They were the best I’ve ever had… Dr. Roland & staff are truly caring & helpful… Most always did they fit me in for a last minute emergency for same day appointment… I’ve relocated and miss their professionalism & knowledge. thanks for all your help to Dr. Roland & staff…

Updated review from a previous one… I cannot even begin to warn you about this practice, if it can even be called that. My husband has the unfortunate luck of having this doctor assigned to him through United Healthcare. He has been his doctor for two years and has still yet to meet the man.
Of course, no one in the doctor’s office was available over the holiday. They were all on vacation. Luckily, my husband saw an awesome doctor — Dr. MArtin who found out that he has pneumonia! Chest xrays confirmed it. She immediately sent him for a CT scan and told him to see Dr. Roland immediately once he got back from vacation, which was today.
My husband went and got the CT scan, and went to Dr. Roland’s office. They informed him that they could not take him until NEXT TUESDAY!!! HE’S GOT PNEUMONIA!!! Who does crap like this??? Do not go to this practice! They have no care for their patients at all!!! My husband told them that he has to see the dr. now! They gave him an appointment for later in the week. He’s fuming right now. This man cannot even gather the strength to put on socks and they cannot bother to see him… I would give them negative stars if Unilocal would let me!

Yikes. No appointments available for anyone at their facility for 2 months out. Pretty much defeats the need to have them as your Dr.

This office has certainly been challenged with not so stellar front desk service. I think this is where most of the pain point is with getting in to see someone. While I too have had challenges, the quality of doctors & nurses is excellent. front desk has recently been better but hopefully they continue to monitor.

Switching providers asap. Rude staff and ridiculous amount of time for an appointment and I asked why, they said the doctors/​nurse practioners are only in the office part time, so basically they will be there when they want and convenient for them rather then when they need to care for the patients. Its not a place I would feel comfortable placing my familys care under, especially if they are elected primary care providers. No thanks!

Dr. Rolaand, along with his fellow doctors and nurse practitioners are the best in the medical field. I am very critical and I can tell you that Dr. Roland is ONE of a kind. He TRULY cares, as does his staff.
I do not know why his office has received 1 star on a few occasions. Every single time I have called the office for either a medication refill or an appointment, I have ALWAYS received a call – if not from Dr. Roland, then another physician. If ever I was in medical crisis, the problem was resolved almost immediately. If Dr. Roland knew I was in crisis he would call me repetitively after hours until he got ahold of me.
Also, I have always been able to get an appointment within a timely manner, usually with a VERY competent nurse practitioner the very same day. I do not understand how patients have had negative experiences…
And finally, I have to thank Dr. Roland and his staff for literally saving my mom’s life. My mom had a routine check-​up and Dr. R. Discovered that she was bleeding internally and had lost 65% of her entire blood volume and rushed her to the ER. Utmost respect and gratitude.
Trust me when I say, Dr. Roland is a rare find and he is very selfless!!!’

I think Dr. Roland is OK, but they have taken on too many patients, so it is amost impossible to get an appointment within a resaonable amount of time. Futhermore, they have the worst and dumbest front office staff. We changed doctors soon after going there.

I couldn’t agree more with David C – Dr. Roland is the REAL DEAL! Not only is he a very knowledgeable doctor, he is also a kind human being who genuinely cares for other people.
Dr. Roland spends a great deal of time with his patients, always explains his diagnosis & treatment options in detail and answers any questions you may have. He also takes the time to return phone calls and reply to emails. His clinic in Burlingame uses the SutterHealth online system, which makes it easy to view diagnosis, prescriptions and test results without having to keep paper copies.
The only complaint I have is that it takes weeks to get an appointment with Dr. Roland and can up to an hour to see him when you reach his clinic even with an appointment. But I think is a consequence of the number of patients he sees and the time he spends with each patient.
I would recommend Dr. Roland highly to anyone looking for a primary care physician or family doctor in the Burlingame/​Millbrae/​San Mateo area.

Dirty looks. bad attitudes … rude rude rude…
its a shame that Dr. Roland does not listen to his patients when they say the problem is his front staff… they need to be more professional. and have more class…

I have been a patient of Dr. Roland’s for about 7 years. I read the reviews that people shared about their «customer service» experience. I have experienced the same thing. In fact, I mentioned to my wife that maybe we should find another doctor. So why am I a FAN?
The thing is, there isn’t a doctor like Dr. Roland. He is the REAL deal. I am very picky when it comes to our health care. I don’t want lip service or to be gamed. I have ALWAYS received the best care from Dr. Roland because I know how well read he is on what is really going on in the health care arena. And we all know what is going on in the health care arena!!!
More importantly, I have ALWAYS been able to talk to him and tell him FRANKLY, what was going on with me. He is a doctor that I can TRUST. That was what I was told when we moved to the area and what my previous doctor told me when he referred Dr. Roland.
So when I went into their NEW office today expressing my personal frustration on how their staff did not call me back to confirm my appointment, I was not surprised to hear Dr. Roland say: «I know — we have had some challenges and trying to fix them»
He went on to say that they had moved to a new office and that there were some operational challenges (which he detailed and shared) that they were doing the best to resolve them.
I am not commenting on the other reviews that slammed Dr. Roland’s practice. But I can say, it would have been easy enough for me to have expressed my initial frustration. I am busy and want things my way asap. After all, I am the customer. But I have a friend that keeps reminding me that «Slow is REAL» and when it comes to my health care, I don’t want that rushed and I want quality. And that has always been what I have received from Dr. Roland’s practice — and more importantly, if and when I have had questions, there is a TRUST let’s me know that I can say so, politely and frankly and I know they do what they can to address them.

Looking to make an appointment? You have a better chance locating gold in a corn field… Mr. Roland has clearly lost focus of what matters… the customer
You my friend have lost yet another client. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Steer clear of this practice unless you like agrivation, poor service, and excuses from the Dr’s and staff when something goes wrong.
