Dr. Ghannam is really a great communicator, he does some of the best work for me and my family. His staff is really wonderful, they are always smiling, which tells me they like who they are working for :) I have been to many dentist throughout northern Virginia and this guy is the best! I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Ghannam is a life saver! For over seven years, I’ve been concerned about a crown and a root canal on same, which gave me all kinds of problems from the beginning. I voiced my discomfort several times to my dentist and endodontist, but was told repeatedly that nothing showed up on the x-​rays and everything was fine. Long story short, the root canal abscessed and became infected. Dr. Ghannam removed the crown and extracted the tooth, which turned out to be dead. He performed a bone graft and placed a membrane to prepare my mouth for a future implant. Dr. Ghannam’s chair-​side manner is superb. He listens to you, clearly explains the procedure he is about to carry out; and answers your questions with explanations the lay person can understand. I highly recommend Dr. Ghannam to everyone and have already done so to one of my friends.
Artisan Dental is a comfortable and quiet state-​of-​the-​art facility unlike most dentist offices that are crowded and noisy. For music aficionados, Artisan Dental offers a choice of music to listen to while you are being treated: classic rock, country, light jazz, pop, etc. Stevie Nicks never sounded so good!

As a parent, an injury to your child is of utmost concern. My daughter fell and broke an adult front tooth. She loved her smile and was always getting compliments on it so she was devastated when this happened. I phoned Dr Ghannam’s office, as a first time patient, and Lina and Dr Ghannam were so accommodating they saw us the same day! My daughter is a dental phobic, has never had a cavity or dental work, other than cleanings so I was concerned how this was going to go. Sunita, his assistant, was very kind, caring, and comforting. She made sure my daughter was completely at ease during the procedure. Dr Ghannam was able to replace the broken tooth perfectly with a bonded restoration that looked just like her tooth and matched color as well. My daughter was ecstatic with the end result. Dr Ghannam is very kind, caring, knowledgeable and perfectionistic, which is a top priority on my list! We drove from Maryland for this appointment to see him and are so happy we did. At the end of my daughter’s appointment, she said «that was the best dental experience I’ve ever had. Can this be my dentist from now on?» If a dental phobic is ready to go back to the dentist, that says something about this office and team! Looks like we will be driving from Maryland to see Dr Ghannam and his team from now on! We can’t thank them enough!

My past experiences with dentists have been unsatisfactory; however, all of that changed when I discovered Artisan Dental of Burke (formerly Artisan Dental Institute). My dentist is Dr. Medhat R. Ghannam and he has done extensive work on my mouth to repair years of bad dentistry. I’ve had all of my leaking gold and porcelain crowns replaced with all porcelain crowns, seven root canals, two teeth extractions, one dental implant, porcelain veneers on six fractured front teeth, and Invisalign.
Dentistry is precision work and requires the ability to use sharp instruments in a very small space. Dr. Ghannam has the natural talent, manual dexterity, and meticulous attention to detail needed to be accurate and precise. In my opinion, interpersonal skills are probably the most essential quality of a good dentist and Dr. Ghannam’s interpersonal skills are excellent. He relates to his patients on a personal level, which helps to alleviate any concerns or fear the patient may have regarding a dental treatment. He explains the work that will be done before and during treatment, so the patient is prepared for the experience. In addition, he follows up with phone calls and e-​mails to ensure the patient is responding well to the treatment. Over the years, I have been to many dentists — some good, some not so good. To quote a Tina Turner song from 1992, Dr. Ghannam is «Simply the Best!»
Sunita Sanjay is an exceptionally talented dental assistant. Her chair-​side manner is wonderful. She performs a variety of duties that include preparing the patient for treatment, taking impressions, passing instruments to Dr. Ghannam during the treatment and so on. In other words, she becomes his extra set of hands. Ms. Sanjay works hard and she works smart, which raises the bar for everyone.
My dental hygienist is Karen Watts. She is outgoing, friendly, and passionate about oral health. She continually educates her patients about proper oral hygiene and the correct way to clean teeth. Her manual dexterity is excellent as is her attention to detail both of which are required to effectively handle the different instruments her job demands. She is a key player on the Artisan Dental team and I am delighted to have her in my corner.
Artisan Dental of Burke devotes time and resources to their business hiring strategy to ensure they attract the right candidates for their nonclinical positions. Their dental receptionists, Sarah and Lina, know much more than how to say hello and handle a multi-​line phone. Both are customer service oriented and are able to handle patients who are under stress due to their medical problems. They make patients feel at ease, assist them to fill out forms, and handle computer work. Sarah and Lina are the first point of contact for the patients and Artisan Dental has hired a first rate team.
