History
Established in 2008.
Iris K. spent 29 years working within the public education system. For 14 years she taught students of all ages while providing special education services and supports. In 1997, Iris found herself disabled and, for several months, unable to work. During this time, Iris began working with students with disabilities as they planned with their families and prepared for productive lives following high school graduation. In 2003, upon earning a Master’s degree (MS) in Rehabilitation Services, Iris received certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). In 2007, she received Texas license #60 678 as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and began working as a Special Education Counselor. After moving her family in 2008 to Burleson, Texas, Iris started On Deck Counseling, PLLC. She retired from public education in December, 2011 and now works with individual adults and children in Johnson and southern Tarrant Counties as a practicing provider of On Deck Counseling.

Business Owner
Whether she is working with clients in her practice, volunteering at a local nonprofit agency, or enjoying available community activities, Iris loves helping people. She also enjoys traveling to find waterfalls, visit out-of-state friends, explore new adventures and sights in other countries, or to simply have fun in nearby cities. Whenever possible, Iris attends professional baseball games as they provide relaxing opportunities to recharge and release stress with positive social interactions, exposure to nature, family togetherness, exciting displays of athletic competition, and yummy, fattening foods. A happy «empty-nester», Iris shares most activities with her loving husband, Mike. Their rescue dog, Deuce, works as a therapy dog for On Deck Counseling, and provides valued companionship. In moments of solitude, Iris enjoys yoga, Pilates, reading, exploring new interests, and Sudoku.
