As former classroom teachers we understand the value that tutoring can provide; we are committed to student success through understanding students learning styles, creating focused learning plans for each student we serve, and monitoring student progress to ensure success. We challenge all students to recognize their own potential, to find purpose in the pursuit of knowledge, and to discover an enduring passion for learning.

History

Established in 2002.

Atlas Academy came to be because we care deeply about the success of each and every student. We are dedicated to providing students of all ages with the ability and confidence to achieve their full potential of academic excellence, and we believe that the most effective way to do this is through the one-​on-​one, focused support that tutoring provides.

At Atlas Academy, we are part of a broad movement in modern education that puts the learner at the center of his or her own education. Over the course of the last ten years, Atlas has been a part of the progress and innovation that has helped students attain a higher level of proficiency in all subjects.

Meet the Business Owner

Lisa and Teresa J.

Business Owner

The two owners of Atlas Academy, Lisa and Teresa, collectively have over 24 years of classroom teaching and tutoring experience. The two met nine years ago as colleagues at East Palo Alto Charter School, a California Distinguished school, helping under-​privileged children achieve some of the highest test scores in the state. Their teaching experience has brought them the ability to differentiate material to meet the needs of each and every student and to spark within them a true desire to learn. They are teaching experts and leaders in their field. Lisa and Teresa are dedicated to ensuring that each individual student achieves their full potential.
