone to babysit my 4 year old son, especially with short notice. She emails a profile of the sitter and you can set up a time to meet the sitter first if you’d like. We had one problem with a sitter she employed and she immediately responded to my concerns. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this babysitter service to other parents.

Have been so pleased with our experience with Broadway Sitters. It was great way for us as new parents to experience our first nights out and feel safe with who our daughter was with! Mina provided good information and we felt comfortable from the start. Our sitter, Candace, has always been prompt and we felt our daughter was in good hands. The last minute availability is great as well! Thanks for giving new parents peace of mind!

So happy that a service like Broadway Sitters does exist! Our babysitter canceled last minute and Mina went the extra mile and did watch our daughter herself. Between contacting her and us leaving the house were 2.5 hours and we even live in the Eastbay.

Found me a great sitter to watch my two active children all day when my regular childcare fell through! The sitter who came was very professional and kept the kids busy and having fun. My son is now asking when she is returning. Will definitely be using this service again.

When the owner of broadway sitters was not able to find anyone to take care of our mildly sick daughter (a very very last minute request as the daycare sent her back), she drove down to cupertino to help us herself. That in my opinion is professionalism at its best. Her service is such a huge help to working couples who need baby sitting help at the very last minute. We are very happy to have found broadway sitters and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a similar service.

Very happy to have found Broadway Sitters. My 9 year old was sick at home with an ear infection and both my wife and I could not take the whole day off from work so we called Broadway Sitters and they were able to find us a baby sitter who could come home and watch my daughter at the last minute. This was such a great relief since without that not sure how we would have managed. The sitter was very professional and arrived on time. Very happy with the service and ability to have this in case of emergencies.
