My Nails

Jen has done my nails for years. She is super friendly and does a great job. She always puts a special design on my toes which makes my toes super cute! The atmosphere isn’t the most relaxing but Jen is so personal and sweet that the surroundings don’t matter!

As soon as I walked in I was extremely rushed, I got a full set for 25 $. And for a low price you definitely get low quality, super rushed and sloppy work. I went to Tina, who was extremely rough, she was bending my fingers to the point where they hurt. The worst part is they filed WAY too much, she filed my natural nail to the point where it was burning and I had to tell her to stop. After she put the fake nails on, of course more and more filing. At the end she filed so much that two of my nails were crooked and missing nail on the side and when I brought it to her attention all she said was «oh I’m sorry» and walked away, very rude, I’m paying to get my nails done correctly, not a cheap rushed job. Of course I didn’t tip but if they want a good honest tip: don’t let your work reflect off your cheap prices. One of the worst experiences I have ever had, will not be returning. For anyone considering going here, do yourself a favor and pay the extra 5 $ and go somewhere where they actually treat you with respect and do the job correctly.

Linda has been doing my nails for years. By far my favorite! Always going above and beyond to make sure I leave pleased.

Cheap prices but most of the ladies there are rude. I’ve given them a few chances but they haven’t proved me wrong yet. They rush me every time and they do not do what I asked for. Whenever I am unhappy with something, the lady says it’s too late and doesn’t fix it. They’re rough with my hands and feet and one lady even rushed me to watch tv on her iPad. Poor service.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. They DO NOT know how to treat customers or do waxing! It’s cheap but you get what you pay for!

Rough treatment, super-​sloppy polish job, rude, rushed, worst nail salon experience ever. Have to get both hands and feet done over somewhere else. I bet the workers are insanely overworked, though, and trained to move thru each customer as fast as possible. Does anyone check up on these places? Avoid this salon.

I don’t recommend this place at all! I lot of my friends told me about the poor services but i insists to go there because it’s pretty close to my house, they are very rude, they always try to get more customers to get more money instead to take time with each one of them to offer a good services, we girls go to do out nails because we love to look pretty and at the same time to relax for a little bit it’s like our time for ourselves but they don’t give that special moment that we need! if you say something to them, they start talking in their language in front of you and they think we don’t notice they are talking about you. And you can tell that place it’s not clean at all! I’m very disappointed about this place! I hope they can change the services soon!

Not the best nail salon in town for sure! Very rushed and very rude service. Nothing special and I’m glad, unlike some of the other reviewers here, that they didn’t cut my skin and cause any infections. Go elsewhere please !

Worst nail salon in Northern Virginia. Their customer service is horrible. Their gel manicure did not even last a week.

My boyfriend and I have been coming to ViVi for about 6 months now. The employees are friendly. Prices are fair. I like coming here because she does everything right. No shortcuts, no rushing, flawless finish every time. I won’t go to anyone else.

So I went here on Mother’s Day. I should have know when the lady who told me to sit down looked annoyed. I figured, they were just busy. I settled into my massage chair and relaxed. No one asked for the polish that I had chosen, no big deal. I had to look several times to see if anything was being done on my toes, that is how light the pressure was, she cut my toe nails with a cuticle cutter!!! Who does that! No big deal, everyone does thing differently. The nail polish was sitting on my lap and I am enjoying the chair. She asked for my polish, I go to hand it to her and I notice that it has spilled on my dress. She said «oh.» that is all. No sorry, no Oh My. She tells me she has something that can get it out, but that it will smell. «no worry». So she finished my toes and rushes me off to get the manicure. I said what about my dress, she says «here, we try this». I am hovering over the pedicure sink with my dress and she pours this solution on and starts to rub the dress together. My dress now has this HUGE pink stain on it! I tell her that my dress is ruined and she says that I need to go home and rub it some more with a stain remover. I was beyond upset at this point. I fussed louder then I wanted to and no one offered to pay for the dress, the pedicure or offer any type of compensation. I got up and walked out the door! She calls after me, «you forgot to pay»! I turned and said, «you ruined my dress and you think that I am going to pay»! I will never, ever go back!

I don’t like to leave negative reviews, but I just can’t let this one go.
I went to get a pedi-​mani done to feel pampered before my birthday, but l left the place more stressed than before! My nails look horrible and the nail polish is all over my cuticles (which the lady barely cleaned up).
SO disappointed and furious with this experience!!!

As with most salons techs, I’ve found that as I continue to come back as a regular that Jenny has gotten sloppy and too quick with me. I’d still go for a quick shellac, but when I want to be pampered beyond expectation I go to Heaven Nail and Spa in Fairfax now. The extra hot stone massage, regular arm and hand massage and back, neck and shoulder massages are worth it, and they have been very good with detail.

Ok, so I was in the area an decided to give this place another go… The lady that helped me this time shaped my nails very well. Still not too excited about the pedicure but was def pleased with my nail shape. Nail Polish came off the next day, but since going to the less expensive nail salons, this has been the norm. Maybe I should just have them not even put nail polish on next time…

I hate to bring in even MORE bad news, but I went in here to get a pedicure and it was going fine when I felt a very very sharp pain in my right big toe. I look down and see blood gushing –not dripping– but gushing down my toe. The nail tech told me it would go away in a second and sent me on my way, long story short a month later and my toe is very much infected, from what I assume to be poorly sterilized tools. I even had to go in to a foot doctor to get it cleared up. Not fun.

I tried this place out with a friend who was a regular — she came for the cheap prices and I was intrigued by a $ 9 mani!
We came around 2pm on a Sunday afternoon and I was expecting a bit of a wait but they were able to get us into pedicure chairs right away. They get +1 star for patiently waiting and not rushing us while my friend and I chose our colors (which can take a bit of time… we like to take our time with this part!).
The pedicure was… okay. I have really dry calloused feet so I like them to really shave off all the dead skin they can so I can leave with silky soft feet… the lady working on me didn’t use it when I finally asked her to do it, my feet were already almost dry so it didn’t work as well… another thing I hated was that she put lotion on my legs… and then washed my legs… so then I ended up with super dry skin. Lotion is put on AFTER you wash so it can keep you moisturized!
On to to the manicure… this was also okay. The nail polish I chose was OPI (they had a very limited selection of OPI though, a lil bit of Essie, and a lot of unknown brand names that I stray from — I always go with OPI) but I think the base and top coat products they use might be lesser quality. She did an okay job shaping my nails (I like a more square look, with the corners slightly rounded) but a sucky job with my cuticles — she barely cleaned them up. Then, she put lotion on my hands… and then told me to go wash my hands. WTH? I am the type of person who always has to remoisturize after washing my hands so this was just making my skin dry out super fast and it was really irritating (not to mention a waste of their product!).
Then we sat to dry and they did not come back to check on us once. Since I am usually messing up my nails 5 seconds after leaving a salon, my friend and I chose to just sit and dry for about 20 minutes or so to ensure we were really okay before leaving.
The application of the nails looked fine for about 4 days… and then it started to chip. That was the fastest I’ve ever had nails chip — and I didn’t even do a lot of dishes or cleaning w/​out gloves on so it really shouldn’t have chipped for at least a week.
I believe the mani + pedi cost $ 28 (maybe $ 29) so I might come back if I want quick and cheap service but for better quality I will stick to Nail a la Mode in Kings Park Shopping Center!

I don’t have too many things wrong with My Nails. Yes, it is a little more on the run down side but I expected that considering the shopping center I was in. It’s also really small. I got a white tip full set and the lady who did mine did and excellent job. My only thing is she was a little ruff and squeezed my fingers a little too hard. She worked quick though as that was a plus for me because I was in a hurry.
I probably won’t go here again though just because it was a little too small for me as I’m claustrophobic.

I got a Pedicure here once, Try not to come during a busy period and expect them to give you prompt immediate service. I’ve seen alot of people come in demand a immediate pedicure during peak hours.
Good tip: schedule a appointment or go during a off hour. =)

I will no longer go here even for emergency pedicures.
Having returned from an emergency pedicure trip, I am sadden and disgusted by what I witnessed at the salon. In my experience, on average, many nail technicians are not fluent in English. I have NEVER seen this as an issue. However, the technician’s treatment of a Hispanic woman who spoke limited English today was AWFUL!
The technician hustled the poor patron with up selling her on everything, required her to pay for services in advance and even required for her tip in advance. Yes, required– as in would not proceed with the service until a tip was handed over. The woman’s question to the other Hispanic patron that she was attempting to assist was– How do I know how much to tip for service that I have not received? Made sense to me! The technician did not attempt to hide her impatience with the wait or her disapproval with the tip. I believe that woman tipped $ 7 on a $ 50 bill. RUDE! UNPROFESSIONAL! UNCOMFORTABLE for the poor patron who was forced to pay for services she has not received and still had to sit in that woman’s chair! The technician even started lining up her next client prior to completing the woman’s service half way. Oh, and did I mention that for the first five minutes of the appointment the technician was eating an apple and did not wash her hands prior to working with her client.
People really should treat others how they expect to be treated.

Wow. These accounts on here are scary. I can’t say I’m surprised but I haven’t personally experienced anything too heinous. Yes, they always try to upsell me. Yes, they always ask if my eyebrows need waxing (sometimes repeatedly). And I’ve found, unfortunately, that some of the nicer technicians give crappy pedicures and the more brusque or talky technicians give the better ones. It’s like Sophie’s choice, man! Good pedicure or annoying pedicurist? Oh, the humanity!
Still, they’re close by, quick, and inexpensive. The job is typically competent to above average. After reading these reviews, I feel like I should probably find a new nail salon but, really, I’m too lazy. It’s why I go here to begin with.
So, in short, great place for lazy, cheap people!
